I bought these to walk the local rail trail. They are the most comfortable shoes I own. As always, Zappos service rocks!

This is a great, durable shoe. I needed something for when I go camping and didn't want a full blown/hardcore hunting boot. This is a great, waterproof option. The shoes come stiff, but break in quickly. It seemed to run a 1/2 size large. All in all, highly recommended and not a bad looking shoe either.

Could not be much more disappointed. This is my 3 pair of Targhee and I absolutely loved first two, but the upgraded Targee II is a great disappointment. It runs almost a full size smaller and narrower than the previous and with the new waterproof liner is just unbearably hot. Does not breath at all. Now on my 3rd return. Keen appears to be really going down hill.

I've had these shoes for 3 years. They're extremely comfortable, but I have one main gripe: The main reason I bought these was that they are supposed to be waterproof. Not resistant, but proof. I wanted to be able to walk through puddles and mud without worrying about wet feet. They worked for the first year or so, but after a while they lost whatever waterproofing they had, and now they're not even water resistant. Liquid sucks right up into my socks in a couple seconds. If it's the waterproofing you're after, I'd look elsewhere.

My fourth pair of these, solid daily city walking shoes. Warm, great support, all-weather durability. Dark colors great for the city.

I have had five pairs of these Targhee IIs (one of which was boot style) and have worn them on various long distance hikes (over 150 miles)as well as normal training over the past five years. The fit is not always perfect. I have sent three pairs back to Zappos because they were big in the heel or tight on top of my foot (and Zappos replaced them). But once they are right they are the best trail running shoes that I have ever owned.

My husband loves these shoes. He wears them everywhere in the autumn/winter time albeit the grocery store or hiking. They look great and feel good to him. Be sure to get a 1/2 size larger. They run small.

These shoes are awesome! I have had a pair going on 5, yes 5 years. I was as hard on them as anyone would be who is in the outdoors alot. I am still wearing them every day, but mostly for casual use and to drive back and forth to work as they are starting to wear thin. They are still really comfortable though and i can't bring myself to part with them. This coming from someone who has flat feet and has searched high and low for a comfortable, waterproof pair of shoes. Would recommend to anyone looking for a tough pair of low hikers. Not sure how they would hold up on a demanding hike, but for everyday wear they are unmatched for wear and comfort.

I have worn Keen hiking shoes since they started production. They have turned out to be my favorite hiking shoes. With a wide toe box and a rugged sole I can get about a thousand miles of wear before they get kicked to the curb. I hike about 35 miles per week and over 12,000 vertical feet per week. It is important that your feet are comfortable...

This is my second pair of Keen trail shoes. I bought both the Targhee and the Ambler from Zappos since I really liked the look of both (you can never have too many shoes, right?) I decided to return the Ambler. Even though they fit perfectly I just thought they were too plain for the price. The Targhee II, on the other hand, fit just as perfectly, seemed to be built much more ruggedly, and had that really solid Keen trail shoe look / style. They felt very comfortable right out of the box. They provided excellent support and stability for a low cut trail shoe (Note: I actually never wear anything but boots for my frequent hikes. Between skiing and hiking I have broken my right leg/ankle twice already). In terms of sizing, I always wear a regular size 8. Zappos recommended that you go half a size up, but I ordered size 8 and they are a perfect fit. Either way, Zappos will take care of you. They are the best online retailer, period.

These shoes fit but are so heavy that I wear them for short periods of time. I do like this brand over all.

The Keens hiking shoes are always a full size too small. If you wear size 8.5 normally, order a size 9.5. Other than that, the shoes are very comfortable, I have several Keens, all are very comfortable from day one, no break in period, no blister on your feet!

This is my 4th pair of Targhee. I am a private gardener who had a back injury 10 years ago. Since my injury I am very careful what shoes I put on my feet. I have only worn Keen Hiking Shoes, Danskos, Crocs, Born, Mephisto. I had worn Merrells but switched two years ago to Keen Targhee. I ordered 4 pairs of hiking shoes that were rated the best and did not care about price and Targhee won out. I wear these 8 hours a day through water, mud, mulch and the only thing that wears out is the heel, but I am very careful about not wearing a worn shoe. The average person could buy these and they would last 5 years! I still have the other 2, had to force myself to throw the one pair out. Sometimes my jobs are really wet and muddy (new landscapes). I have a new pair now and wear them on clean jobs and eventually will wear them all the time. My husband now has a pair as well. I used to have my own exercise business so I know the value of a good shoe. I tested Reeboks for them and could not wear them the heel was not good for my back. I wear a size 8.5 and wear a 9. I also have somewhat wide feet. I totally love Zappos, the customer support team is wonderful!

This is the second time I've purchased these shoes for my husband. He LOVED the first pair and wore them everyday as his work shoe. So when after a year his old pair wore out, I found them again on Zappos. Keens are pretty popular shoes around our house and I would recommend them to anyone who has an active lifestyle.

Keen's are great shoes. this review is about Zappos. The pictured shoe, color gargoyle navy, looks black and grey. the shoe is actually all grey. just thought they should show the real picture. product is 5 stars. Zappos, 2 stars.

There are a nice shoe. I like the design because the toe is wider than most...but the overall fit is not too wide. They have sort of a square toe design that for me makes them very comfortable.

This is my fourth pair of Keens that I tried on. I own three different styles now. They are all different sizes. I wish Keen would pay attention to sizing. This will be my last pair of Keens. I purchased this pair feeling certain that I would love them since I got the Targhee Tall Boots a couple of years ago and they fit well. I purchased the same size based on that previous pair, however these feel narrower and are really bothering my feet even after I have tried breaking them in. At this point I am forced to go out and buy some other hiking shoes for an upcoming trip.

For hiking shoes and general use I buy almost strictly Keen now. I have experimented around and found them to be extremely durable and comfortable, especially if you have wide feet like myself. The Targhee II so far have been very resistant to water and very durable while enduring hiking some rugged and rocky mountains. Highly recommended.

These are excellent shoes. They have a well constructed sole, that is very supportive and immediately comfortable. I have flat feet and get great support without feeling as though though there is too much support. They are not as hot as other waterproof shoes that I have worn. If you look at the photos, you can clearly see these are wider cut shoes. I am not sure how it would work for narrower feet but these fit me perfectly without feeling cramped. They are highly recommended.

I am a big Keen fan. Have 5 pair of various styles. They always fit perfectly. This is the first one I ever got that felt just a wee bit short in the toe box. At first I thought it would be a problem, but I wore them right out of the box on a two week cruise in the Sea of Cortez hiking the desert and sand dunes. They felt fine. No problems. So I will give it a 5-star. Might be a little tight with really thick sox, or if you are busting down a really steep long trail, but I am going to guess that this is just a one time anomaly and not a big problem. I would still recommend ordering your regular size and try it out at home for a few days, just to be sure. Great intermediate shoe with solid support without the extra weight and warmth of a high top hiking model.

These shoes are so comfortable I don't mind that they fall apart in about 6 months. I'm on my 4th pair. They don't seem to keep my feet dry either but maybe that's because they are coming apart between sole and upper near ball of the foot. Lugs started to tear off last pair. To be fair I weigh 235 lbs and wear a size 13, maybe this shoe is too light duty for my weight, but I do keep buying them because they fit so well right out of the box. No break-in necessary.

Very nice quality. A little bit loose fit in the heel, but still a keeper. I use to buy shoes based on price and style. After 3 trips to a foot specialist with Achilles tendon issues, I've learned my lesson. I now buy what the Doc recommends. Love the Zappos videos and the perfect service.

I've had two pair of the original Targhee II, both 9's as I wear 8.5 normally. Ordered this pair in 9 and they slipped noticeably in the heel. Not good for all day hiking. Returned for an 8.5 and low and behold they fit perfect! Maybe Keen modified the design over the years to fit true to size now.
Love these shoes, a true low cut hiker that offers superb foot protection.

I found the heel to slip excessively and returned them. No way to tie the top laces tight to the top part of the ankle - the top loop follows the gray strap and pulls tight at the lower part.
