AZ scramble - Highly recommended the shoe has a great fit, especially if you are looking for a shoe with more room in the toes.

Great shoe - I was looking for a shoe with a wider toe box and one that would accommodate orthotics. This shoe did the trick.

More Keens, especially their sandals.

Look at your foot, look at the shoe - I love these shoes. They fit my feet perfectly. I was advised to get a larger size than I normally wear, but I think that is for toe space. If the ends of your toes taper down sharply to the little toe or are not fairly straight across, you may need a larger size. I tried a larger size, but my foot moved around. For the shape of my foot, my usual size was perfect. I'm very fussy about comfort, and these are my best yet (23 years of hiking).
I'd also recommend:
Hi-Tec are cheaper and comfortable, but Keen are much better.

I wanted to wait until I had a chance to try these on the trail before I wrote a review. I took these on an 8 mile hike thru the Smokey Mountains in the cold rain and snow. They are absolutely waterproof. The grip is pretty good. The looks are okay. However, you WILL NOT ever be able to tie them tight enough. My feet slid all over the bed of the shoe even though I had on 2 pairs of socks. Going down the mountain for the last couple miles was torture! Very disappointed with the purchase.

Great Shoe / Best Price - I haven't been on any long hikes but this shoe is amazingly comfortable. If you have a wide foot, as I do, this is the shoe for you. If it's durable, I'll be buying Keens for a long time.

I love the look, support and feel of the shoe. Keen's sizing, though, baffles me; I normally wear a 9 1/2 but had to exchange twice to 10 1/2, and probably could have even comfortably gone to size 11. Zappos shipping was prompt and refunds were very quick with no questions asked though.

Typical Keen Shoe- This is the second pair of Keen footwear that I own. The Targhee has the familiar Keen footbed that many with wide feet love. Sizing was an issue: Based on previous reviews, ordered one size up and had to return for yet an even bigger size. Normally I wear a 10 to 10.5, yet for these shoes, a size 12 fit best. Out of the box, wore shoes for 8+ hours with no discomfort or felt need for extended break-in. Over all- Great shoes, decent quality, sizing 2x over normal.

Very nice shoe! As with other Keen shoes I have, these are well made and have performed great. This model seems to run slightly snug, but once broken in is great. For a hiker, the snugger fit gives a nice feel of stability and grip. All things considered, I highly recommend.

Great Shoe, but it runs a little small - Love the shoe, but it really is not a 10.5. Feels like a 10.

Great Shoe, But Needs Better Glue - The shoe is a good looking shoe. It feels comfortable when walking, and it is waterproof. The sole is a bit hard, but it helps when you are walking on rough or rocky terrain. The sole did start to come apart from the upper on one shoe, so it will be replaced. Reading other reviews, I see that this has happened before. I do like the shoe and recommend them for out door walking. I'm 6'2" and 245 pounds and they really make hiking a breeze.

Fantastic comfort and truly waterproof - This is an excellent light walking shoe with great comfort and support. I think that Keen shoes do tend to run a little on the small size and though I wear size 10.5 for most other brands of shoes. I find size 11 Keens to be a perfect fit. This is a comfortable shoe for short hikes and even daily wear. They are light and provide excellent support. Not as rugged as Asolo but much better than North Face. Merrill makes comfortable shoes but Keens fit better.

Good, but not the best Keens - I like the Targhee II for walking - I bought them for walking the dog in bad weather. They fit differently than the Keen Bronx that I like so much - I had to go a full size bigger, but they slip a bit if I don't cinch them down pretty tight. I probably haven't broken them in all the way yet, so that may change. They have kept my feet dry, though, so they are doing the job I bought them for. Traction seems pretty good, too, although the sole could be a little softer to improve it further.

the perfect shoe! I love this shoe: hiked in a foot of snow for a couple hours, ran on muddy trails, went to a nice restaurant- and my Keens served me well on all surfaces. They also attract the kind of ladies I like- rugged, cool, educated, and energetic...

Look great, but sadly uncomfortable - I really, really wanted to agree with the other reviewers, as these shoes look great in the pic, and even better in person. I realize I do need much more arch support than most people, and that the heel being higher than most shoes needs time to get used to. But I was relieved to take these shoes off as my feet began to feel pained when I walked around the house in them. They don't have the degree of arch support I needed, and just don't have all that much cushioning. I can see however how they might satisfy others with the right shaped feet and not a great need for a high degree of arch support.

Great Shoes! Great Service! Most of the reviews I read about these shoes recommended that you order a size larger than what you typically wear. However, I ordered the larger size and they ended up being a little too big. I called up Zappos, and they set up an advance exchange. My new shoes arrived in no time, and I couldn't be happier. The shoes are extremely comfortable, and Zappos customer service was unbelievably helpful and convenient. Thank you Zappos.

Walk all day - I was looking for a shoe with enough comfort and support that I could walk all day and I found it. I am 61 and have done enough running and hiking over the years that my feet feel their age. This shoe lets me forget the age thing and walk all day. I bought them to have something lighter than a hiking boot for adventuring in Italy this winter and know that they will work just fine.

Try the Keen sandal too.

Keen Targhee II - Top notch shoe that is very well made. I usually wear an 8 1/2 but as others have stated got the 9 instead. Much better fit. Looking forward to using these hiking in Glacier National Park.

I teach and am on my feet all day on concrete floors; good supportive shoes are a problem. I tried Garmont’s first and they were way too small and narrow. Zappos great customer service exchanged them and sent out the Keen Targhee II's UPS two day air free of charge. I really wanted the Keens to work because I had read some great reviews on them. They were too narrow even when I ordered them a half size larger. The heels are too high for me and any uphill caused my toes to butt up against the front of the shoe. If your feet are a D width or narrower then these will probably work because there is a lot of cushioning under the heel and forefoot. They are well made and look good.

Great for the woods - I was looking for a lightweight hiker/trail runner for active hikes through the woods with my dog. I tried a slew of trail runners but found none that really felt great. Having owned a few pairs of Keen shoes, I decided to try the Targhee. Fit great, flexible but not in a bad way, light weight, good looks. If I had one wish - I wish they were slightly less bulky so I could feel more comfortable wearing them every day. Truly waterproof - I tested them by standing in a running stream. Feet stayed dry! And - the shoes dried quickly. As with every other Keen shoe I've worn - plan on sizing up. I wear a 12 in every other brand, a 12.5 would be ideal for the Targhee, but alas, no 12.5 in the Keen catalog. 13 fits great and leaves room for a good hiking sock. Keen also has a greatest outlook and vibe as a company - I feel good buying their products.

Nice shoe - I had knee replacement surgery and these are extremely comfortable and they absorb the shock of walking. Order a 1\2 larger they run a bit small.

Keen Targhee II – nice all around shoe - This shoe is comfortable right out of the box. I have heard that Keen trail shoes do not hold up well – so I will have to wait and see. All other factors make this shoe a winner.

Keen Targhee II - Superb comfort the first time I wore them. I'm on my feet a lot, wore them 12 hours the first day I got them. Have worn them on a couple of day hikes here on Blue Ridge Mountain trails. Excellent traction. I'll buy another pair soon.
