Terrific Keens!!! I just took mine off after a day of walking on all kinds of surfaces. My feet love these shoes. You do have to watch the size as most reviewers indicated they do run small. I had to order a whole size up to fit properly with a medium to heavy sock. I have yet to test the waterproof claims but the other Keens in my wardrobe have always passed the waterproof test. I have yet to be disappointed with Keen Shoes and I not own 6 pair of various types of Keen Shoes.

Excellent Boot - This is my 4th pair of Keen shoes; like always, I'm very pleased. This is a great boot for hiking or just leisure wear. I find that the shoe is true to size and I appreciate the roomy toe box; a consistent Keen trait. Would definitely purchase again.

Very pleased! Very pleased with the comfort and fit of this shoe. I went on a 5 mile "challenging" hike and my feet felt simply great. I will buy these again!

Usually I don't put stock in reviews...glad I listened! I have been suffering with plantar fasciitis. I'm doing all the home remedies...massage, ice, and rolling golf balls on my arch, chiropractor, & now physical therapy. I knew I needed some better shoes, as I am on my feet all day. I never heard of Keen, but after reading everyone's positive results, I knew I had nothing to lose. I just received them & don't want to take them off! Best arch support I have felt in a shoe or boot. It is like a constant reminder to my feet to stay strong & get better. Very lightweight as well, which is key. It feels like an orthodic shoe, but has absolute "outdoorsy" style. Now that's usually hard to come by, always having to choose style or function. Thanks to all for your reviews to help me make a wise choice & I thank Keen for making this boot. I questioned the tips to buy larger, but I listened. I am always a 9, and ordered 9.5 in these. Good thing, they fit well with medium thickness socks. Definitely go a half size larger.

Did what they were meant to do - Took them up the Mountaineer's route on Whitney - class 3-4. They did great, although they got pretty torn up. Comfortable, very stable just not very durable.

Keen boots - These boots are light and fit right. No break-in needed. Large toe box fits my foot nicely.

Great boots - The Targhee is comfy straight out of box! Keens are awesome! I own Taos ,Brooklyn Mid, Targhee low, Newport h2! Zappos service cannot be beat! Shoes arrived in record time! Don’t waste time at the mall! Order from Zappos! ‘nuff said!

Very Pleased With Fit - It's difficult but important finding shoes with good arch support and a comfortable fit, which is why I like all my Keens. The Targhee seems to run one size smaller than my other same size marked Keens.

Great hiking boots - I do a lot of hiking and backpacking and don't always stick to the trail. I have found these light hikers to be good on the trail and off. They have good ankle support and pretty good grip. But the thing I really like about them is that Keen comfort. They are the most comfortable hiking boot I've ever had.

KEEN ON KEEN - I love the fit and look of Keen boots and shoes in general and although I’m a woman I still wanted the mid style Targhee and ordered it in my usual men’s size and found it to be a full size too small just like another pair of Keens that I have. So once you figure out their sizing these are great shoes.

The best hiking boot I've ever owned - I do not know what it is about the Keen styling, but they are the best fitting shoes I've ever owned (I now have 5 pairs!) I am female, and I feel no difference in the mens and womens cut, but the mens size seems better in length. They fit better and are more comfy than my more expensive LLBean Hikers, which I will probably sell on eBay now!

Great!! The typical Keen experience, a great shoe, very light and comfortable. I took the reviewers advice and ordered a half size large, the fit is good. These aren't as wide as other Keen shoes, but still fit very well.

Great work shoe - I bought this shoe as a gift for my husband. The shoe runs a 1/2 size smaller. He works 15 hour days and needed another pair of shoes. He is a real critic on shoes & he really loves the shoe, no break in period on any Keen we have bought so far. Keen is the most comfortable shoe brand I have ever worked in. I have the Monterey & absolutely love it. I have recommended this brand to everyone I work with. I wish they made women's Mid. Thanks!!!

just a great light boot - Fits as expected, is very tough and looks good too. Why would we need anything else.

Two paws up... In the human world, we are devoid of natural claws for grip and climbing, thus we must compensate for such through the use of shoes. In my book, the Keen Targhee are among the best "claws" available. I'm a big fan of Merrell, Vasque, La Sportiva, and now Keen. Although the Targhee runs a bit narrow and perhaps a half-size small (I wear a 13 and had to re-order a 14 in the Targhee), when fit correctly, they are very comfortable. The cool thing is that the Targhee looks aggressive AND it functions well with deep, wide lugs that have great grip and seem to be moderately self-cleaning. While not as "claw-like" as maybe the La Sportiva Pingora or Makalus, the Targhee are a great balance. Waterproof, cool looking, and durable - they get two paws up from this wolf.

Awesome shoe - Awesome shoe! Bought it for my husband, wish they made the women's in a mid too. Great look and great feel, as is typical for Keen.

Between heaven and earth! Perfect for mild weather hiking. Foot bed more narrow than sandals for better feel over rocks. Good grip on wet rocks; be careful on the slicks though. Pretty good ankle support. Thick socks might be a problem in cold weather.

I've had these boots for 4 years and the uppers are doing great, but the sole is falling off. I don't mind buying another pair, but I hate that they would still be great if the sole had been glued on better.

Comfortable spite being a tad short. Could use one more hook lace at top.

I bought these boots a few months ago because I needed a waterproof boot for those occasions when I know is will be fording small streams. I have worn them for hiking several times. They are indeed waterproof, provide good ankle support, and the sole platform is very firm and stable. The toe box is nice and roomy, and my feet don't slide forward on the downhills. However, after four months of weekly hiking, they still feel very stiff against my ankles, and I still have to tape my feet in places to avoid getting blisters. I have worn the Keen Voyageur for a few years, and have never had a blister from those boots. If you want an excellent hiking boot and don't need them to be waterproof, I would strongly suggest the Voyageur instead of the Targhee. The Voyageur is lighter, cooler, more flexible and overall more comfortable than the Targhee. Nevertheless, I will always choose Keen over any other boot that I have worn. I always get Keens in half a size larger than my regular size.

These are very comfortable mid-hikers with just one quibble. The tongue is just a touch short which allows the lace knot to rest either at the veryu top of the tongue, or directly on top of the ankle. This may be a minor issue for some, but it could cause irritation for others.

Happy feet & smilin' toes - These boots have exceeded my expectations in all areas after 3 weeks and 150 miles, on relatively tame terrain under all weather conditions. They were comfortable from day one and have remained so on 12-14 average hour days. They feel like lightweight sneakers, but they also feel really sturdy...they have excellent ankle and lateral support (I have a tendency to roll my ankles on the slightest uneven surface and these boots have kept things rock-solid so far), along with exceptional traction in both wet and dry conditions. I've been out in extreme downpours, stepping in wet brush and puddles and the Keens have kept my feet perfectly dry. I like the sole tread pattern, which self-cleans easily and appears to be made of different composition materials on alternating lugs -- maybe this is why the traction is so good. Keen's trademark style is unique and very cool; materials, workmanship and overall quality appear to be top notch. Buy 1/2 size larger and your feet will thank you all day long.

Low-intensity, very comfortable boot These are good, comfortable boots that require no break-in time. I wear them every day for my regular shoe. They're definitely not for serious hiking, but I didn't expect them to be. When I'm not wearing these, I'm wearing running shoes or Keen river sandals. I wear a size 10-1/2 in the Keen sandals, but size 11 in this boot.

The best boot out there this year - The Keen Targhee provides room for your toes and a soft sole to cushion your feet. It's nice and light. The only problem is some decorative stuff on the tongue, above the toes. When I bend my foot, it bites into the top of my foot. I solved the problem by re-lacing so that this area was bypassed. A very, very comfy boot. You MUST order 1/2 size larger.

Keen? Never heard of it. And, they look funky. That's all good. I have NEVER worn shoes like these Keen models. I now have 3 different pairs, 2 Providence models, and the Targhee. Each pair seems to be molded for my feet. I have discovered as of late, that my left foot is a wee bit longer than my right. A minor issue. If these are boots, well, I think they weigh less than my clogs; and that’s a good thing. The arch support is good, and the heel cushioning is good. If I had a pair of 10's right here, I'd try them on; but I don't feel the need to return the 9.5's. But, they may be just a little tight and short. Big fat socks, watch out. It's funny now that it seems some Keen models fit PERFECTLY true to size, but the mid's seem, maybe, a 1/4 size small. But these Keen shoes are just unbelievable out of the box, and the look is right there. The toe guard will be patented; it's a big plus for kicking things :-). I really cannot say enough about how these shoes feel. I do A LOT of walking, and need a light shoe (boot for winter). I'm a visiting RN, so I'm in and out of my car like 8 times a day. The sole looks very self cleaning. I'm hoping they'll loosen up a little, but again, I can't wait to test drive them. Supportive, light, hip. You are hooked up!
