La Canadienne Passion - I almost returned this boot; glad I didn't! I looked and looked for something that was a little more stylish with a square toe. But, this is a classic looking boot, and comfortable for walking on NYC sidewalks. I usually wear a 9 in boots, but the 8.5 fits perfectly.

Comfy boot - but shorter than expected - I was looking for comfy basic boots that would go with everything. This came very close to what I was looking for, but the calf area was too loose for my taste. I also found that the shoe was half a size too big.

Small Calf??? The calf circumference of these boots is listed as 12", but the pair I got measured around 15.5", which was huge on my 13" calves. I'm guessing that they make the calf bigger in larger shoe sizes (I'm size 11), so this is just to let other big-footed gals know that the calf is much larger than listed if you wear a larger size.

In terms of aesthetics, these look much more high end in the photos. In person, they are utilitarian-looking, simple, classic but also basic. They are lined with some kind of flannel business that makes them very warm. But I live in LA so that isn’t really isn’t a selling point for me. If you are in the Midwest I imagine these boots are great. They do seem very sturdy and they were comfortable.

Too tight in the calf area. Can’t zip. I am a walker and do leg workouts, but my calves are not overly large.

For the price point, the quality of the leather and fit was disappointing.

The 8.5 was too small, the 9 requires and orthotic insert inside for both filling space and adding arch support. But I am making it work ~ these will last me another 10 years lol! LaCanadienne is an all time favorite for me as far as quality and comfort and durability are concerned.

I wanted to love these boots, but they just miss the mark.I ordered the black suede, which I thought would be cute with skirts and leggings, in a 9 1/2 wide. The width was okay, and the heel was nice and trim, like I need, but in comparison the shaft was huge. I have a good inch of material floating around my calf and it looks ridiculous. These are not my first pair of Canadiennes, and I expected them to be more like my old pair. These don't have much pizazz, which I could live with, but their line just seems to be off. They don't feel right when I walk, and seem to tug and pull where they shouldn't. They also have a very uncomfortable footbed; no padding at all. Just for reference I noted that the Jennifer has a smaller shaft, but unfortunately they were out of stock in my size. I'm not willing to pay this much for boots that are so much off the mark, even if I am desperate for a new pair of black boots.

I had heard great things about La Canadienne boots but I felt like these were too clunky for me and the boot shaft too wide. I have big feet and it made my feet look huge. I ended up with a pair from Blanco that are similarly styled and they fit much better. If you have small feet these may work for you. They looked well made for what it's worth.

I really wanted to like this boot, and ordered it in several different sizes and widths, but I couldn't find one that was comfortable. It's a beautiful boot except that right at the top of the calf it's quite wide so it made my legs look a little thick.

Just OK! Style was not me and they have an odd shaped toe box. I was expecting them to be incredibly comfortable but wasn't that impressed. They are clearly very well made and high quality but nut not for me.

I really wanted these boots to work. I'm a New Englander, and it seems that every time I have to dress up for an event from October to April, I also need serious rain or snow boots. I've been looking forever for a simple, elegant, waterproof leather equestrian boot with no cheap, pointless buckles or other trimmings. Boots like these are tough to find. I'm 5'5" and a reliable size 7M, with slim-to-averager calves, and these boots were both too short and too tight — tough to zip, although they might have stretched over time. But they ended well below my knee, an awkward look. They seemed true to foot size and width, but only with the thinnest tights. And forget tucking in skinny jeans for everyday wear. These will work better for a shorter woman with thin calves. For the price, I wanted more comfort and versatility, and a more flattering height. The leather was also disappointing; it is real but doesn't look it, having a very flat, dull finish.

Wore them once and noticed a chip on the sole. Zappos offered to replace but not sure I want another pair now...

These boots are very good looking in general. However, the leather is so soft and comfortable that it sags around the ankle. This makes the boot look very sloppy and slouchy. Not a sleek, chic look I was hoping to have

I have these in suede and love them. I waited anxiously until they had them in 12 black, leather. However once out of the box, I hated them. The leather looks like pleather and these do not even zip half way up my leg. I kept them for two months in my closet and would look at them, put them in, in hopes that something would change. But sadly no. They are still ugly, cheap looking and too small around the calf. I am so sad. But yay Zappos for having great return service!

A bit too tight in the footbed, and a bit too plastic-y in looks for the price ($$$). I have been searching for the perfect pair of black knee-high boots for my skinny calves and I'm afraid I'm just giving up.

Beautiful boot, however I order the wide width, and they are not wide. I've had them professionally stretched and they are still tight, especially at the instep. I have regular width La Canadienne boots that are wider than these. Is it possible these boots were mislabeled?

This book looks both sexy and practical, but in the end, in person, it is mostly practical. Nice leather, comfortable lining, decent fit (though ankly shaft was fairly loose and I am not that skinny), but for the price, the lack of curvy lines in the shaft and overall presentation is boring. Sad, but these go back.

I really wanted to keep these boots because they are gorgeous and oh-so-comfortable. Unfortunately, these were not made for my Asian calves which are slightly on the wide side. All other regular shaft width boots fit me fine until I tried on these. So sadly I will not be rocking these boots and I had to return them.

These boots are great in every respect except that they look old too soon. This is the first winter season I've worn them and they already look old (have been wearing them for a little over 2 months). They look great with skirts and dresses because they are fitted but for that reason they wrinkle a lot. I'm not saying that they are worn out or anything but they don't look new. I cannot wear them for business casual.

Unfortunately I find that La Canadienne boots are too tight for me in calf. I was hoping that the wide width would also be a little wider up top, but that was not the case. I covet the warmth and waterproof construction but this is the 3rd style that I have tried in this brand and all have had the same problem.

Sadly, the expensive boots felt and looked cheap -- especially the inner and outer soles. The soles were of an inferior material, and I'd have to drop another more for something decent. Might as well start with a better boot at that point. I just can't drop this much on crappy Chinese stuff at this point.

I'm a true 9 medium width which is what I ordered but these boots are way too tight. Sorry to say I don't love them enough to try another size.

The style of this boot is pretty bland. The leather quality is absolutley top notch...soft and supple. However, I have to return this boot because it's too big for my calf. I'm a size 9, which I felt this boot ran about a 1/4 size too big, but with heavy socks would be fine. My major problem with this boot is the calf size...I have slender calves and big feet...a curse of a runner. So, they were too big on the calf for me....back to Zappos they go. I wish that Zappos would have measurements for all sizes of boots.

I was so looking forward to getting these boots as I loved the style (not too casual, not too dressy) online. Unfortunately the calf width is tiny and the finish almost looks plastic.
