My perfect boots! I've been looking for the perfect boots for a long time now, and I'm ridiculously picky, so it's been hard. I wanted something comfortable, but stylish, practical (i.e. water resistant at least), but not utilitarian-looking, a bit of a heel, but not too much, and no buckles or any other extra decoration. After reading the reviews, I decided to try this boot and it's everything I wanted! Some reviewers have mentioned that the top of the boot gaps a bit around narrower calves; it does, a bit, but I like the look (I'm comparing it to my cheapo synthetic leather stretch boots, which have a skintight fit and thus seem inappropriately sexy for work - my husband calls them my "Catwoman" boots...). I plan to wear these all the time, for years. Love them!

I LOVE These Boots! A friend of mine recommended these - I had been looking for over a year for the clean classic "riding" boot. These are elegant and unbelievable comfortable - I forget that I'm wearing them - something that NYC streets rarely let you do when you walk everywhere. They're very warm, well built, the heel is super durable, have a good grip, and they look fantastic. My only complaint is that I wish they were just a little bit tighter around the calf, other than that, they're perfect! I would love to buy the brown variation, too! Funny story, I walked into work and my colleague had a new pair of boots that she found on the upper west side, two hours later my La Canadienne Passion boots showed up and we realized we had independently bought the exact same boot (except hers are brown)! Then we found out that most of the other girls in our office also wear La Canadienne boots - all said they were their favorite thing to wear. Amazing! It's not too good to be true - yes they're a bit of an investment, but worth every penny you spend!

La Canadienne Passion boot - I've been looking for a pair of boots for over a year that I can wear with dresses and skirts. I have a hard to fit size; feet are on the medium/wide range with athletic calves and ordered a 6 1/2 wide. I'm petite and found that sometimes the height of the boot is too long and creates a weird gap at the top. Not these! I've ordered various brands/sizes of boots from different retailers (over 15!) and I have to say that I'm sooo excited to have found ones that fit. Not too loose in the ankle area and fits my calves. I might just order it in the brown color, too! Definitely recommend them to those with wide feet and calves! Yay!

NICE BOOTS FOR COLD AND RAIN - These are great boots for wearing over skinny jeans to keep your legs warm and dry in rainy weather. The zipper up the side makes it easy to get on and off and to stuff jeans or pants into. They are plain looking, which I like, without belts buckles or glitz. But they have a classic riding boot look with all the comfort. I bought a W wide so my toes wouldn't feel squished with a sock, and there was still plenty of room in the shoe for a padded footpad with a higher arch. Now they are really comfy for walking around downtown. Rain or not, they are perfect for keeping your feet warm!

Finally a shoe for skinny calf ladies - I love this boot. It is absolutely comfortable, great quality and true to fit. I am a size 8 with 13 1/2 calves. This boot is great. Just received and tried on out of the box...can't wait to wear out. The perfect looking riding style boot – and believe me I have been looking for a LONG time.

Wonderful - I have been searching for good black boots to weather the blistery, snowy Vermont winters and have finally found them! These boots have a really classic field boot look to them yet can still be dressy w/skirts and dresses, or casual with jeans tucked in. The quality is great and the weather proofing is amazing! When you muck through melting snow and sludge and salted sidewalks all day, finding shoes that can fare well is near impossible but these have proven great so far. One of the best features is how warm they are...I can shovel out my car with these on and my feet never get cold even while submerged in much snow. My only complaint is that the calf is quite large. I have VERY tiny calves (less then 13" circumference at widest part) and there's a good amount of room in these, probably fine for someone with larger calves. I plan to have them taken in though as they are well worth it.

Worth the money - I just got the boots today, and still haven't taken them off 3 hours later, they're so comfortable. This will be my second pair of La Canadienne boots. I have a bad tendonitis of the right ankle so comfort is a must. The bonus is the boots are perfect for work, to wear with slacks or a skirt and they're warm for the winter. Definitely worth the money. I almost bought a pair of Naturalizer, similar looking boots but were made of plastic - yuck. Zappos is the best, the only place I shop for shoes now.

A great shoe! These shoes are extremely comfortable, and I love the way they look!

Classic boot, very comfortable - After so many years of trying to find practical, classic, and comfortable boots that fit my narrow calves, I finally found these. These are very comfortable and are actually pretty warm. These fit very well into my wardrobe, but if I had to critique these boots at all, it would be that the shaft is a little short (I have short legs and they come up to the bottom of my knees) and the toe is a little too round and runs the risk of looking like rainboots with flowy skirts. Otherwise, I'm very happy with my purchase.

Great boots for winter - These boots have become my favorite shows to wear during the cold, rainy season. They are warm, waterproof, comfortable, and look good with just about anything. I have large-ish calves and these fit me like a glove. Although I would call these true to size, that's with me wearing tights or thin socks. If you're planning to wear thick socks with these, I would recommend ordering a 1/2 size up.

No Quibbles Here - I walked for several hours straight in these boots on flat and uneven terrain with perfect comfort. The size 6 was a bit roomier than usual so that they could be worn with socks or stockings. They work fine with jeans or even skirts as business casual. So far no leaks and they've been put to the test.

LaCanadiennePassion_good - Love the look. I can use a little more arch support which I am getting from a pad. Somehow I expected the boot to have a little fleece like the cogs I've gotten.

Quality and comfort - I had never before been able to find knee high boots I could actually wear. I have fibromyalgia and shoes are always a problem. Although because of my health issues, I can never wear these kind of shoes daily, I have found these super comfortable and can wear them a few times during the week. They were not too loose around calf ( I measure 13) and the arch support is very decent. The look is cool, classic and sexy with a nice shiny leather. they are also warm and well lined, important here in Boston. Worth the investment.

The Passion Boots are GREAT! Best boots I've ever owned. They look great with skirts and jeans. I had my boots taken in a little at the top which really makes a difference in their appearance. La Canadienne is the bomb!

Awesome Boots! These boots are awesome! When I first put them on they fit like a glove. Wonderful leather work. Being a large girl, nice boots in larger sizes are hard to find..but these are perfect. Saving my pennies for another pair of La Canadienne's.

AMAZING Boot!! I had been looking all over to find a low-heeled boot that was actually stylish... and this boot is definitely stylish AND super comfortable! I love it and wear it all the time. And the boot stretches enough to fit over skinny jeans and slightly boot-leg jeans. They are great!

These boots are very well made. My legs are on the skinny side-- and I found they fit well. I would have liked them to be a bit snugger around the ankle, but this is helpful when tucking in jeans! They are EXTREMELY well made, and have quite good traction on the snow and ice. I found they run a little big, but are perfect with thick socks, which, since they are not as well-insulated as true "snow boots," may be necessary. I LOVE that they come in wide sizes! I am very excited that I discovered this brand!

Comfy all around - La Canadiennes are the best in winter shoes! I got this one in black in my size of 6.5, and they are very comfortable, however, even if I have thin legs, I think the shaft is snug when I put the pant legs in. There were no brown boots in my size, so I got the next size, and the shaft fits just great...I just have to place an orthotic so that the foot part will not run too loose. But I love the dark brown color and the "safe" heels. Not too trendy, and waterproof! Very expensive, but will have to be an investment through many seasons. As usual, Zappos fulfills my shoe wishes!

Great boots! I live in the frozen northland and these boots are great for the winter! They are warm, waterproof, and comfortable. They are definitely a worthwhile investment!

Great boot - a little short on style - I am returning these boots because the upper section of the boot makes the boot look cheap. It's extra shiny for some reason. Maybe it was just the 2 pairs that I purchased (brown and black). Very comfortable though. If it didn't look cheap, I would have kept them.

Boots rock - True to the description - these boots are lovely, well-made, and waterproof! The first night I wore these, I was doing volunteer work in a hotel, running on carpeted floors for about 3 hours. The boots never gave me any problems and I still felt totally chic.

Excellent boot! I haven't brought a pair of tall boots for a long time but thought I would give these a try because I like the riding boot look and heel. It's an excellent boot, very comfortable from the first day. The top is an excellent fit around my calves and the boot has nice detailing. They look great with skirts; can be dressed up or down. I haven't worn them in the rain yet because of good fall weather but I like La Canadienne because they are waterproof, an added bonus.

A great "wear with anything" boot! Just got these boots yesterday and I admit I was nervous about buying them online in case they didn't fit (I live in South Korea now, so I had my sister ship them to me!), but I was THRILLED when they fit great - I have a 15" calf and usually wear a size 8 and have a slightly wide foot so I ordered the 8 - W size and they fit like a glove. They are slightly longer than most shoes I’ve had, but it's hardly noticeable. I'm a 27-year old professor at a university and wanted a boot that was stylish, but dressy, that I could wear with skirts, suits, and even jeans on the weekends, and after trying these on with EVERYTHING in my closest, I am THRILLED with the way they look - very sleek, sexy, yet dressy. I was worried that the toe would be too round, but that's not the case - they look great with pants and they are so comfy and warm! I will definitely not be worried about the cold, wet, or slush this winter! And excellent customer service - thanks Zappos!

Love them - The look and feel are great, maybe a little less wide than I hoped in the toe, but certainly comfortable and soft.
