Here's the problem. I think these shoes will be fine in the correct size. I ordered them in a size men's 9 1/2. I received them in size 8 1/2. Needless to say, they sere too small. I will reorder and hope to receive the correct size.

Overall, I like these shoes. Great build, good support, aggressive sole. However, the heel is too wide for my foot causing it to slip up out of them with every step.

One year from the purchase date the Keen Tarahee II is no longer waterproof. I wore these for a year for honey-do projects and recently I had to trek through damp grass and they took in enough water to make a squishing noise with every step and my socks were damp after just a few hours of work. Also the soles have been hard since they were new and my feet felt tired because of it quickly even with my own high-quality insoles in them.

A nice pair of shoes and excellent fit. I was pleased to be able to order a size 14, medium.

Great “Farm Work Shoes” for someone who is very hard on shoes...

Couldn’t use women’s size 11, my usual size and women’s do not come in 11.5 ??. I got a size 9 in men’s should be equivalent to women’s Size 11 but too small also. Finally ordered a men’s 9.5 and I know I will love it!!!! Can’t wait to get em!

Love this shoe. I previously have the Keen boot, but wanted a shorter version to wear around home. Very comfortable right out of the box. I did order 1/2 size larger than I normally wear, and am glad I did. My feet love these shoes!

This is probably my 10th pair they are comfortable and I am on cement floor daily and these hold up great!!!!

I love these shoes! I wear them year round for work and hiking. My feet stay dry. Comfort- would give a 5 but, as I have aged I need a little more cushion on the inside. A pair of Dr. Scholls gel inserts did the trick. I have high arches and these are very supportive. I wore them right out of the box and did over 10 miles a day for 3 days. I will buy them again!

My husband loves these shoes. Fit him right out of the box and on to the trail! Waterproofing works great!

I should have read some reviews. Someone else said they felt puffy and that is spot on. Even though the shoe itself is very wide the interior was squeezing my foot from all sides. Same reviewer said they were walking out of them (heel not staying in) and that happened to me as well. I've never liked the 'style' of Keens but if you want your footgear to rock the Pinocchio or Mickey Mouse look, Keens fit the bill.

Many reviews said to order a half size larger as this sku runs small, so I did order the half size larger than my normal size. The shoes arrived promptly but they were way too large so I sent them back and a new pair in a smaller size was on it's way to me. Kudos to the agent who made sure I got the same discount as I had on the first pair and the new pair arrived just a few days later. Unfortunately, the new pair in a half size smaller felt pretty much like the first pair. Again, there are hundreds of excellent reviews on the Keen Targhee II so maybe I just have odd shaped feet. I love the look of the shoes but the design seems poor to me. I feel like my heel is slipping out as if the shoes were a size too large and the sole feels to rigid. It seems like it's mainly due to the design of the tongue. It seems like it should be attached closer to the top of the shoe. I can push the tongue so that it's fully within the top of the shoe and snug the laces over it but as soon as I take a few steps it pops right out and it feels like I didn't tie the laces snugly. This is also what makes it feel like my heel is slipping. I did keep the shoes as I didn't want to send them back again, I'll try some heel inserts and a sole insert to see if this helps.

This shoe is terrible for big footed people. Size 17 and they are so narrow they actually gave me big bruises on my toes. Something kept feeling like it was poking or stabbing me.

This is another testament to Keens awesomeness! This will be like my 20th pair of Keens I've owned, and they're awesome right out of the box. They fit like gloves from day 1.

Bought these for my son. He loves them. No problems from day 1. Traction is great.

Not sure what's going on...maybe it's how my hiker's feet are changing as I get older, but the Targhee II seem to have too much bulk under the lateral portion of the arch support. It basically tilts me into pronation, which I already struggle with. I own the Targhee hiking boots and do not not have this problem. Maybe it's the new style.

This is a great boot. Good support, comfortable, and well made. I wear orthotics and they work well in this boot. Keen hit a home run with this boot! Highly recommend.

Great outdoor work shoes, very sturdy, well worth the $$.

I love these shoes they wear very well. I would buy even more styles of these Keen shoes if they had more Wide sizes.

This is my third pair of these. They were shipped to me while I was traveling. The first day, was OK, and the second day they felt like they were made for me. A lot of the trails we were on were very rocky. The soles on these really protect your feet. I double knot all of my shoes and they never slip or come untied in miles of walking. No other reasonably priced hiking boots compare with the Targhee II

OK, here's my Targhee II saga- bear with me. I really liked the rugged good looks of this shoe, but I was quite concerned about the many reviews that I read that the shoe runs small. Nonetheless, I ordered my regular shoe size, Mens 12M. When I received my shoes, I tried them on, and sure enough, they were way too snug, with my toes all crumpled up inside the toe box. In this size range, there is no 12.5M, so if I wanted to wear the Targhee II, it would have to be a 13M. So I sent them back for an exchange. The 13's came and I tried them on. They felt cavernous- So much so that when I walked, not only would my heel come up with each step, but my foot would slide forward into the toe box and make contact with the front edge... I'll regress a bit here... I wanted these shoes for a planned trip to Norway, which was now upon me. I had other clothing and packing issues to consider, so I tossed the shoes into my suitcase, and figured I'd just wear some heavy socks or even two pair. Fast- forward to Oslo, a few days later. It was time for our first hike, and I grabbed my Targhee II's. It was then that I noticed what appeared to be a manufacturer's defect, a smudge of black rubber on the tongue of one shoe. But I needed to wear the shoes, so I did. And they weren't much better comfort wise, despite my attempts at several sock combinations. I also tried lacing them very tightly, in attempt to stop my foot from moving forward. This helped somewhat, but overall, I decided that my feet were just not made for these shoes. When I got back to New York, I decided to contact Zappos to see if they could help, knowing that by this time, I was outside of the return policy. I figured, although I had worn the shoes, there was a manufacturer's defect (the rubber smudge), and perhaps I could try something else. Zappos was very gracious in allowing me to return this, the second pair- However, I could not choose another shoe- THey would only replace them with the same Targhee II's. So I completed the exchange, and the third pair arrived. Disappointed by the entire process, I put the shoes in the closet and didn't forget about them, but didn't plan on wearing them anytime soon. OK, here's where it gets interesting. We planned a 6 mile hike at Mashomack Preserve on Shelter Island. I was planning on wearing my old Merrell mid hikers, which are quite comfortable. I went back to the closet where we keep our gear, and noticed the gleaming-new Targhee II's sitting on the shelf, for some two months now- I had never ebven tried them on. I thought, "what the heck", and slipped them on. Something was very different. Immediately I sensed a comfort that I hadn't with any of the previous pairs. So much so, that I had to take them off and examine the tongue to see if they were the correct size. Yep, 13M. So I decided to give it a go. Out on the trail, I noticed that I was NOT thinking about my feet, which is a GOOD thing! And when I did, I was delightfully surprised at the level of comfort. We completed the six miles with absolutely no issues (other than my sciatica), and then walked for another two hours around the streets of Greenport, NY. My Targhee II's feel like bedroom slippers- A slight heel rise with each step (these are the low-cut versions) but nothing bothersome, and my foot comfortable enshrouded within the shoe with no contact with the front of the toe box. I'm thrilled! So what does this tell the prospective Targhee II buyer? I don't really know, but I'm guessing that there is indeed some variation in the manufacturing process. Thank you, Zappos, for your accommodation. Keen? I don't know what to say, other than you really should offer half-sizes beyond size 12. And I can't wait for the next hike!

I Use these for a hard concrete floor. They feel great after an 8 hour day.

It was too small and doesn't feel like 16. I'm probably going to order 17s though because I like the style a lot.

Defective foot-bed. Had to return them. Twice. I had a pair of these exact shoes for more than a year and they were perfect. I wore them out. I ordered the exact same shoes and the foot bed on the inside is ridged so that it feels like you are walking on a group of pencils. If you take the liner out you can easily feel it. I ordered another pair and returned the first. The 2nd pair was worse. Same ridging in the for-foot area but also there was a large, rough ridge in the toe that felt like the footbed was somehow not placed all the way forward to the toe. Very disappointed. It appears that Keen has let their quality go right out the window.
