Shoes were stiff at first but have since loosened up. These are very well made shoes.

Great value, fits as described and is comfortable right away. Goes with nice pants or casual/jeans. Width important to me, as is easy break in, and both are great. Color scuffs off too easily. Breathable leather makes them comfortable for even hot feet.

Lower profile below lace area than typical Rockport. Made foot feel restricted top to bottom between laces and toe area. And, inner sole padding feels bunched just before toe area. The arch is better than the Valley Lodge shoe. Otherwise, they are a good looking shoe.

I ordered this pair in anticipation of a grueling week at Disney. I had read one reviewer complain that the leather was stiff and hurt his feet, so I wore them indoors for a couple of days first. I agree that they are very stiff out of the box and almost returned them. I spent some time mashing them by hand to soften them up at the key friction points and noticed an immediate improvement that led me to give them a chance. Over the next pre-Disney week they progressively softened up, but I did need a band-aid on one pressure point the first day at Disney. Afterward they were very comfortable - that first day in the Magic Kingdom and Epcot completed the break-in period. Arch support could be a little better, but there's a nice little "bubble" under the ball of the foot that was a lifesaver on all that hard pavement. If you order this, take some time to break it in and it will treat you well.

After wearing several pairs of regular Rockport World Tours, I decided to try an upgrade to the Rockport World Tour Elite Encounter. The shoes look a bit more dressy, are very comfortable, and handle scuffs and bumps well. My only complaint is that the shoes have developed a "squeak" only a few weeks into wearing them.

The Rockport World Tour Elite - Encounter is first and foremost an extremely comfortable pair of shoes. This is their biggest asset. They’re light weight, have great cushioning and allow me to stay on my feet all day. Of course, they’re not the most stylish pair of shoes, so don’t expect them to go with your favorite suit. But, they are very appropriate for casual wear. Bottom line: they are a great buy due to the comfort factor.

I have a high instep and a very wide foot. I have tender feet, especially the bottom of the metatarsal arch and the toenails of both big toes. This shoe is comfortable right out of the box despite my personal issues. It is wide enough and there is plenty of volume in the toe of the shoe to avoid placing any pressure on the nail. The sole can be a bit slick on smooth, wet surfaces.

This is my fourth or fifth pair of this shoe style from Rockport. (The first pair might not have been called "World Tour", but were very similar in style.) My office is "business casual" and I wear these nearly every day. The best feature is they are comfortable out of the box. (It does seem the leather is now stiffer.) They have proven to be reasonably durable, though because I sit at a desk most of the day I don't often put them to hard use. A few years back I purchased a pair of Mephistos of a very similar style for about three times the price. They were comfortable, and perhaps a little more stylish, but within a year they fell apart at the seams. I went back to the Rockports. I get about 3 years out of the Rockports, before they wear down at the heel to the point they need to be replaced. At that point the rest of the shoe is still in pretty good shape. They might not have the most durable sole for extended use on concrete or other abrasive surface, but a more durable sole probably would not be as comfortable.

Unfortunately the Rockport shoes I really wanted were no longer available--they were a slightly dressier version of the World Tour Elite-Encounter. But these are as comfortable as my earlier Rockports from day one. I travel to Europe a lot and they are particularly good for walking on cobble-stoned streets/uneven surfaces, etc. Just wish they weren't quite so casual looking.

This is my second pair of World Tours. I wear them 5 days a week and the previous pair was wearing on the inside although the outside was still ok. I have a narrow foot and buy the narrow width. They are not as narrow as I would like, probably closer to a C than a B. I usually end up using padded inserts after they are done stretching. Length is fine. I wear these for business casual and they are great for traveling as they suffice for business during the day and pleasure on nights & weekends.

Looks good, walks well... I bought this shoe to replace a much older pair of Rockports. I'm a 4E width and pronate, both make a challenge out of finding office-appropriate, comfortable shoes. Happily, the WTE delivers on looks and comfort, with very firm support as well. I give the look 4 stars only because it's not a showy shoe; it's very classy and perfectly appropriate for my office. I will be adding an additional pair soon.

Comfortable and stylish - These shoes are made for walking and I walked all over Rome and Florence in them for 10 days straight. They were very comfortable and the air massage pockets in the soles really helped a lot. Several days we walked for 10 hours and while my feet were a little sore at the end of those 10 hours, the pain was minor and not caused by the shoes themselves. I have wide feet and these shoes fit perfectly. Overall, a really great pair of shoes.

Rockport shoes - Overall a great shoe, although to me not as nice of looking a shoe as some of the other Rockport's.

Wider than advertised - I wear a B-width shoe. These are marked "B," but fit like a "C." They look nice and are comfortable, just a little too wide everywhere. Both shoes have also developed an annoying squeak.

Not the best lookers, but light and comfortable - I finally wore out a pair of Birkenstock oxfords (after 5 years of daily wear!) that couldn't be re-soled. My other "work shoes" were a pair of Rockport Walkers, so that's where I went this time. Moving from the huge footbox of the Birks to Rockport made me have to buy the wides (never had to do that before), but I'm happy with the purchase - they are light, comfortable, and have that Reebok cushioning system that feels like a pillow under your forefoot.

Nice Shoe - I used this to replace my Eccos, because the Eccos here didn't come in wide sizes. It's a nice shoe. DMX insole is helpful, and I use my orthotic on top of it, and it's OK. Cheaper than the Ecco too!

Rockport World Tour Elite - I have switched to this shoe since Rockport discontinued the Lunesdale shoe. I would much rather have the Lunedale. This shoe runs about a half size larger then stated. It is not smooth leather but a bumpy type texture. Overall a comfortable shoe, but it is not a Rockport Lunesdale.

Comfortable but clunky - I generally like a trimmer fitting shoe, but simply couldn't find anything else so I settled on these Rockports because of an upcoming vacation that would involve miles of walking as well as day hiking. I wore the Rockports--brand new out of the box--through the entire week without a single problem. No rubbing, no blisters, no breaking in. They fit like a glove, and have plenty of support and cushion. They're also easy to wipe clean. My only problem is that they look huge on my feet, and make me feel clumsy. Still, no complaints about performance.

Combined Good Looks and Comfort... The Rockport's World Tour Elite is probably the best shoe I've worn so far. I'm on feet at work and constantly walking. They felt a little wide on my narrow feet but I'm still experimenting with different socks. Overall, I would recommend these shoes.

Good-looking, a bit tighter than expected - This shoe looks good and is generally comfortable but I found it a bit narrower than expected (for my 9 Medium size). The Clark's Naturevelt is a more comfortable shoe but less stylish, more chunky-looking than this Rockport. (I'm using some leather-stretching spray for the left toe area where the shoe feels a bit cramped...Hopefully, it'll help.)

Shoe is comfortable for casual and dress occasions. My husband has never worn a Rockport before but is very impressed with it. One of the shoes has become squeaky. Is there a remedy for this??
