I was very disappointed in the quality of these boots. The leather just feels cheap, the boots feel light. For the same price, or a bit cheaper, the Frye Engineer 15R are of a much higher quality in my opinion. Sturdy, heavy, a sole to last a lifetime, everything you'd want in a pricey boot.

I just received these gorgeous boots yesterday (via Zappos' fabulously fast shipping practices) and haven't actually worn them yet but so far I love them! They are beautiful, quality, deliciously aromatic leather and they fit true to size. I'm a solid size 9 and I ordered a 9 and they fit great. Like previously stated, I haven't actually worn them but judging by the fit I don't anticipate a problem.

Love the style of this boot fit is great around the calf, leather is nice but very narrow and I would go 1/2 size up. I'm a true 6 1/2 and these were short. I also have a wide foot therefore had to return them heavy sigh! Ordered the Harness Boot with square toe, received them today and they are great! Ordered the 6 1/2 and they are more roomy not as narrow and I'm happy again!

I couldn't decide which one to get, so I ordered these boots and the Melissa button back zip at the same time. Before they came in, I was leaning more towards the Melissa, but when I got these I fell in love with them too right out of the box, so I've decided to keep both. The only cons of these are the width, they felt a little narrow and snug, but length-wise they are true to size, other than that, I love these boots. I'm sure it just needs a little breaking in. I am 7-7.5 in size and I ordered 7.5. The buckles are perfect accents, the length are just perfect height on my legs, I'm 5'4. I have regular-sized calves, and these fit perfect, I have worn them with skinny jeans and running socks and they still fit fine. I love the way it slouches, not over the top slouch, just the right amount. I love everything about these boots, my first compliments were from my husband. It has buttery soft leather, which smells really good, you'll be able to tell that it is top quality leather the moment you take it out of the box. With its superb quality, these boots should last for a very long time.

This is a wonderful dress. I bought this one in petite small (at a Tommy Bahama store) It's such a great dress. I had no idea this brand was so good! The fabric is light and never wrinkles. Tommy Bahama knows exactly what you want in a summer/vacation dress! This dress was my first buy from the brand, but I bought 2 more dresses the same day. That's how good it is! I'm 5'4, about 135 lbs and I wear a size SMALL Petite (I guess they run big). If you're 5'5 or taller, don't think about it. Buy it! The color is way nicer in person.

The winner of my quest to find a flat black boot I could shove my feet into in the morning without thought. Really quality leather, very comfortable and has a decent tread for winter wear - I was concerned the lug sole would look clunky and overly casual, but these boots can definitely be dressed up or down. I ordered a half size up to wear with heavier socks and they fit perfectly.

First let me applaud Zappos! I ordered these boots on Saturday night, they were on my door step Monday morning! Amazing customer service. Second, these are the MOST gorgeous boots I've ever held or worn. Worth every penny! Zappos and FRYE BOOTS both have a customer for life in me.

I bought these last September and wore them constantly the entire fall/winter. Best boots I have ever owned. I have never written a review before -- but these are amazing boots!

The smallest size of woman's boots that Frye makes is a 5.5. Not so great for a woman who needs a size 5.0. I originally purchased a pair of Frye Harness 12 inch boots from Zappos in a size 5.5 and they were very large. I called customer service to get advice on another option of Frye boots that would fit me. I measure a 4.5, however, no one actually makes this size, so I wear a 5.0. Frye does not make a size 5.0, they begin at a size 5.5. When my Harness boots arrived, they were way too big. I was advised that the Veronica Slouch boots ran small and would be a great option for me. I exchange the Harness 12 inch boots for the Veronica Slouch ones. I was not happy at first with the higher price, however I absolutely love these boots. I felt these boots ran about a 1/2 size small, so the 5.5 fit me great. I am very happy with my purchase!

Excitedly waiting for these boots! I was not disappointed! Super cute true to size. My boyfriend who is very picky was impressed with them. I'm thinking about getting another pair of Frye. Zappos rocks!

I was looking for a stylish black boot to go with jeans. Really liked the look of these, was nervous about the price, but the reviews and my previous Frye boot purchase convinced me it was worth it. I am very happy with them- they look great, and fit my larger calves. Have not worn them much, but they feel comfortable and I think will be easy to wear. Frye's get better fit wise with age-I have one other pair I got on sale a long time ago, and they still look great and fit even better than before. I do wear thicker socks while breaking in boots, to avoid my feet getting too cut up. I anticipate wearing these for a long time- classic look and high quality!

I ordered the black tumbled full grain. They are a soft, all black color. The calf shine has a vintage look. I have 16 inch calves and thought that would be a problem, not at all. They fit perfect even over jeans. In fact I have to buckle on the second notch. They are scrunchy but I googled images of them before I ordered so I was expecting it. Also I wear a 10.5 which they don't sell so I ordered an 11. They for perfectly and I have no problem sliding my foot into them. These are a keeper.

Okay, I believe in starting with the bad news so here it is: The subject of manufacture quality has come up at least a few times...I agree. I purchased the "black calf shine" and there does seem to be some poorly done stitching and leather bonding in certain areas. Now mind you, if the boots weren't over my budget, this might not be an issue. I will say however that because the coloring is purposely "vintage", I highly doubt anyone will ever notice. Another issue is that while yes, the design name says "slouch", the leather sags much more than the picture would ever indicate. If this is what your looking for, a truly "slouchy" type boot without the stiff lining, this boot is a match. Now on to the good stuff... Good news: I'm 5'6", 135lbs and 14.5" where the shaft hits. As I mentioned before, the boot shaft is unlined and so it WILL sag as was the purpose of a slouch boot. Don't let the picture fool you. My feet are a comfortable 9.5 usually considered a narrow foot with a low arch. Fact: the 9.5 is a perfect fit! After marching around the house from shorts to skinny jeans (while wearing light dress socks underneath) the boots will not require "break in" time. Since I have somewhat of chicken legs (lol), there's no way I'd recommend with the type of slouching already going on purchasing the wider boot. For those of you with similar measurements, this boot will fit fine with jeans under, over, tights, leg warmers and concealed weapons. Just kidding. ;) Seriously though, great fit, very soft leather, vintage coloring is a plus and they are FRYE'S! What else might you be looking for? Oh yeah, back to the quality...Look at it this way, you know they're designer mixed with function boots. Frye's is a reputable and recognized brand and I admit that part of willing to pay the price of these boots includes the brand name. If you don't like them enough, return them and move on. If you do like them, by reading over 500 reviews and previously owning pairs (like me) you'll know they last forever... Good luck!

Ugh, these boots. I wanted these so bad, but with size 6 feet and 14.5" calves I knew it'd be a problem. The calf width is fine, but I can't even get my foot into the shoe! The ankle part doesn't flex at all, and the top of my foot hits it and will not go past it. I spent 30 minutes stomping my foot down, pulling, yanking the leather, folding the leather down to get a good grip, yanking again and nothing. My foot won't go past the ankle.

I was looking for a cool, casual boot to wear during the day while running errands & chasing around my toddler. After seeing these on so many celebs, and reading all the great reviews, I thought I'd give them a shot. I got them in black, in my true size (8.5). I am 5'5", 120 lbs. I wear size 26/27 jeans. They are what others have said - they really are great quality, fit...and they are super cool. However, the black was too "tough" for me. And, my husband agrees, the shape makes them kind of look like rain boots in the black. I dress like every other girl in LA - skinnies with loose fitting tops, and I now realize that i needed something that makes my outfit a little "girlier". I am returning them and now trying the Paige's in brown - however, I did really like the style of the Veronica Slouch boots so I will probably order them in brown to see if I can pull those off. They hit at the perfect place on my calf (I have short legs & a long torso and these didn't make them appear shorter), they are a great width for a girl with slim-normal size calves, and they are unique. Thanks zappos for making home shopping easier than dragging my 1 year old to the mall!!

I have been stalking these boots for about a year and finally bit the bullet and ordered a pair in my usual size 8, although I was worried after reading some reviews that they might be too snug. I am 5'2" and 120 pounds and this boot slipped right on with a thin sock. When walking around in them, I discovered that my heel slips so I'll need to wear a thicker sock, or perhaps even two pairs of socks. I don't want to send them back for a smaller pair because I worry about my toes getting pinched then. Since I tend to get cold feet, wearing thick socks shouldn't be a problem for me. I have slightly athletic sized calves but the 15" calf is plenty big enough for a pair of jeans underneath. The boots look nice, but the overall quality of this boot is really not worth the high price. I've seen many comparable boots for half the price, but again, I'll keep these for the style. Everyone said what great leather these boots were made from, but as someone who works with leather, I can assure you, these are not premium boots...they just have great style and a premium price.

Oh, how I wanted to love them. I have been wanting these boots for over a year and finally decided to spend the money on them. I opened the box, they were lovely and smelled great, too! When I put them on, they were immediately uncomfortable. My heels slipped in them causing the beginnings of blisters in the 2 minutes I walked around in them, but at the same time my toes were being pinched. I can't go a size smaller because the toe pinch will be worse. I am more than disappointed. I couldn't wait to have these as part of my fall wardrobe. Bummer.

I love these boots! They are so cute and versatile. They look great with skinny jeans and some leg warmers peeking out, or even with a dress! I tried on a 7 1/2 with a thin sock on at the store and they fit perfect. I was worried if I wore them with thicker socks they would be too tight so I came back the next day with medium/thick Adidas running socks and I tried on an 8. My heel moved way too much and I had too much room. So, I tried on a 7 1/2 again and they were the perfect fit. They really mold to your foot, and look better everyday. I recommend these, a little pricey, but so worth it, best boots I own!

Alright, I am definitely the person who reads reviews and reads up on my product before I purchase it. These boot's are great! Here is my experience...I ordered both the calf shine black and the tumbled full grain because I could not tell the difference in the texture online. I even spoke to two Zappos' representatives (who were so nice and answered my endless questions) who agreed that it was hard to see a huge difference in the two black boots by just looking at a computer screen. The boots came and here is my opinion, the tumbled full grain has a texture to it, and is a bit shinier, but not crazy shiny. It is not a deal breaker or a huge difference. I am sure once they are broken in, I won't even notice. The calf shine actually had a more worn look, the leather looked smoother too, and the black didn't seem as dark. I almost went with the calf shine until I realized that they have a white stitching all around the boot...I prefer all black and not to see the white stitching. Also, if you are going to wear your boots with the buckle part open or partially rolled (which I am seeing as a trend everywhere), the inside of the calf shine is grey and not cute unrolled and you can see the Frye tag when you roll it or leave it open. The tumbled grain is all black on the inside too and the Frye tag placement is different, not as noticeable (better placement in my opinion). The Calf shine would look funny open or rolled because of the grey contrast on the inside, which would now be on the outside! Also, as for sizing...I am no help! I do think these boots are average or on the narrow side. I have a narrow foot and these are a perfect fit. Not big at all. Also, I am an 8.5 in my other Frye boot's (Melissa button). I thought I was going to have to go up to a 9 when I tried the calf shine on, they were tight! I tried on the tumbled grain pair and they fit perfect, a little room. not too snug, ready to wear! They are so comfortable, and I just love the way they look and feel! I can't give an honest opinion if they run small or big, because one pair ran small and one did not. Zappos is so great with their returns, I say order both sizes if you can't decide...ordering one and sending it back for the right size, and having to wait is torture when all you want to do is wear the boots!

True Love! OMG, I am IN LOVE! I love these boots so much, I would marry them! :) I am only 4'11 (granted, I have long legs for being this short) and they are still PERFECT. I cannot wait to shop for cute shirts to wear with these boots. I bought the Taupe Burnished Antique color and they are gorgeous. *sigh* They are so, so comfortable and adorable with my skinny jeans! I am a 6 and the 6 fits perfectly. Feels like I'm walking on a cloud. The shaft is so soft and comfy, too. LOVE. Thrilled with Zappos customer service, as always. Thanks, Zappos!

Wow, I have been on a boot hunt for a long time. I've tried them all and none of them ever reached my goal as a boot that goes well with all my pants as well as skirts. What I love about these boots is the loose/slouch feel. It's super easy to wear a flared jean and have the boots go right over them and not just be limited to wearing skinny or straight jeans. Tough looking, but will also complement a dress or a skirt. I am excited to wear these for motorcycle riding since they are easy for me to slip on and off. I was using combat boots to ride in and I hated having to lace all 12 holes when riding. I did not have any trouble getting into these. I am petite 5'3 and weigh approximately 115lbs. I have athletic calf muscles, and normally a tall boot is tricky for me to get into, but these were not tight at all. Based on all the reviews it seems these are one of the best boots on the market. You might be freaked out by the price of these boots, but I think the quality and their versatility make them a worthwhile purchase.

I love this boot in all respects except I've decided that I don't need this color. I was looking for a boot I could take on trips to cooler climates in the summer months that I could also wear if it rained. This won't fit the bill.
