I usually wear a 9.5, but I got a size 10 after talking to the order person. They fit great, are totally waterproof and perfect for my volunteer work leading hikes at my state park.

My left foot has two hammar toes, which require an extremely spacious toe box. Keen shoes are the only brand that allows adequate space both in terms of width and "height" allowing my very strange toes to be comfortable. These are no exception. Additionally the shoes tend to last almost forever.

Great hiker - I bought these just before going on a week long trip to the Smokies. At first I had to exchange for a larger size. They do seem to run a size small. After receiving the new size, I would say they took a few days to break in. Once broken in, these were the most comfortable hikers I have worn. No blisters, no soreness, and excellent traction, even walking downhill. Even more impressive is how dry they keep your feet. No sweaty feet! I even had a few slips off rocks and completely submerged my feet in some of the rivers there. Simply took the shoe off at the cabin and within a few hours, shoe was completely dry and looking like new.

Time will tell - I am very hard on my foot wear. The design seems to be good for my type of use. I like the way they fit and feel. If they last a year I will be completely satisfied.

Love My Keen Targhee II - suggest order 1/2 size larger - I have owned a pair of Keen sandals that I love! I was in search of a pair of shoes that would hold up to the daily use of outside work for both myself and my husband. I ordered a pair of Targhee IIs for each of us. I had ordered the same size Targhee as my Keen sandals, but realized that the Targhees ran a bit small and had to get the next size larger. Zappos has EXCELLENT customer service and quickly sent the replacement shoes - no hassle, no extra charge, and super speedy shipping. We both LOVE the shoes. They are comfortable from the moment you put them on and have held up to the demands of working outside. I like them so much I ordered another pair as non-working shoes! I would suggest to order 1/2 size larger than you normally would wear.

Stylish urban streetfighters - Keen Targhee II sets the standard for comfort, style, and toughness! Great traction fighting for that cab on west 57th, gamboling through the crowds on navy pier, or struttin' your stuff on the Embarcadero...

Better than store shpping - Besides the half size smaller feel of my original order, this is the shoe made for me and my finicky feet. The Zappos rep made the return feel like a good experience. Thanks for the speedy shipping of the perfect size.

Not sure yet - I live in my Keen Austin’s so I bought these. Unfortunately I'm not as thrilled with these -- it is perhaps more my fault than Keens fault. Here are my reasons. 1. They have a different footbed that feels smaller and tighter, even with thin socks 2. My feet get really hot in these shoes. I'm just not sold on the waterproof/breathable thing yet. If you want a cool/wet weather hiker, these could be great. But they're too hot for a summer shoe. I'm still hooked on Keens, but I think I may have made a bad choice with these.

Awesome shoe! I bought these shoes the day before an all-day hike. I hiked nine miles of tough terrain in rain and hail and these shoes were awesome. My feet stayed dry and comfortable and I didn't have to break them in at all. Plus, they look cool.

On my second pair and loving them - Waterproof, breathable, an all around great shoe. The first pair lasted 8 months of pretty much everyday use and I walk a lot. Now onto my second and just as happy.

Decent - Pros: Solid construction, water proof, hard rubber toe, wide foot print. And now for the cons: P R I C E, they do not breathe, soles are slippery on wet surfaces. So... For the price, you can do a lot better. These are good shoes, and they are comfortable. I got the "orange" shoes and the color in the picture is different in real light. A little more purple than I would have liked. Also, unlike some of the other reviews, I think they run a half size too big. I’ve got to say, these shoes have stood up to some serious abuse and show no signs of failing any time soon.

IT FITS! I have hard to fit feet, high instep wide foot, and these fit great. They look nice too and I like the toe cap because in my job I crawl on my knees and wear out the toes. Very comfortable. I have a flatter foot as well and these don't seem to have a high arch inside, which I find annoying. Light weight, too!

The insert in my right shoe actually put pressure in the middle of my foot as opposed to under the arch. As soon as I removed the insert they were comfortable. As has been mentioned elsewhere about Keens, get at least a half size larger than you would normally wear.

Keen Targhee II - low - Walked over 3 miles the first day I wore it. Very comfortable (I have bad feet) and no sore feet at end of day. I bought 1/2 size bigger to accommodate the hiking socks. That worked out well. This is my first Keen shoe, but I will be back for other Keen shoes.

A fine shoe, but I'm not in love (yet) - After practically living in my Keen Richmonds for the last six months, I couldn't wait to get my next pair of Keens. I went to Zappos again because of their outstanding service and selection. I chose the Targhee II because I wanted more athletic performance than I got with the Richmond. I walk 5-7 miles per day for work and needed a comfortable, durable, and supportive shoe. Out of the box I could see that the Targhee II was a VERY well made shoe. Once on, I was glad that I ordered a half-size larger than normal as the fit was perfect. However, it felt as if I was in some kind of platform shoes - they seemed too high off the ground, especially in the heel. I wasn't worried because I figured they would need time to break in. After all, it took me a whole 6 weeks to appreciate my Richmonds. After 2 weeks, I still wasn't in love, so I switched out the inserts from an old pair of hikers I had laying around. Now at 4 weeks, I have to say that they still just don't feel right. Most of the problem does seem to stem from them feeling too high and also from that gusseted tongue. Too bad because I really like the look and the durability of the shoe. I have not given up, maybe they need more miles on them for me to find love again.

Did work for my foot - I can understand why people like this shoe, but it just didn't work for me. I like the wide toe box, but my heel wouldn't stay in the shoe no matter how tight I tried to tie it. I have a high in-step and the Targhee just doesn't accommodate for this. Unfortunately I wore it for a long hike and am now out the $$$$.

Very comfortable light boot - They breathe! (As advertised) They breathe well, support the arch (not as good as orthotics, but much better than average) and they're light and comfortable. Haven't had them long, but I also haven't had a more comfortable boot yet among Columbia and Timberland. You'll have a hard time going wrong.

Another gold - I have been wearing Targhee ones for over 2 years now. The soles started separating so I sumo glued them back on. Shoes are tough. Didn't realize how worn my olds were until I got my new pair of "II's" today. Size is still good. I can even tell an improvement over the old. The heel is a little slippy but they just need to be broken in. I even chose these over the Lowa Jannu Lo especially after seeing how beat up my 1st generations are. That rubber toe wins cuz I sure do kick a lot of stuff.

Second to none - Amazing product. Amazing service. I ordered a size too large, so they overnighted me another pair at no cost to me.

Heaven, I'm in Heaven - NEVER have I owned a trail shoe with such comfort and so much support. These are so comfortable that they have replaced my work-out shoes for aerobic and weight exercises. Due to distant ankle injuries in high school sports, I tend to roll laterally; the Keen sole prevents my doing so but never at the expense of comfort or arch support. Longer hikes on moderately rugged trails are quite easy in these shoes. These may become my favorite-ever footwear of any type.

Great Shoes - This is my tenth pair of Keens and they are awesome! Very comfortable wide shoe that offers great comfort and support. I would recommend ordering a half size bigger as these run a little small. Mad props to Zappos because their customer service is second to none. I ended up exchanging my shoe for a half size bigger and received the shoe the very next day. I cannot say enough about Zappos, their shoes, and their customer care. Thanks!!!

Excellent all around shoe - This is a great all purpose shoe. I wear to work as well as for a day hike. The best low cut "hiker" I can think of. I had always heard everyone raving about Keens, but now I know why!

3 years pleased with Keen Targhee II - Excellent therapeutic-type shoe for my plantar fasciitis and Morton neuroma. Primarily because of the excellent arch support. Also, a great foot bed.
