Julia boot - Excellent fit, very stable, nice looking. I like this shoe and have worn it often. It works well with slacks, even ones with narrow leg openings. The fur around the inside ankle area is great. Perfect for cold weather.

A fabulous boot - This is a wonderful boot. Great support with great styling. Warm. Cozy. I love it. Wish they had it in black.

Great boots to wear with pants - I put these to the test- just two days after receiving them I took them on a trip to Budapest as my only shoes. They stood up wonderfully to miles of walking; sight-seeing in cold, sometimes slushy weather and looked good enough to wear with jeans or dress pants. Amazingly my feet were never wet or cold and I didn't get even one blister (possibly a first for me with new shoes)! My feet were a little sore by the end of an especially long day of walking, but that's because I'm used to sneakers, loafers and flats so even these modest heels put more pressure on the balls of my feet than I'm used to. Would recommend adding some padding there if you'll be doing a lot of walking.

Love them. I love the boots. In fact, this is the second pair I purchased this year, so I have them in brown and black. They are VERY comfortable and stylish.

Very comfortable boots - I've been very pleased with these boots. They are very comfortable and did not require any breaking in. These are high-quality boots made with very soft leather. Definitely worth the price. I expect to be wearing them for at least several seasons.

comfy & cute boots - I originally purchased these boots for wearing in bad weather (live in Chicago), but I consistently end up wearing them all day at work. They are very stylish and so comfortable. I don't even feel them on my feet; however, they keep my feet very warm on the outside, in the snow.

Stylish waterproof winter boots - These boots are great! I live in Boston and we've gotten about 20 inches of snow so far this year and the streets and sidewalks are a slushy and icy mess. I trekked across town through snow and slush in these boots and my feet stayed warm, dry and comfortable. These boots are dressy and stylish enough to wear with pants - they do not look like your typical snow boots. I will definitely purchase this brand again.

La Canadienne Julia - The shoe is very comfortable and warm. The leather is soft. The boot has a liner inside and is waterproof. I have a very hard time finding shoes since I usually wear a narrow. With heavier socks the fit is fine. The boot wasn't available in a narrow in my size.

Every day comfort! I purchased a pair of brown La Canadienne "Julia" for European travel. I decided I needed to start wearing them to make sure they would be comfortable and to break them in. They needed no breaking in! They are now my weekend boots of choice. They are all day comfort! La Canadienne is the only manufacturer that gives me a great fit. I just purchased another pair of "Julia" in black and last year purchased two other dressier office boots by this maker! Love Zappos and love these boots!

Chic--and comfortable, too - These are the best boots I have ever had! They fit perfectly, and the heels provide just the right balance. I love the two seams that go down the sides of the front and the pleats above the ankle at the back. The boots have a warm lining, as well. The only small problem I had was that the front part above the ankle needed to become a little loosened up at first.

Expensive but worth it - It’s so hard to find anything in a size 12, and this was about the only similar thing available. But it is a very good shoe and very comfortable. It also isn't too wide -- often 12Ms are too wide for me.

Julia waterproof boot - I have been very happy with this boot, and I am hard to fit. They fit very nicely, and are very comfortable. The leather is not stiff, so mold very nicely to my foot. The heel height is good, not too high, yet high enough to be stylish. The only problem is that they are not padded enough on the bottom, and I have an irritated metatarsal area on the bottom of my foot. These boots did not help that, and I wished they had more padding. But other than that, I highly recommend them.

Very Happy! It's one of the best pairs of boots I have ever bought. They are so soft and flexible. I would like to buy a pair in brown but I didn't see it offered. I had to buy another brand in brown but they don't even compare to this boot. Please let me know if I can get them in brown.

Bought these because they are waterproof. Nice, lined boot. Very expensive, but looks well made. Will add some arch supports to make them more comfortable.

The Best Brand So Far - As a teacher who commutes by subway, I'm on my feet a lot. I love the Julia and will keep it; however, I wish it fit my feet better. I wear a 9.5 and my ankles are thin. This means that as I walk and feel the rubbing at the ankles, my socks slip down. (I tried the Debra and the ankle part fit perfectly, but I can't do that kind of heel.) My first pair of La Canadienne was the Janelle boot which I still wear, even if the calf area is loose. Point is: this brand is the most comfortable, and it should be a plus for women with bigger ankles and calves.

I own several other styles of La Canadienne boots, and have been very happy with them. They are waterproof and warm in the winter. I usually buy my boots 1/2 to 1 size larger than I need to accommodate two pairs of socks. My true shoe size is an 8 and I bought these in 8.5 wide. They feel slightly big, but are perfect after I put in an orthopedic insert. I like the style, the soft leather, and the cozy lining. These are great boots, and the sale price makes them an especially good deal!

A Neat Little Boot - Looking for a weatherproof boot that's attractive with both pants and a skirt, I ordered Julia - just in time to give it a daily workout in the snow. I like its sleek appearance, especially the very dark brown color that's surprisingly versatile. I like that it's easy to get on and off. I like that it has good traction on slick pavements and is a reasonably comfortable walking boot whose heel height is just right for me. While the tops are a bit snug above my ankles, the leather is softening with wear, so that's becoming less of an issue. I do wish the boot had more arch support and padding in the sole - the balls of my feet feel a bit abused after walking or standing in them for an hour or more. I'll have to add a gel insert to counteract that, but overall, this was a good buy for me.

"These boots are made for walking!" La Canadienne's boots are always a reliable purchase! These in particular are wonderful - so soft inside, and fashionable and SO COMFORTABLE! I bought a 2nd pair of "Julia" - I LOVE these so much! I own 5 pairs of La Canadienne's - this is the best brand! Perfect heel height for lots of walking and stability, AND very chic.

I purchased these boots last year in brown, a birthday gift for my daughter, she loved them. The boots were a last minute purchase but Zappos got them to her on her birthday. This year a pair in black was requested, so they were really loved. My daughter uses them not only in S.F. but these boots were and will be international travelers, keeping her comfortable, warm and dry.

I am keeping these boots. The fit is good for my 7WW feet. In addition, these boots do not seem to have the wide heel that so often comes with wide shoes. My yardstick brand is Clarks Artisan 7WW and these seem to compare. I will be looking at La Canadienne again. Zappos has great service too.

Wonderful warm, stylish, comfortable winter boots. I recently bought the Julia boots in dark brown leather. The boots are wonderful- comfortable, warm, and dressy enough to wear all day in the office. Last week I wore them for a 5K walk. They kept my feet dry and snug. These are great boots.

Warm and wonderful - I bought these boots a few weeks ago. I wear a size 10N and they fit my foot perfectly, but seemed rather snug in the ankle. However, I decided to keep them, even if I had to unzip them to make the boots comfortable around my thicker ankles. I've found the leather gave just enough to allow me to zip them up and still be comfortable. The bonus is that they are lined and warm. A real bonus for Minnesota winter weather. All in all - it was a good purchase.

These are super comfortable and look great. The one thing I didn't appreciate is that they are "fur" lined so rather warm - great for cold days but will not work as well for spring and fall.

These boots are very nice. I was worried at first, because while the footbed felt true to size, when I put them on, the shaft was extremely tight. As a Canadian, the cost of a return is high (last year it cost me $45 Can for the privilege of trying on a pair of boots), so I was worried about it. But within about an hour of wear, the leather loosened up nicely. They are smart looking, warm and efficient. The only down side was the price; with import duties and shipping, these cost me about twice the price. That is way too much to have to pay for a pair of boots that are made in Canada! But I was unable to find any Canadian retailer that sold these in the double wide width. Zappos is the only place I have success in finding stylish footwear for my 9.5 WW feet. And they take care of the duty for you, which is something not all web sellers do. So overall, a lovely boot, but they better last a long time at this price.
