Let me start with I love Zappos and Keen. These shoes are well made, stylish, and I think they would have been very functional. They were just ridiculously small. I went from an 11 wide to a 12 wide and would have had to go bigger to be comfortable for any amount of time. I gave up after three tries.

Perfect fit

I love Keens and I love Zappos but this is the most under sized shoe ever. I’m up to a 12 wide and still way to tight on my 11-11 1/2 foot. Great quality, light weight, good looking but so small and tight.

This is my husband’s third pair of these. He’s tried others, but keeps coming back to these for his work boot every time. Anything else hurts his feet. Not these.

Bought these for a family hiking trip - husband loved them right out of the box. True fit and Keen quality and styling. They barely needed to be broken in- very comfortable on a moderate trail with slippery, wet stone surfaces and mud. These will last for a while, I am sure, but they would be a shoe I would buy a second time (or in a women's size/colorway).

I was trading up from a worn out pair of Keen hiking boots that I had loved to death (literally wore them out with hard use for several years). Same great fit, although the mid style requires a little more care with lacing to not chafe my ankles. Completely water proof: one of my regular hikes involves crossing a vey low stream and I've never had water enter the boots. I hope they keep making these for many more years so I can get another pair when these wear out.

It was time to replace my old Keen boots so I picked these. Very happy with purchase. Comfortable as always. I always go at least a half size larger on Keen.

I got these boots as casual, all-purpose footwear for walking in the city, traveling, etc. I'm size 13 but ordered size 14 after reading previous reviews and I'm glad I did, for the boots fit me perfectly. I've only used the boots a few times, but they seem comfortable and sturdy.

I love the Keen Targhee II mid boot. This is my go-to, everyday shoe. I have ankle problems (several surgeries), and this is the only thing I've found that I can wear for extended periods with no pain. I put my own orthotics in the boots (I use Superfeet), and they're perfect. I actually have three pair--one pair that's all leather; one that's leather and fabric and a second pair of the leather and fabric in reserve (in case I have trouble finding them when I need a new pair). I don't wear anything but my Keens. I love them!

This is the 4th pair I have purchased for my husband. He loves them. He has a high arch, bad knees and some back issues. These keep him going all day without pain when wearing other boots. You will not be disappointed! Well worth the purchase.

Got me some happy feet! My wife has a pair of Keen’s that are virtually identical, and I have coveted hers for quite some time. Decided that it was high time I had a pair of my own. I love these shoes. Extremely comfortable, for walking on trails or for climbing more rugged terrain. Great comfort, great look — very happy with this purchase.

Excellent Keen hiker. Fit and finish perfect. Comfort excellent. Style typical Keen i.e., rounded toe and wide toe box. Highly recommend.

Another winning addition to my collection of Keen’s. I have bad knees, a bad hip, and feet that are the result of years of abuse. I bought my first pair of Keens over 10 years ago, and other than a pair of crocs I wear around the house all of my shoes, work and hiking boots and sandals are Keen. This pair I ordered to wear while I’m managing a tailgating venue for the Louisville Cardinals. I put them on first time Saturday morning of the first home game. It proceeded to monsoon rain, and I spent 9 hours walking the lot. My feet stayed dry even though there was 2-3 inches of standing water everywhere. My Fitbit shows I walked 32,000 steps and 11.5 miles in a brand new pair of boots. Keens, for me, never need a break in period, are always true to size, and hold up very well. I have 11 pairs of hiking, work, and casual shoes and boots from Keen. Well worth the price!

Background: I made a wardrobe choice, a few years back, to stop wearing sneakers and Toms everyday and to wear something beefier for my everyday shoes. In the past, I chose steel-toe boots as my everyday boot because they were hearty, protective, and fit my style. In the past year, I started hiking more often (average two 6-mile hikes per week), and I needed something more suitable for the dry, loose, slick SoCal dirt. After researching and trying a couple different boots (eg cheap Colemans, and super-pricey Danner RAT boots), I came across this pair of Keens. Good ankle support, not too heavy, the style fit my wardrobe, and the sole pattern is pretty good in the loose, slick SoCal dirt. If you're looking for a decent pair of boots for hiking or everyday wear, this is a solid choice. Keens are very comfortable and reputable. One of the few pair of shoes I purchased that fit and feel very comfortable. Also bought a similar pair of Keen's for my son a year ago, he is still enjoying them.

Put them on rite out of the box, fits great and are lighter than expected. Would buy these again.

I don't know why I switched back to wearing Merrell's..I have always worn Keen or Asolo. Back on the Keen train. Right out of the box these are the most comfortable shoe/boots I have bought in the last 2 years ( I go through a lot of boots). If you want comfort and utility without your shoes falling apart when they get wet, then these are for you!

Perfect fit !! I'll buy another pair in about 6-8 months. I on concrete a lot each day and I'm heavy -- these boots really work well for me !

Feels a lot stiffer and more substantial than the Keen Gypsum II. A good pair of hiking shoes with excellent ankle support for light to moderate hiking. I usually hike on or close to fire roads so it fits my needs perfectly. Needs some breaking in for it to mold to your feet, as with other shoes, but I also wear it walking my dogs to continue breaking it in. It's not as well ventilated though but is a lot stiffer than the Keen Gypsum II. If its real hot, I prefer the Gypsum II but if the terrain is rougher, I choose the Targhee II. Also, this is my fifth pair of Keen hiking shoes. I also have 2 pairs of Salomons, which I find to be less comfortable but more durable than Keens.

Honestly the greatest hiking/ work boot I've ever worn. I've worn through three pairs of these over about 10 years and they never fail in comfort or durability. I easily walk (according to fitbit) 25k steps a day and I barely notice my shoes, until I take them off. Because they're waterproof they're not the most breathable but it's an easy trade for the comfort and reliability of these boots. I've had them on trails as well as frozen streets and they never fail.

I've worn these boots almost everyday for 2 months now. They are by far the most comfortable boot I've ever put on my feet. I will definitely be reordering these again when I wear them out. Highly recommend!

Wide is not wide enough… And they don't make X Wide.
