Alas, back they went. The shaft too wide for my 13" calves. My son said the base of the boots looked nice, but the top "funny." I was desperate enough for a WW classic, functional boot to a) pay this much and b) consider taking them to a cobbler to see if the lovely soft leather on the shaft could be taken in a bit. But I will resign myself to booties until a manufacturer comes up with a way to fit my generally small frame with -- unfortunately -- very wide feet.

I loved these boots so simple and comfy but just a bit to tight on my calves. My calves measure 15’. So sadly I had to return.

These boots are beautiful and supple; the leather is high quality and the boots are well designed. I was surprised though that boots this expensive (and this was a big purchase compared to previous boots I've purchased) that there seemed to be absolutely no arch support. The other main reason I am returning them is that the calves were much wider than the stated calf circumference on the site. This may be because I ordered a 6.5 wide but I still expected the calf circumference to be about the stated number; they were at least 2 inches wider. Too bad because they are beautiful.

This could be the best boots ever. Its true, they look boring. But there's nothing boring about a classic, boot that looks great, just a bit of a heel for a lift, but still flat to walk all day -- not too baggy around the ankles, sleek in the shaft, but not tight. The lining is cozy warm, even the footbed. First day, I walked all around New York smiling because my feet were warm. Having moved back Northeast from Florida, I need warm boots and now I look forward to braving January!

This my first purchase from Zappos. Thank you Zappos. You were courteous and efficient. I'll shop with you again. My boots are beautiful! The leather is nice and soft and waterproof. The soles don't look like my hiking boots (I didn't want them to), but they do seem to be non skid. Best of all they fit perfectly. I have a hard to fit wide foot and a damaged ankle that limits heel height (not too high and not too low). The only warning I have for other would be purchasers -my calf is 14 1/2 inches at the widest. Any wider might be a problem.

This boot is beautiful and the leather is supple! Very comfortable. I wear a 7 in a shoe without a sock (like a heel or slip on) and a 7.5 if I want to wear socks. I bought this in a 7.5 and it fits well with pantyhose or a thin sock. Gorgeous!

These boots are worth the price. They are very comfortable and needed no break-in period. The insulation and traction are perfect for snow. They are quickly becoming my go-to boots.

These are amazing. The perfect boot does exist! They fit comfortably from the very first wearing. They look great with skinny jeans, slacks, skirts and dresses. I wore them to a trade show -- 12 hours on a concrete floor -- and not a single blister. :)

Great pair of boots, looks so much better in person than in the pictures. Comfortable right out of the box, just got 'em, and they feel like I have had them for years. Beautiful. This is my 4th pair of La Canadiennes and in my opinion they are the best boots around for the comfort, quality, waterproof and beauty.

It is very difficult to find knee-high boots when you are short and have slim calves, but these worked for me. Yes, they flare a bit at the top (see other reviews re this), but since I only wear them with pants tucked in, it is not a problem. They are extremely comfortable, classic-style and well-made. I have gotten a lot of wear out of them already.

Love these boots. Ordered a pair of Ugg's at the same time and sent the Ugg's back after trying on the La Canadienne's. They are very versatile and look great with dresses or leggings and jeans. Very comfortable and really top quality. Sexy too. Agree with other reviewers about fitting jeans in the boot, would be difficult as not a lot of room unless one has very thin calves, but they work with leggings fine. Would definitely recommend.

These boots are very comfortable. I walked around in them for an entire day and never felt uncomfortable. I would definitely buy another pair.

These are sweet boots and worth the price. They're waterproof with textured soles and a warm lining... so practical. Yet they're sleek enough to be refined. I agree with another reviewer who said she liked the trim ankles. They are a teeny bit large for me, but that means I can put a warm sock on, yet I can also wear them with just tights. Plus they are made in North America. That's a plus for me.

These are very comfortable boots. I have worn them walking around the city several times. The lining also helps keep you warm on cold days. I would highly recommend these. La Canadienne are the best for stylish winter boots.

Such a nice boot! I picked this one over the Stefanie because I liked the plainer look, thinking it could be dressed up or down more easily. It goes great with leggings and skinny jeans as well as with dresses. I have gotten a lot of complements on them. The boots are comfortable to wear all day long, and the lining is really soft and pretty warm. They're on the pricier side, but I have been looking for a great pair of boots for probably over a year before finding these with the right look and fit. It has a smaller circumference than a lot of others that I've seen, so fits snugger on the calves without leaving a big gap.

These are of course well made, but I was not fond of the look. They are a little plain and I didn't like the heel. I returned them and bought the shane, which I absolutely love. You really can't go wrong with La Canadienne.

You will not be disappointed in these boots. They are beautiful, comfortable, and of very high quality. They are unadorned but still stylish. I am considering a second pair in another color. They are worth the money.

I love these boots. They look awesome on. Very, very flattering. Perfect casual everyday boots that can also be dressed up with a skirt or dress. So comfortable. I have a terrible time finding boots that fit my skinny calves and do not look like buckets on me. These fit perfectly. They are the best boots I've ever bought. Worth the money. If you're looking for something to wear with your skinny jeans when you run around doing errands and want to look effortlessly chic, buy these. I got the black suede. I think the suede looks the best because in regular leather they'd be sort of plain.

These boots run true to size and are great quality. What I love about them that is different from all of the millions of other black leather boots out there is that the area around the ankle is more defined; they are more fitted in this area. I dislike boots that look undefined and are barrel shaped - not these! With this small but hard to find attribute, I felt that paying a higher price was worth it. Plus, the leather is very soft and the boot has a substantial heel.

Love them, they are the perfect everyday simple boot. They also have a little bit of a lining to keep you warm.

Updating my review of these boots after having worn them around Scotland for 2 weeks. They are just as good as I anticipated! I wore them for the first time for 24 hours straight (on plane and getting to hotel and walking around town while our room was made ready), and though they had felt a little stiff at first, by the end of that time they were nicely broken in and my feet had no blisters! They looked and felt great with socks or tights.

These are the best boots I have ever owned. They are classic, stylish and very comfortable. This is my 3rd pair. They are well constructed and my legs don't feel like they are dragging something clunky when I walk in them.

I bought these boots to wear in Paris for one week. They arrived the night before and I must have walked 100 miles in these boots without wearing them in beforehand. Not 1 blister. They were 100% waterproof but not too warm. Fantastic brand (my 1st time buying them), will hold on to them for life!
