The Humvee of hiking and running shoes! I don't understand the fuss about these shoes running smaller in size. They are actually true to size. The slippage some folks mention here is easily fixed by getting a size smaller. It happened to me; I'm originally 7, ordered 7.5 and had to return them. Great shoe!!!

Perfect hiking and street shoe - After trying many many hiking shoes, (thanks to excellent customer service, return policies of Zappos) this shoe fits! It is a mid weight hiking boot with excellent traction for rocky areas. Great toe wiggle room! I went up 1/2 size.

SUPERB HIKER - Bought these shoes yesterday, arrived today just as I was getting ready to go for a short hike in the redwoods with my dog. The shoes fit perfectly and gripped well on a hefty, inclined, dusty slope. No breaking in was needed. Fantastic shoes and fantastic online business. They got it right with free, one day shipping. Now if Zappos would carry household goods too.

Great Shoe!! I purchased this shoe for a first time camping/hiking trip. They were great! I walked for hours with no leg or foot tiredness at all. They are very light weight. I'm glad I spent the extra money for the best. Others in my group weren't so lucky...

Rugged and dependable - This is my second pair of Keen Targhee's. They fit my feet very well, giving support, and adjustability.

My feet were the only things that stayed dry! I like to go on adventure hikes and recently went on an outing with a group on wet ground and intermittent rains. My feet stayed dry! They take a little getting used to in wearing but well worth the effort! Nice room in the toes which is important to me.

Zappos awesome - I know Keens and love Keens. Orthodics (the new foot surgery alternative) fit in them better then any other shoe. They also have a wide heel as well so the orthodics don’t get all cupped.

Order half size up! Great looking shoe that embraces Keen comfort. Many people recommended this hiking shoe to me. I did need to return my regular size for a half size up. But with Zappos, it was a breeze--thanks Zappos!

Almost, but not quite compared to Targhee II - These are very comfortable and sturdy, but for looks, I preferred the Targhee II. The upside to this one is that there are way more size options than the Targhee II if you aren't lucky enough to fit into one of the 3 sizes available in the Targhee II.

No Other Shoe For Me - I've had these shoes for a year now and I have not worn any - other - shoes in the past year. From day one, they were comfortable as slippers, yet supportive. I usually wear a 7-1/2, so I got an 8. I wish I had stuck with the 7-1/2s because they have stretched and are not good on steep terrain since my foot keeps slipping. No worries, they are still fine for town. I just ordered another pair in a 7-1/2. I hope Keen keeps making these forever as I will not wear any other shoes! I feel the same way about the Newport II sandals. xoxoxoxo Keen!

Great Hiking Shoe with Stability and Grip - I found it was true to size. My size 8 left just enough space for my toes, with thin socks, to not bump the front. However, overall the shoe felt snug for my slightly wide and thick feet. I swapped my Montrail insoles (just ever slightly thinner and broken in) for the new Keen ones, and the fit was absolutely perfect. The shoes feel very stable and have great traction. Without any insoles, they still actually feel pretty good, except that my ankles rubbed on the side of the shoe a little. So, with the Montrail insoles (the size of insoles matched almost perfectly - both size 8), my feet felt like they had a lot more space to wiggle. I usually don't like thick socks or athletic shoes because my feet get hot easily and feel claustrophobic, so this solution is great because with the thinner insoles the shoe did not feel too snug. Incidentally, if I loosened the laces anymore, the heels would have felt too loose, as other reviewers noted. Lengthwise, I think this shoe is true to size. Widthwise, I think it is a little wider than the average shoe but not quite a "wide" shoe. With the Keen insole that it came with, it felt a little shallow (where my toes would touch the top inside, and the laces dug into the top of my foot a little, with thin socks). I like the look, and the color, although it wouldn't be my first choice, it’s actually not that bad. They look "olive" to me, or like a mossy green, and the fabric tabs like a buff (think foundation) but not quite as much pink as it looks on some websites. I like the "mineral blue" accent (my Montrail insoles were actually the exact same color!). I don't have high arches, so the arch support seems perfect (a little stiff and high actually with the Keen insoles). Overall, I think this is going to be a great shoe for hiking. If you have slightly wider and thicker feet like I do, a pair of slightly thinner insoles should do the trick. I got these mainly because I was looking for a waterproof low hiking shoe that wasn't too stiff, and I think they are the best choice from what I've tried on. Definitely wider and roomier than Merrells with Gore-tex (should come in wide, much less bulkier), and more flexible and comfy than the Solomon’s I tried (very bulky and stiff).

Keen Targhee II - All I can say is awesome! For foot pain sufferers, Keen is the best. My orthotics do cause some heel slipping in my shoes but I will take that over foot pain any day! Keens give me the support and comfort I need to be pain free after many years and thousands of dollars spent on other shoes.

Love at first wearing! These are quite possibly the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I was able to wear them immediately for a ten day trip to Disney World with no break in time - and had no issues at all. I bought them for dog walking, but looks like they are going to be worn a whole lot more then that. Definitely order at least a half size up, not for real narrow feet!

Keen Targhee II - I ordered one night and received the next day! These are probably one of the most comfortable pair of shoes that I have ever owned - as I had read in other reviews, the heel is a bit on the loose side, but this does not affect the actual fit of the shoe. I cannot wait to go hiking in these this summer!

Keen and Zappos: an excellent partnership - These shoes ROCK. This will be my third pair of Keens and I continue to go to them day after day. I agree with others they you must buy a half size larger as they do run small, but they are a great fit and Zappos is great to allow returns and exchanges so no worries. They are comfy, stylish, and just a joy to wear.

Great shoe! I bought these a year ago for a hike in the Grand Canyon. They didn't require breaking in time. I wear them to work because I am on my feet all day. These shoes are comfy and durable! My other Keens are just as great as these are!

Keens never disappoint - I'm a nurse that works twelve hour shifts. These shoes are the most comfortable I've found... and they're waterproof. The footbed is a step up even from the Keen Mary Jane style I wear running around town. AND these shoes are so cute... Keens rock!

These hiking boots are great!! They did not even require any "breaking in." I have custom orthotics and I was able to remove the insert that came with the boot and insert my orthotics with no problems.

Perfect! They went from hiking the wet roads of MA to the desert of AZ in the same week, perfect from the first step. I LOVE my Keen's Targhee II!

Must contradict others... Fits my weird foot. I wear a 5.5 or a 6. These are a 6. I like to say I have duck feet, a narrow heel and wide, wide toes. Toes are comfy, heels don't slip. And incredibly well molded comfortable and attractive shoe, worth the bucks.

Keen Targhee II - I'm a huge fan of these shoes. I used them to go hiking and walking through the jungle and streets of Guatemala. They have great traction and support. They have also been great during a rough Chicago winter. They are my most comfortable pair of shoes, but do note two things that many other reviews have mentioned: (1) they run a half size small... I ignored other reviews and ordered my normal size, only to exchange them for a half size larger and (2) there is a bit of "heel slippage" at first, but I quickly got used to the wear and now I don't even notice it. Overall - very versatile solid shoe, worth the $ and highly recommended.

Best work shoes I've found - As a nurse who runs, stands, or walks for 12 hr. shifts, I just haven't found anything to beat these shoes for comfort, stability, and support. Only drawback is they're a little heavy and the waterproofness makes my feet perspire - though not uncomfortably so.

Rugged, durable shoe that goes the distance... I was originally interested in the Keen Targhee II because I was looking for lightweight trail boots that would withstand the elements. The Targhee II is all that and more. The most comfortable shoe I own, as well as attractive, I bought two pairs. I suggest a half size up than your usual, because the toe box is a bit low.
