These shoes felt a bit short to me, but the bigger problem was that they felt way too wide in the heel, so my feet kept shifting which would lead to blisters.

I liked the color and style of these shoes but they felt very boxy. Heel kept slipping. Good arch support though.

BEWARE!! This last pair was the 5th one I ordered. 4 out of 5 are defective. The first pair had the insole bunched up and wrinkled, didn't really try them on, ordered a second pair, didn't fit, then I ordered half size up, and the next three pairs were visually defective, right shoe different than the left. I might keep the last pair, not perfect but less noticeable. Zappos did their best, I asked for someone to check the shoes before they sent them but that was not possible. Agents really tried to help, they offered exchange over exchange twice, and they did give me credit on my account for the inconvenience. This is the first time I've bought the brand and don't know if it was just one defective size 8 lot. If you really like these just be prepared. Look at the top 2 pairs in the picture compared to the last bottom one. The plastic on the right shoe is uneven.

A Keen of a different stripe - I love me some Keens. No joke, I am on my feet 10 hours a day 5 days a week. These shoes take a BEATING like no other. My first pair was the Bronx, which I have worn at least three days out of the week for three years. The Targhee have a different fit: the toe box is not your typical wide keen toe box, so the initial feel is a little different. Overall, they're very comfortable, but they do indeed feel narrower than my other Keens. After the first week of wear, I’ve adjusted to the fit and really enjoy the support and comfort in this shoe. They have a great tread, excellent sole support, and are sturdy without heating up my feet. After reading reviews, I opted for my normal size (10) but I feel if you're a thick wool-sock kind of person, you may want to go half size larger.

Keen Targhee - Zappos helps so much in making a choice online with reviews. I would recommend listening to everyone saying to order up 1/2 size in this shoe (and most Keen shoes). I have 4 pairs of Keens. The older two pair are my regular size but the last two pair had to be 1/2 size larger. Don't know why the size difference over the last 3 years but you will be happy with the larger size. Extremely comfortable right out of the box and you can wear them all day...no discomfort at all. Also runs narrow compared to previous shoes made by Keen.

Keen Targhee - Looks great, needs some breaking in. Toe takes sometime to get used to. Ordered a full size larger.

A Brief Encounter - I just tried these on today and fell in love. These are much cuter and less clunky than they look in the picture, and the color is wonderful. And they feel terrific--a great sturdy walking and light hiking shoe, with lots of room in the toes and great arch. Try them!

Strange Shoe - This shoe is a really good looking shoe, but you need to buy a size that is half a size bigger than you normally wear. Also, it takes some getting used to having the hard part above your toe. After the first week, gets more comfy, but takes a while. My other Keens have ALWAYS been extremely comfortable and I have loved them... this one I am not so happy with....

I usually love keens - their looks, fit and comfort. But....these do not have the ususal keen fit. They are quite narrow and just seemed to feel funny and tight all over. All my other keens are 10s and fit great but these seemed at least a half a size smaller. A disappointing keen shoe.

I ordered a half size larger than my usual size based on previous reviews. I find I have ample space in the shoes for thicker socks. I wore them the first day around the house to ensure I would be able to handle the arch support with my flat feet. Went outside the next for a five mile walk and they were awesome. I would recommend these shoes.

These are my favorite Keen shoes, they are great in the winter. My feet keep getting flatter every year, so I have to see how these work this year. But these are great arch support shoes and helps me walk with my wide flat feet. The box toes saves me so much pain.

Waterproof and warm but not too hot! Love for wet trail days, great traction and support.

I love these shoes. I was looking for a good comfortable waterproof shoe and this is it. I will say I ordered up half size because of the reviews, but I say they run half size bigger not smaller in my case. Worth every penny and plan to get my husband a pair in the men's version. I don't use these for hiking, but washing cattle and working around on the farm. I can wear them all day without issues. 10/10 for keeping my feet dry!

I’ll start this review by saying that hiking boots are very personal choice and that the style you choose will depend on the shape of your foot. I’ve tried many different kinds of hiking boots and for me, with my moderately high arches and fairly narrow foot, these are the absolute best I’ve found. I go through a pair every eight or nine months. They would last longer if I wore them only on trails but I do wear them on the roads – I find them extremely comfortable and stable.

I’m hoping the more I wear them, the more comfortable they’ll become. They’re a sharp looking shoe and a lot of cushion. They seem to be protectively hard in the toe box but a little loose in the heels; that’s my only concern. Lacing them tighter doesn’t seem to help this issue.

Over the years I've had a tough time finding comfortable walking shoes. They always start off feeling fine but then my feet just ache after even a short walk. These are the first shoes I've had that are truly comfortable, even over several miles. Better than Merrells.

The shoe was definitely comfortable out of the box and required little to no break-in time for me. I usually wear a 7.5 and I bought an 8, it fit perfectly. My only complaint would be that I would have to re-tighten the laces every few hours, which isn't too much of a drag. I'd also suggest wearing socks that cover your ankles or they might get rubbed a bit. Otherwise, great shoe. I used it to hike to Machu Picchu and didn't slip once, even on wet and uneven terrain.

Love the wider toe area that Keen offers. My feet aren't exactly large, but when hiking, they swell. So having the wiggle room is wonderful. Also like how they're waterproof.

Best waterproof sneaker/trainer ever! So happy I found these, because: - really well-made (thick, sturdy shoe). - great fit (supportive; not tight). - great for walking through the rain/slush/mud or any other icky surface (no slip; thick sole; shoe doesn't get dirty). - easy to clean (removable sole) - classy color combination (looks really nice under all circumstances). Will certainly be my go-to brand/style for this type of shoe. Well worth the price!

I love this style. It does tend to run small 1/2 size smaller. This shoe is made very well, tough, and very comfortable. It is lighter than it appears it would be. I like the earth tones, which I did not see when I ordered this 3rd pair. If they do get wet, they "wick" dryer, faster than any other shoe. I wear the last pair for off farm work. One pair I use in a dairy barn, and the leather holds up! Rinses off great. Very well made shoe with great stitching that is unbelievably sturdy. Zappos will replace if you're not happy with size, style. I first ordered 2 sizes and sent the smaller one back! Now I know what size! (Using thicker socks may contribute to seemingly smaller sizing.)

Cute, comfy, very sturdy for hiking. More stiff than I'd assumed, but that's great for hiking. They do run a bit small. I had to exchange for 1/2 size up. I have many other Keens, and this size did not fit the same.

I wear them 365 days a year in the muck and wet of a farm. My feet are dry and happy all the time!

Very nice, comfy shoe. I bought up 1/2 size, they do feel a little big. But better than too tight, so I am keeping them. Waterproof, cushy, and supportive.

I love Zappos! I have to wear Keen shoes due to foot problems and Zappos is the only place I go to look for Keens. Sizes are correct and quality of product is always there. I am extremely happy with my Keen Targhee II shoes.
