I loved these as soon as I put them on. They are light weight and the foot bed has lots of room. There is incredible arch support which could feel tight in the middle to some people but you will be glad for it, believe me.The laces sort of snap in to the upper catches, which hold them while you tie. The laces also have sort of a loose jacket over a textured core and I find that I do not have to double knot them since they do not come loose. I really like the wrap around sole and have never hurt my toes while wearing these. On the negative side, these shoes are not too good at keeping the water out when fording even shallow creeks or puddles and my feet get quite stinky by the end of the day. I am used to a pare of leather Danners with which I could get away with wearing the same socks for a week without the stinks. I think it is the leather that makes the difference. These are great shoes for the money, light weight, great support and very good fit and finish. I would buy these shoes again and would love to see a full grain one piece leather upper with this sole.

I\'m a woman and I usually wear a 9-9.5. I read that these run a bit small so I tried on other mens\' shoes before buying. I settled on the 8.5 and it fits great! I\'ve been wearing them to work just to see how they feel, and I actually went hiking in the woods with them yesterday for about an hour. The only downside to them is they are pretty warm, because they\'re waterproof and not very breathable. However, I think it\'s better to have waterproofing. I plan to do a lot of backpacking in these!

Got these for the specific purpose for a 10 mile round trip, day hike in the Smoky Mountains. They were great! Barely got to break them in before the hike and no blisters. The rubber toe guard is something I came to appreciate too, since I banged into the edges of a couple of rocks on the hike. Seem to be waterproof too, though I didn't really get to test out how dry they keep it. Only complaint is they get a bit hot.

Love 'em! Ordered and received in time for a hiking trip in the Davis MTs in West Texas and Carlsbad Caverns. Size 15's are light weight, very comfortable. E-Z slip on by simply untying and unhooking top. You don't have to unlace. Great traction on sloping, wet surfaces.

I bought these shoes to replace a pair just like them for my husband. These are by far his favorite shoes. Rain, snow or sunshine, he is most likely to wear these when going outside. They keep his feet warm and dry and hold up extremely well.

Love Stuart Weitzman! Have many pairs. The heel height is perfect. I must say that this style is narrower than some of the other styles. I would like to go up a half size to get more width but no 8.5 are avail. Debating having my cobbler stretch the toe or return. : (

These shoes are perfect for me.
I now have three pair of Targhees. Two in the lower cut and one pair in the Mid. Comfort is my only criterion, but I even like the way they look. I wear them almost every day.

The bomb hiking boot -
These boots are the most comfortable hiking boot I’ve ever owned. Light enough to run trails but solid enough to do more rugged hikes, living in the great northwest, waterproof is a great feature.

Amazing Service and Great Hiking Boot -
I ordered my boots on Memorial Day in the late afternoon. They arrived the next day. That is amazing service without a doubt. I love the Keen boots. They are comfortable and a short hike proved they will not need much in the way of break-in. I will recommend you to my hiking friends.

Great light hiking boot -
Great boot for people with wide feet, even though these do not run wide, they have a very wide toe box. Feels good, makes hiking easy, and has a good grip. Big change from heavy awkward hiking boots, and a pleasure to wear all day. Go up a 1/2 size for a better fit.

As far as comfort level this is my shoe of choice so far. This is the first shoe I have put on in a long time and said, yes! This is the one for me. Apparently I have a high arch and this shoe offered great arch support. I liked them so much that I plan to buy 2 more pair (I live in a rural area so satisfactory shoes are hard to come by). As far as durability, I don’t know yet but if they last 3 months I'll be very happy.

Great Canyon hiking boot!!
Keen is top rate for Morton's Neuroma! It's difficult to find women's shoes wide enough for this problem so I've been wearing wide men's Nikes most days at work. I ordered a size 10 men's Targhee Mid, then thought they were too big (I'm a women's 10) and bought two other pairs of boots, trained in all of them and ended up with big pain with the other two pairs despite using my custom orthotics.
So took these Keen's, with my orthotics under the Keen insole, to Grand Canyon for a 12 mile round trip hike down to Plateau Point and back up to the rim with at least 20 lbs in my pack. I too read that these boots don't hold up well, and was also told they weren't strong enough for backpacking with even 15 lbs. What can I say? I am SO GLAD I took these! No pain, no blisters, plenty of toe room - had no trouble getting a tight fit around the ankles and so had no downhill toe pain. I wore them the whole trip including down the Kaibab trail a ways. These are the only boots with a wide enough toe box for my foot problems!! Am ordering a pair of Keen Boston II for work because I'm on my feet all day. I kind of like the style, but WHO CARES what they look like if my foot doesn't cramp up after one measly hour? These Keen's also leaked the least and were the warmest of the three pairs I trained in, yet I did not have overheated feet in the Canyon.

Targhee's Rock!
The Targhee Mid II 's are the best hiking boots I have ever owned. Super comfortable, great looking, plenty of support and very light.
I look forward to many miles a comfortable hiking. This is my second pair of Keens and I swear by the fit. However, best to order a half size larger.

Keen Targhee II -
I was amazed at how light this boot is. When I received the box I wondered if they had forgotten to put the boots in. I have a wide foot and for those of you with the same situation, you know how hard it is to find a boot that feels good when it is brand new. This boot was comfortable right out of the box. The only drawback that I found in the boot was that the ankle support seemed to be lacking. Overall a great boot.

For girls too! - Best Hiking Boots Out of the Box!
These boots have withstood ten hour days on concrete without making my legs tired. They are amazingly comfortable. I wear a perfect 9.5 in ladies and ordered size 9 in mens - they run small, so make room for your socks and get gone! If Keen produced these boots in fashionable colors, they'd be a sellout.

A Solid Choice -
These boots are as described: comfortable, stable, well-cushioned. The asymmetrical, highly aggressive tread is excellent for rough trails, snow, and ice. It is not insulated, so a good year-round shoe.
Based on reviewers' good counsel, I ordered a 1/2 size up with perfect results. Easy to put on and lacing up tight is a simple pull. Had never heard of Keen, but I'm a convert.

After hiking for years in a mid $ boot, I decided to try a pair of the Keen Targhee mids on at a local trail shop. I was surprised at how comfortable these boots were and started to read some reviews about this boot. After reading several reviews I decided to purchase these boots from my local trail shop only to find out that he was sold out. I purchased my boots from Zappos (great customer service) and received them 2 days later. I took them out of the box and went on an 8 mile hike around Springer mtn., the next week I went on a 6 mile hike in the Smokey Mtn. National Park. I feel compelled to write a review, without hesitation because it is by far the best boot I've ever worn. This boot required no break-in and kept my feet warm in snow and mud. I experienced no pressure spots or blisters, the extra wide toe box made it feel like I was walking around the house in slippers. I did order the boots a 1/2 size larger than my HiTec boots as suggested in several reviews. The rubber toe guard has protected the boot from tearing up when I catch the toe on overhanging rocks ect. on the trails. Great boot for hiking!

Targhee review -
I am a true Keen fan and have been wearing them for years. Always buy a 1/2 size larger. These boots are very light and were bought for extra ankle support for working in a very hot outside environment. Keens are always very roomy in the toebox and these shoes give great arch and ankle support. Reviews I read indicate they "don't hold up", that's a wait and see at this point. I really like the boot, very light, looks good and is a very secure fit. Highly Recommended.

Outdoes the competition in arch support, comfort, looks, ...
Right out of the box this shoe is comfortable enough to go hiking. The arch support is exceptional, the comfort is great, the patented toe box is superb and above the competition, lace up system feels snug with minimal slip. True to size.

I bought the Keen boots because I play year round golf. Here in Washington dry, warm, and comfortable are the key requirements. These don't disappoint; 18 holes right out of the box. They do run small, a size to size and one half. Absolutely first rate. I have three pairs of Keens about all I wear.
