Love this coat. It's not bulky and the fit is true. It has the warmth needed yet gives you the ability of free movement. Easy to clean. Highly recommended.

First time to ever buy from Zappos. Wow! Super quick shipment! I ordered the Vaporous Grey/Sonnet Grey. Love it! I had tried a black on in the store and knew they ran small. I'm a size 14, med/lg bone. I got XXL and it fit perfect. Not super snug (like some of the models show), but not baggie. I'm sure I could have worn an XL, but I don't like that super snug fit. I've just gotten into North Face and can't get enough different styles. Zappos has more to pick from than any other store or site. Highly recommend Zappos and this North Face Apex Jacket!

This jacket is awesome. Super comfortable and surprisingly warm. Its slightly fitted and not as boxy as other similar jackets of this brand.

I love Zappos! My jacket came the next day and it fits great. Love the off-white color (vaporous grey), just afraid to get it dirty. I normally wear an XS and ordered the XS. For size reference: 5'2" and 110 lbs. Fits great and still has room left for a light sweater. I also read the reviews that it fits smaller and needed to order a size up, but in my case, it is definitely true to size. I was lucky enough to find the same jacket at my local sporting store and tried it on first before ordering. I got a lot of compliments from my husband and family. Great jacket and I will definitely order again from Zappos. Great service every time. That is why I chose to order here than buy at my local sporting store.

I love this jacket! It has a flattering fit and is warm. It cuts the wind and repels the rain. I wear a large in North Face sweatshirts/medium in their fleece so I ordered a large in this. It is a tad snug in the chest if I wear a sweatshirt underneath and zip it up but otherwise it is super comfortable. It is a great jacket.

This is a great jacket! Fits comfortably but isn't too boxy. As other reviews said the sleeves are a little long but I don't mind at all. On me they are just long enough so that when I bend my arms the ends hit right at my wrists. Doesn't pick up lent like fleece.

I've always been a classic fleece kind of girl, but this year (after my TNF Khumbu jacket wore out after 5 years) I wanted something a little different. I've eyed the Apex for some time, but just wasn't sure about it. After looking at a number of jackets "like" the Apex, I determined that nothing was even close to TNF in terms of quality and style...so I bit the bullet. I'm so GLAD that I did! It's an awesome jacket! I love it! It's warm and comfortable and looks great. I love the styling and not too boxy and a good length for women. The Apex is going to be my fall/spring mainstay for many years to come!

Bought this for my girlfriend, and is a good all year jacket. Great for spring and fall. Won't keep you as warm in the winter but will manage to keep you toasty in most conditions.

I love this jacket. It is form fitting and not super boxy. I'm petite and the XS fit well, but it's pretty snug. If in doubt I would order a size up, especially if you want room to layer underneath. The material is waterproof so it's definitely more stiff than the windwall or other softer jackets that aren't meant to repel water. That being said, it doesn't feel too stiff when you have it on and it's a nice compromise between style and functionality. I would definitely recommend!

Great basic jacket for chilly fall days. Got this for my daughter to wear to and from school, it looks great on her. Fits close and tapers at the waist, very flattering.

I love TNF as a brand, and this is a great jacket! I got it in black for a cruise to Alaska with my parents, but I had been wanting it for quite awhile. I often have borrowed my boyfriend's men's version in the winter when I'm chilly. I went back and forth debating about sizes, and originally ordered the large so that I could layer sweaters or lighter weight fleece under it. When I received it, however, I decided that I wanted a trimmer fit. Zappos service was completely wonderful (as usual) and got me the medium as an exchange before I had to catch my flight! I decided that since I live in a warm climate, most of the time I won't be layering under and want it to have the fit like the pictured model. The cut of the jacket, especially at the sides, is very flattering. Also, it seems to allow both my hair and the dog fur from my pups to be brushed off quite easily, which to me will make it even easier to wear than my other north face fleeces.

This jacket is stylish and pretty warm even when it's windy, although is not as warm as a thick down coat. Slimming and a little noisy when you first get it. It needs to wear in a little bit as it's stiff.

I had bought this jacket 6 years ago and loved it so much that it was time to invest in a new one. However, I couldn't believe how much the sizing had changed! My original S still fit well with plenty of room but the current small was more like an XS that I had to go with a M. A bit roomier than I like but I've worn it xc skiing recently and it gave me the perfect amount of warmth and movement. It's also a great jacket just to wear out as well. Just be aware that they changed the sizing!

This is a very fashionable coat, and does block out wind very well. But it's still not all that warm. The actual material feels cold quickly, like within 1 minute. Definitely a good coat to be very active in, skiing for example. But it's not going to keep you warm unless you're active.

This jacket is really good looking. I am 5'2 and 150, so yeah a bit SNF. I got it in a large, and it is snug. I wouldn't be able to wear anything except a tshirt under it. That's ok for me though. What's not ok is that it isn't exactly windproof. It's 35 degrees here now and I was cold. I live in a pretty temperate climate though, so on normal weather occasions, this would be perfect. like 45+ perfect. Maybe if I had bought the XL i would be able to layer, but I'm pretty warm blooded anyway. For instance, I can't wear my coat into the mall, I just get too hot. So the weight of this jacket might be perfect for me, but if I were headed any further north, I would need something more substantial. It looks really cute, the sales guy said I looked hot, and a girl I work with already said, "cute jacket." It does not zip into my NF shell I use for skiing, but that's ok. I like the length, as it covers my butt and doesn't ride up, so when I get in the car, my lower back isn't frozen by the leather seat. Yeah I know, First World Problems. It's a nice jacket, and this guy I work with told me it should be fitted like it is.

I like this jacket because it is lightweight but it will keep you warm in mild weather; it also has a bit of stretch so it is comfortable. Love the cream color (I think white is too harsh). This jacket runs small, so you may want to order a size up.

The color of this jacket is beautiful and it is so soft but yet a raincoat-type material. The only somewhat negative comment about this jacket is it's not very long. I am 5'5 tall and consider myself to have a stumpy upper body; this jacket just did hit my belt-line and the sleeves are a tad too short.

Years ago I purchased this jacket in a light pink for spring. I made a good decision in doing so. I also purchased cleaner since the color is so light and I have a 7 yr. Old daughter at the time. The jacket not only looks great but it keeps you warm and dry. This would also be a perfect coat for the fall if it was darker in color. I am extremely pleased and would recommend this jacket.

This is a great soft shell. It blocks the wind very well and although I have not worn it in the rain/snow, seems like it should shed moisture well. I do not find it overly stiff and even zipped all the way up, the collar is comfortable. I primarily bought this because I have another North Face soft shell (Maddie Raschel) which I love but bought in my regular size and so cannot layer much under, rendering it fairly useless in temperatures below the 30s. I sized up with the Apex Bionic and it's great for layering, I can comfortably fit most any fleece or hoodie underneath it. That said, while the size up is great for layering, it does look a tad baggy when not layered heavily beneath - not horribly so, but it is definitely loose. So, if you do not want to layer, I would definitely recommend sticking to your normal size. Also, as others have mentioned, the sleeves are quite long, which is why I detracted a star. I admittedly have slightly short arms but these sleeves seem exceptionally long, almost reaching to my fingertips. However, that seems to be the only real drawback that I have found so far, and it is not a huge deal. I would rather have the sleeves be too long than too short!

I ordered medium, I am 5'6" and 135 pounds. The coat felt slightly over sized (good thing) except across the chest (I am only a B but I wanted a little more room there when zipped. Maybe better fit for younger girls (teens/20's?) than 40-somethings...

It's not bad. Seems weatherproof and warm. Not too heavy, but there must be a better, lighter, more stylish jacket for the same price.

I ordered the Denali, Apex Bionic Jacket, and Khumbu Jacket in small and Medium because I wasn't sure of my size. (5 foot, 5 inch female...138 pounds). I found that the small in the Denali fit me well, but the Apex and Khumbu seem to be made a little more form fitting, so the mediums were better for me in those styles. I found that of the 3 styles, they all look good. The Apex Bionic looks the best, IMO. It is sleek and stylish...looks cool, but also functional. The Khumbu looked cute, and was a little more comfortable than the Apex because the Apex material is a little stiff, but not awful. The Denali looks good, and is also comfortable. Now, here was the decision maker between the 3 styles. All 3 jackets have extremely long arm lengths. With my arms hanging at my sides, the sleeves come down to the middle knuckle on my middle finger! (BTW--this is NOT a common problem I have.) I am not spending extra money to have sleeves on such expensive jackets altered, also, I don't think they'd be able to be altered due to the styling around the hem and the little clip used to attach jackets to shells. Of the 3, the Denali at least has an ELASTIC BAND around the wrist, so although the sleeves are long, they stay put at my wrist and don't annoyingly hang down and cover my hands! I have a feeling that the elastic around the wrist is probably a large piece of the explanation as to WHY the Denali is the most popular of woman's North Face jackets. And coincidentally, also the most expensive of the 3 jackets I chose to order! So, it seems to me like I'm paying just to have elastic around my wrists! So it goes! The North Face is great quality, and timeless style. Wish I could have gotten the Apex as well as the Denali, but oh well!

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I usually buy S or M (if I want to wear additional layers). I bought M size and the length of the sleeves is super long, to the point that it truly looks ridiculous. Unless you're some sort of ET with extra long arms, I don't think anyone looks good wearing this.
