Frye’s Brando Engineer - These boots look and feel great. they feel lighter than the Frye’s 12r eng. boot. Will worth the price since Brando’s are made in the U.S.A. Great service.

Costly but well made, quality leather. The sole provides decent traction for everyday wear. Great style.

Not Really 1/2 size larger - I read all the reviews about this boot before I bought them. You see I wear a size 13 and most if not all of them said to order a 1/2 size smaller. So I figured I would order a 12.5. Well unfortunately for me you all do not carry a size 12.5. So I order the 12. I think a size 13 would've been better. I like the look and style of the boot and am continuously impressed with the Frye brand. I'm thinking about send them back for the 13. The size 12 fits, but is a little snug. If I don't send them back I might have them stretched a bit.

Worth the money - Great looking boot, excellent quality leather and workmanship. I'm planning to buy the same boot in black. I have always bought size 11 shoes/boots but have a size 10.5 foot. No need to go up a half size with these.

Great boot...but - This is a great boot save for one thing. The boot is unlined and at this price point it should be. The boots always takes my socks off when I pull them off. Looks good, is comfortable, and is light for this type of boot. I took the advice of others here and ordered a half size smaller than my usual 10.5. The boot still feels a bit large, but I'm certain that any smaller wouldn't fit. I have western boots made in the US, fully lined, that were less money. Frye needs to lower their price or finish the boot better. Zappos service was perfect.

I haven't worn anything other than my Frye Rand Engineer boots since they arrived from Zappos. The quality is top notch along with the design. Worn with a pair of cuffed selvedged denim you can't go wrong. Timeless like Marlon Brando. These boots make me feel cooler than I actually am. Be sure to order a half size smaller. They run a bit large.

I normally don’t write reviews mostly because I am too lazy to take the time. This is one exception! The boots are wonderful, very comfortable, very stylish, and I have received numerous complaints on them. I would agree with others regarding the size issue. I ordered 1/2 size smaller than normal and they fit great. Zappos.com is amazing! Super fast shipping, best online purchase experience I have had. I honestly check zappos before purchasing anything now just to see if they carry the item I desire.

Look out Frye - What a great shoe. I was looking to buy a pair of John Varvatos black boots (Mercer Boot), but didn't see the point since these shoes are better quality, made in the U.S.A. for years, and much easier on the wallet. The other Frye boots I own have definitely withstood the test of time. I foresee these boots heading down the same path.

This is my third pair of Fryes. My others are 15 and 20 years old. Sizing was not an issue and the boot is super comfortable. I wear a triple E width and love this boot. The rubber on leather sole wasn't glued perfectly but am willing to have my shoemaker fix it for the convenience of shopping with Zappos.

It's taken a few weeks to break them in, but the longer I wear them, the more they fit - kind of like a good pair of leather work gloves. Definitely order a half-size smaller than usual.

Well the straps are obviously just for looks, which is silly because your pants are going to cover them. I had to punch new holes to get any productivity out of them. I like the perfectly flat soles and max traction, as long as you don't hydroplane; no footprints. Bottom Line, they're pretty loosey-goosey. If you want something that fits well, go with the zipper option, I suppose, unless you have giant ankles. Obviously not designed by an engineer.

Frye boots are excellent. They were my husband's Christmas present. After reading the other reviews I chose half a size smaller for him and they fit just right. He can wear them while riding his bike and he has already worn them out to dinner. He wanted a pair of Fryes after looking at old pictures of his dad wearing a similar pair. The leather is quality. These boots will last a lifetime. Zappos customer service is fantastic. They sent a wrong pair in the right box and it was quickly and easily exchanged.

I have owned a pair of these boots for 5 years and they are still great! I love the style, and I have been infinitely impressed by the grace with which they have held up. When I bought the boots, the reviews said they would never be work boots, but for the past two years I have been working them through mountain climbs and brush-clearing jobs without a problem. They run narrow, but that worked out for my feet. Also, I would recommend an insert for arch support, but I have yet to encounter any shoe, other than really expensive dress shoes and one certain tennis shoe, that doesn't need an insert. Other than that, these have been great boots and I highly recommend them if you are looking for something stylish, easily maintained and sturdy!

Followed other reviewers' advice -- ordered half-size smaller than usual -- it was perfect advice. Boots fit like they should. Great style, not too fancy, solid look. I know I'll get years of use out of them -- Frye never fails to deliver. Frye Boots are classic -- they never go out of style. Zappos service excellent as always.

These are great boots. Frye has been around long enough that you know what you are getting. They are pricey but worth every penny. I would waste a considerable amount every eight months on boots that wear out or fall apart. These puppies should last at least three years, at least. I expect them to last longer with good care. They are resoleable so the body and construction of the boot is designed to last longer than the sole. They have a two year warranty so any splitting or other design flaw has been caught and fixed. You do not offer a two year warranty on boots if you do not provide quality products. I love them and they love me back!

These are nice boots, but had to be returned due to the large size. My husband wears a 13 in the other few pairs of Frye's boots he has, but these were too large. Nice heavy duty boots. We liked that they had the tread as the leather wears too quickly, but for long wear these were just too heavy.

I don't understand why so many people love Frye boots. Never any wide sizes, not comfortable in the least without major alterations or the addition of insoles This pair looks very cheap, inferior leather...Dingos are made better and with what appears to be better leather. I miss the old Georgia boots with the spr insole, great saddle leather and you could go all day and then some. Dan Post had a farm and Ranch that looked a lot like them but no small and wide sizes...oh well!
