Comfortable, warm, stylish - and perfect for winters in the northeast. They fit true to size and are classic. I love them - my fourth pair of La Canadiennes, and I love them all. Fantastic service and response from Zappos.

I love these! I spent months just reading the reviews and trying every other possible pair of boots (thanks, Zappos!) until coming back a full circle to these. They are beautiful, look great with skirts, (much more elegant in person!) comfortable and quality. You get what you pay for! They are snug in the ankles, but I love that for the added support. I was worried that the boot was narrow at first, but the size wide is wide throughout the boot, and they are stretching a tad already. La Canadienne's waterproof trademark was key for me in slushy Chicago city. I tried many styles and note and they are a more narrow style on the leg- which I love! No breaking-in period!

Comfortable and stylish! I tried on probably 12 pairs of boots before I found these. They fit right around the ankle and in the foot. No burning soles or blisters.

This is the first boot I've ever owned, and I love it! I have flat feet, and my left foot in particular overpronates. I was afraid the boot would be uncomfortable around the inner ankle, but that is not the case at all. The last is nearly straight, and that feels good to my flat/overpronating feet as well. Also, my big toes are longer than average, making many shoes uncomfortable. The toe box on this boot is roomy enough to work well with my feet. The leather is beautiful and the construction excellent. I am thrilled with these boots!

As usual, I am more than happy - La Canadienne's boots fit me perfectly. Even though I try other brands, I keep coming back. They are a well made boot, look great and are comfortable. And add to that the exceptional service you get with Zappos!!! What more does one need?

Good everyday boot - This is a very comfortable, classic style everyday boot. Good for skirts or pants. Snug at calves, so not for big calves, and not a tuck-in-jean boot. I like the weather worry-free characteristic of this boot! Not for those needing more arch support.

Fantastic Boots - I really love these boots. I bought for a business meeting in Canada. They were so comfortable and stylish with my long skirt during the day and they were warm going out at night. You could use a warm sock with them, but they were indeed waterproof. I am going to order in another color as well. Got many compliments as well.

Classic Comfortable Boot - This boot is more or less ideal if what you're looking for is high quality leather, clean lines, and major comfort. The inside of the boot is lined with microfiber that keeps you warm and cozy, and the leather upper keeps looking better with every wear. While the calf circumference on this boot is narrower than most others with similar styling, it will still be large on skinny calves - - I have average-to-skinny calves and they are perfect with or without pants tucked in. I highly recommend this boot!

I normally wear a size 8 and have a slight wide foot. These boots felt too small. They also feel stiff so sizing up was not an option. They are lovely boots... but comfort is a must for me.

This was rated as having moderate arch support; this had NONE by my standards. I have heel spurs and wear shoes such as Abeo, Birkenstock, Merrell, Ariat and inserts from Lucky Feet (these allow me to still wear my uggs and adidas). I am going to try a few more styles before I give up on La Canadienne because I need a warm waterproof boot for travel (lot's of walking). Also, I ordered the wide and my 15.5" calf could barely close and felt restricting. In my opinion only two things were true about what I read in other reviews: The quality of the materials and workmanship, and the warmth.

I ordered this boot in hopes that it would fit my skinny calves; various online summaries of it disagreed about the circumference. My calf measures 13", which means that most boots are way too wide at the calf. This boot wasn't as bad as some in that regard, but it still left too big a gap below the knee. I had ordered a 6.5 wide (because of a bunion), so I then ordered a 6 wide, hoping that the circumference of the boot would be proportionately smaller. But if there was any difference in the calf circumference between the two sizes, it was insignificant. These are really well-made, classy-looking boots, so I hated to return them. But I would have hated even more wearing them if they weren't a good fit for my skinny legs.

Very comfortable right out of the box on my size 12 foot. Plenty of room in the toe box. Did put on slightly thicker socks which took care of the small amount of slippage. First boot I have every purchased and can't wait to wear them!

Very attractive for all weather boot, however, this boot is better for a medium to wide foot and calf. They were sloppy on my feet and calves.

Practical and comfortable, but not the cutest - This boot is very comfortable and practical. I was looking for something that would look "sexy" for going out to dinner with my husband and unfortunately this doesn't quite fit the bill. They do look better with a skirt than with skinny jeans so if I wear a skirt it helps a bit. With the skinny jeans I kind of look like I'm entering the military which is not a good look. So I'm very pleased with the comfort level (I stood in them for 8 hours at a gift show and was totally fine) I am a little regretful that I didn't find something a little more attractive. By the way, I have extremely thin calves measuring 12.5" and these work ok. I may eventually take them in a bit, but they don't look horrible having a gap.

Beautiful, with one small flaw - Passion is a beautiful, very close-fitting boot. My foot is narrow, my legs skinny, but this boot hugs foot & leg up to the calf, where it gaps a bit. I would not buy any brand other than La Canadienne, because no others look so good and are also completely waterproof. These give any long skirt a wonderfully sophisticated appearance--they make for a transformation compared to the look long skirts had with the conventional knee-high leather boots I'd been wearing. The noteworthy flaw: when worn with stockings, the boots slightly snag and darken them on the inside near the zipper closure (even though the closure seems to be covered by a leather flap). When I tried the boots with a bare leg, I felt scratched on one leg. I hope these problems will lessen. Meanwhile, I'm wearing the boots mainly with knee socks, which don't show under long skirts. The boots should look great with very short skirts, which are my strong suit but which do require tights or stockings.

Footbed fits great, shaft is sloppy. All the reviews that say the footbed is comfortable are right on; it is! True to size in both length and width. However, the calf is so big and floppy that it wasn't attractive at all, so back they go. The leather is soft and the fleece lining seems warm. For this price the fit has to be good, and I didn't feel like spending more money to get the shaft taken in. Alas, the search for the perfect boot continues.

These size 8 boots were huge on me, a full inch too long. I would order them smaller but the calf width at the top of the boot is a full 2-3 inches too wide! And I have large calves from years working out and as a dancer. I don't know who these are made for, but not me!

I originally ordered a 10w ( my usual size), but, had to return as the ball of the sole felt like a medium. I then ordered the 10ww thinking that would work. The boots felt 1/2 size longer, slightly larger in the shaft area, but, no difference in the ball of the foot, unfortunately, have to return.

I have been searching for the perfect black tall riding boots for so long. After reading many of the reviews on the La Canadienne boots, I thought I might have found something to fit my very slim calves and long legs. I am 5'7" and my calves measure 12 1/2 inches. These were supposed to be tall and slim! NOT at all. When I tried them on even over skinny jeans, they gapped out quite a bit in the calf area, perhaps about 2 inches too wide and they are not tall enough either. I also did not agree that they were very comfortable since there is almost no padding in the footbed. The black suede color rubbed off on my skin after just a few minutes of trying them on. I have to return them and keep looking. Zappos is great about service and I will keep trying!

The boot itself is great- it fit me like a glove trying it on. However Zappos sent me a pair that had the right boot scratched and they came folded over, not in their original box. Surprising considering that I ordered a new pair and the price tag.

This is a very well made and beautiful boot. I also have them in suede and patent. I wish they’d bring the patents back because I get so many compliments. Leather is supple and they are comfortable out of the box.

I have wide feet with bunions so comfort is super important to me. These shoes fit beautifully and were very comfortable to walk in . The quality and the sizing are both perfect.

LOVE love these boots! High quality, super comfortable, well made! Normally wear a size 6 boots, and this was perfect.

LOVE these knee high boots. Had to try three different sizes to get the right fit -went down a half size though a full size may have been OK if I had a super narrow foot (I don't!). Per the brand they are super comfortable, easy to get on/off ...I could wear them all day! Highly recommend
