Absolutely great boot! Looks fantastic and fits well, if you manage to get your size right on the first go. I didn't, but Zappos was incredibly helpful to get the ones I wanted. As everyone said, be sure to order a 1/2 size down, because you will be swimming in your normal size. But the quality is astounding, the style is par none, and the comfort is just right.

Dressy classic - Frye has softened and dressed up the classic engineer boot. Heel is not as high, shaft not as tall as the traditional, black boot. Instead we have leathers that take a great shine and boots that are classy enough to go out on the town. Very comfortable and sharp looking.

Everything you could want in an old school engineer boot, with modern touches. This is my third pair of Fryes (currently own these as well as a pair of James inside zip) and they never fail to disappoint. Great quality and looks. Do yourself a favor...shop all the other brands of boots and make Frye your last stop and purchase them. You won't be sorry.

Best boot you can buy - I own about 60 pairs of boots, this is now my all time favorite. I am ordering more because I love these boots! I have three pair and want to order so I have back stock on them. Yes, I love them that much.

Finally I found "the ones"- My Brando Engineers are absolutely beautiful. The tobacco color is rich and interesting, and the buckles are tastefully understated. I'm a woman with wide feet, and I have been on an epic quest for the perfect boots. Normally a woman's 8.5 or 9 WW, Frye told me to try the smallest men's size that they make a 7. I popped in an insole to correct a loose instep, and now they are a perfect fit. My only complaint: The leather of one of the ankle straps is somewhat thin, and has already started to stretch disproportionately. I still love the boots and will keep them and be very happy with them, but the quality was obviously not 100%.

These are the very best boots of all time! I have had a pair in Tobacco for about four years now. I think they were called Brando Engineer when I bought them. I have had them resoled once, and while they have been scratched and worn, the leather is still in no danger of wearing out. They are my go to boots for any jeans outfit. If I was not such a boot junkie, I would say these are the only boots you need. Order half a size smaller than you normally would wear.

These are at least a full size too big for my size 9 feet. Even with a thick sock my feet were swimming in the boot. Otherwise, they look and seem to feel outstanding. So I'm sending them back for a smaller size. If they're in stock!

These boots are great. They are comfortable and packed with style. I wear a size 12E boot usually, after reading the advice of others order a 1/2 size down. If your looking for a comfortable and cool looking boot. Here it is!The quality and craftsmanship of Frye is second to none.

Great boots! They needed very little break in time. They are the best quality in both materials and craftsmanship I have seen for the cost.

Great boot, but concept of size is way off. At least 1 and 1/2 sizes too big. Can’t comment on comfort or the like since I bought the smallest size (which is my normal size) and these boots are way too big.

Engineered for style - This boot was exactly what I had hoped for. The quality was excellent, but I already expected that from Frye. They took only a few days to feel broken in, and I have received a number of compliments as well.

Right boot at the right price - Nice boot at a reasonable price for a Frye boot. If you use an insole, try 1/2 size larger. Shipping is free.

Great Service- Great Boots - First, Zappos service is the BEST, this is not my first order and Zappos can't be beat. These boots are top quality and very comfortable- Frye always makes a quality product. As some of the other reviewers have said, buy 1/2 size smaller than you usually wear.

Incredible - Great boots. Took others advise to size down by 1/2 size and the boots fit great. Unbelievable service from Zappos. Unbelievable - I ordered these at 9:45pm and they were at my door when I got home from work the next day. The boots looked and fit great. I took the advice of others and order a half size smaller. These are great boots that were equally matched with great service from Zappos.

Incredible boots and service - These boots are amazing. I've never really worn boots before, so this is a big step for someone like me. While typically a size 12, I ordered a 12 and was surprised to see how loose the boot was on my foot. I processed a return, and ordered a size 11 which fits my foot like a glove. I love them! Also thanks to Zappos, I ordered the smaller pair at 10:30pm and it was waiting for me by the time I got home from work the next day!

Excellent - Boots arrived within 2 days of placing order. New, and fresh right out of the box. Excellent craftsmanship, and quality. Took the advice of others, and ordered a half size smaller, and fits perfectly.

Nice boot - Boot feels like a Frye should, more I wear, more I like. Color is a little redder than expected, oh well.

Great all around boot - These are great boots, comfortable and good looking! They run about a half size bigger then labeled so order accordingly, and they are more stylish than durable so don't expect these to be your new set of workboots.

Frye Brando Engineer - Fantastic old-school Frye quality and good looks, made in the USA. I'm tough to fit: these were fine at first, but after 3 or 4 days of warm-weather break in, they were suddenly too big. Probably should have gone a half size smaller. Disappointed in myself, but NOT in the quality of the boot or Zappos service, both of which are first rate!
