I have several pairs of Frye Boots. I have grown to trust and love their quality and styles. This boot is my favorite. It is extremely comfortable. The leather is so soft. I just love these boots.

Panic Attack.. I HAD to have these boots. They were -exactly- what I was looking for! But, when they arrived I almost flipped out because I couldn't get them over the instep of my foot. I did NOT want to send these back!! I kept trying and eventually they made it but it was a struggle. I have several other Frye Boots, none with this issue. Once on, they did feel a little snug in the toes, but loose in the heel. Regardless, I am DEFINITLY keeping these. The leather is high quality and they slouch nicely around the ankle. Beautiful, classic boots! I will wear these a ton. :) (can't wait till they break in...)

Adorable! After trying on every boot in the department store I finally picked these. Yes, they're expensive, but they are extremely well made and timeless. They are selling out quickly so GRAB 'em if you want them!!

Awesome boot - This boot is great. The leather is really soft and comfortable, so it doesn't need breaking in like most boots. It doesn't slouch much, which I really like a lot, due to the thin strip of leather down the back. I usually need a 16 inch calf circumference, and these boots adjust at the top and give just enough that they're a great fit on me. They'd also do fine on someone with thinner calves because of the adjustable top. They're really rad looking, but still nice enough to wear with skirts. Of course, Zappos service was as great as ever.

I got these boots a few weeks ago in the dark brown tumbled full grain. I wear a 9 to 9.5 and ordered these in a nine. After the first few wearings, I still was having a lot of pain in the balls of my feet. These were just not stretching enough to accommodate my forefoot, which is wide anyway, plus I have bunions. In a last-ditch effort before throwing them up on Craigslist, I put in a gel insole, put on a thick pair of socks, and repeatedly sprayed on a mixture of rubbing alcohol and water while I walked around by house, then wore them till they dried. My feet were absolutely screaming during this process, but it worked! The next day, after my feet had recovered, I put them on with a thin pair of socks and no insole, and they had stretched beautifully! I wore them all day at work, and my feet were totally comfortable to the last minute. They now are incredibly comfortable and I couldn't be happier.

Basically love these boots. Although the finish is less polished than the picture indicates. Really like the rougher finish better actually. I have med - thin legs and so there's some extra room at the calf, but still the boots look very cool. Almost like Christopher Robin in Winnie the Pooh! Fit: I'm usually an eight but have sort of wide-ish feet and wondered if I might have gotten an 8.5... but anyhow, they're actually pretty good for hoofing a few miles around Brooklyn too. One thing I noticed - one boot was made of a slightly crinklier, slouchier leather, which I didn't notice at first... something to look for.

I ordered my typical shoe size of 10 and these boots arrived feeling too tight, but the 11's were way too big. In the end, I settled for the 10's and am wearing them and waiting for them to stretch out. After about six wears, they are beginning to stretch and feel more comfortable. They hug the calf, and that is a great look, but they are slouching a little more than I hoped for. They also do not offer much in the way of arch support or shock absorption. Given the above, they are classic looking, and that is enough for me to push past those problems.

Loved these boots when I bought them. Been wearing them for nearly two years, but I had to replace the heel and the "slouch" is really kicking in and they kind of pile up around my ankles. Suggestions? I was disappointed that there was no arch support, but the boots are still very comfortable. As Jodi mentioned, the inside sole bed comes up. I didn't think to return them.

I wanted to love these boots, but I couldn't. First, the leather upper was stiff as cardboard, not buttery soft as some claimed. However, I got the black color, so maybe that's different. They were not super comfortable - just okay. I had to size up by half, which was fine, and I know some heel slippage is normal. But the bottoms were so hard...not a soft footbed as I would have preferred. The look was great in the box - a subtle western/biker thing, good for jeans and okay with casual dresses. The problem was that the shaft was just too high. I am only 5 2 and they came up to about an inch below my knee. They didn't scrunch down any - the leather was too stiff for them to stay scrunched - although they would have looked great if they had been just a bit shorter on me. However, with the shaft so high I looked like I was actually going to ride a motorcycle or something, and it just didn't look right with anything I put on. Anyway, they almost looked great. If only they were a bit shorter or a bit more slouchy.

I'm not sure why so many reviewers here claim to have "thin calves" yet say that the Veronica fits well and even looks good with skirts - I don't find that to be the case. The calf is very ample and leaves a lot of space even over jeans. But, it does look good over jeans (non-skinny ones) and the brown color is absolutely lovely. Comfort is okay; they feel best over cushy socks. Great leather!

I suppose for the price I expected high-quality. But I found the heel on one boot was separating from the sole, and the tags inside the shaft have very coarse stitching, causing irritation to my calf and tearing my socks. Luckily, I have a boot repair shop nearby and they simply glued the heel for me. To remedy the scratchy stitching, I placed duct tape over the tags. It took about a week to break them in, and difficult to get on at first, but they are easily adjustable with the straps over the ankle and at the calf. The straps are also helpful for adjustment so when I wear thicker socks, I can loosen them; for thinner socks, the boots can be tightened. Overall, I like these boots; they are flexible in that they can be worn with dresses or jeans. Not sure that the money I paid for them equals the quality that I received. Not at all Zappos’ fault, but the manufacturer, FRYE. Also, glad they have my size 11 which is uncommon in most boots and shoes that are stylish.

This is a great boot. I've gotten lots of compliments on it. Skinny jeans tuck into it and it looks great over tights. It took a few wearings for me to break them in but since then they've been very comfortable. I had some Clarks Indigo boots similar to them which were more comfortable but no longer available. After three years they are showing wear. I love the fact that Frye boots are built to last and I won't have to go in search of a replacement any time soon.

Have a short pair (cognac) and tall pair (black). Short pair was a perfect fit size 9, but the tall pair feels a half size too small. The tall pair feels much more narrow as well and is almost impossible to get on and I have a slim foot and calves. I had them stretched which helped a little bit. I love the look of both shoes. Haven\'t regretted buying my shorties but the jury is still out on the tall pair. I\'m still in the painful process of breaking them in.

First pair of Fryes - Like many others, I found these boots extremely difficult to get on, though it's such a great look that I can't bear to send them back. I do have moderately wide feet and high arches, which doesn't help. I've had this trouble with pull on boots before and found that after giving them a few wears they're much easier to get into. These boots are fairly comfy once on, thoug the leather needs to be broken in. I'm considering exchanging for a half size larger in the hopes that they'll be a little easier to get on.

Beautiful boots! These boots are as pretty as I had hoped, although I wish they were an inch taller on my calf. It took some work to get them over my instep, but once on, they fit my foot nicely. My biggest problem is that they slip in the heel--my socks are inched down and I am worried about blisters. The leather is gorgeous and the style timeless. I'm crossing my fingers.

Tight Fit - These are really cute - but they take some effort to get on. Very difficult to get over my instep. Once they were on (took about 5 minutes) they felt fine. I am assuming they will wear in a bit and be easier to get on and off. I normally wear a 6.5, but I ordered them in a 7 as per usual for Frye's. They slip in the heel and rubbed a bit, but I think they will break in nicely. Not as comfortable as the Frye Campus...but really cute.

These are such cute boots and it took me several tries to find the right size. In closed toe/heel shoes I usually wear a size 8. In these it took a size 7½. Still after wearing them around in the house for a bit I decided they just are lacking too much in the comfort factor. The boot leather is very stiff in the shoe/toe area and was uncomfortably tight across the ball of my foot. Yet the heel of the boot was extremely loose to the point of almost sloppy. Admittedly, I do have narrow heels, that said there also is basically no cushioning or arch support in the footbed. So as much as I wanted them to work they will have to go back.

I hemmed and hawed over these boots for a while, and waffled between these and the Engineer 15R. I chose these, probably because of the variety of colors and finishes. I ordered them in the dark brown soft vintage leather in a size 9. I have three other pairs of Frye boots, two in an 8½ and one in a 9. One of the 8½ pairs is a little narrow, the other two fit like a dream, never required breaking in, and despite the tall heels, I can wear them all day. I received the Veronica Slouch today (go Zappos! That was fast!). When I opened the box, I was a little put off to find them kind of wadded up inside. I smoothed them out and tried them on. Like many reviewers have said, it was a slightly aerobic activity to get my feet in them (thank you, plastic bag). I was disappointed to find that they were ridiculously loose on my ankles and calfs and there was significant heel slippage. My husband laughed and said, "What did you expect, they have the word 'slouch' in their name!" Fair enough, I did expect some slouch... but these were downright floppy. And I run, so I do not have skinny calfs. They looked like galoshes! I also did not care for the shape of the toe, although I cannot really explain why. I guess I pictured something a little more substantial. So back in the box they went, and I ordered the Engineer 15R...

I wanted to like these. Based on reviews you'd think they were the holy grail of boots! Lovely, lovely leather and stitching. Unfortunately they were quite a bit too tall and bulky for my 5'2" 115lb frame. They looked a little like galoshes. Not the look I was going for... I guess I should have read it in the name... slouchy.

I love, love, love these boots! I love the way they smelled when I first opened the box and I couldn't wait to get them on! However, it took a few days and lots of patience to finally wear them. I was so afraid I was going to have to send them back. It is so hard to pull them on. I finally did it and it was still hard the next few times, but they're now starting to stretch out a bit. Love them!

Sadly, these boots are like everything else made in Mexico.Very poorly constructed and not worth the asking price. The heel lining was already coming apart.

It's beyond me why these boots are so popular. I got some in slate a couple of years ago, in a sale, and sent them straight back. Nice color but the boot is poorly constructed and cheap looking for the price. The engineer 15R's are so much nicer and edgier.

Way too big!! Got my normal size 9 and I was swimming in these boots. They do look well made, but are not for folks with narrow feet.
