Nice boot, tough to get in to - Beautiful boot, wish the heel were higher, and really hard to get your foot into it. Once on, comfortable and nice looking.

I am a Frye boot lover. I have about 10 pairs and wear them all winter and fall. I am a teacher so I am always looking for ones that I can be on my feet with all day. My Frye's range in size from 7.5 to 8.5. The Veronica Slouch is one of my most comfy pairs. I stay on my feet in them all day. I find many Frye's run big so I ordered these in a 7.5. Frye's do stretch but it's more in width not in length. The 7.5 were just a bit snug in length. You want them to slip a bit in the heel. If they don't you will get blisters. I ended up going with the 8 instead and they are perfect with maybe a little room. This is good because you can wear a thicker sock or put a Dr Scholls pad in the bottom which actually gives extra comfort. I would say I am a solid size 8 so I ended up with this boot in my normal size. Be sure to walk around the house in them for a while before you decide on a size. Sometimes they don't feel uncomfortable until after a while and if you wear them out it will be too late to return. I would recommend going with the one that feels a little roomier.

OK, first off, let me state I am Frye lover! I currently have 6 pairs of Frye boots, 2 pr of flats, 3 handbags and a clutch. That said, Frye sizing can be kind of all over the charts, my Frye boots range from size 5.5 to 6.5, but I am normally a true 6 in boots. I have a 6.5 in these boots and they fit perfect, with that slight slip in the heel you want in leather boots. So, while I do agree with others that this boot runs large, I don't agree that it runs that large, I wouldn't go with a whole size larger. If half sizing isn't available for you, I would go the smaller size and stretch the boots abit, I believe a whole size would be too large. This is just my experience with the fit of these. One other word of caution with these boots: I know this style of boot is so popular and has gained much of that popularity because celebrities like Miley and Ashley Tisdale are seen wearing these and they look so cute. OK, if you are planning to wear these boots like you see them wearing them, very slouchy, sometimes with the shift even flipped over at the top, they are apparently purchasing this boot with the extended shift sizing. I find Frye boot shafts to be surprisingly narrow to begin with and I do not have large calves at all. As stated I wear a size 6 boot, I am 5'2" and weigh between 110 and 115 pounds, last check was 112. I have never had those nice round muscular calves some women have, even when I use to work out 4 days a week, before having 4 kiddos haha! I expected this boot to have a somewhat wider shift because it is not a structured but rather slouchy shaft. It's not. I have room, I can slouch it down, I can wear them with jeans even.But I would not be able to wear these flipped over or has hugely slouchy as they do. So this is why I am assuming they are ordering extended shaft sizing. Overall, I love these boots and they are one of my fave pairs of Fryes! I got these in the brown calf shine color because My other Fryes are black, grey or the lighter brown and this color is a very nice dark vintage brown that can be worn with a lot. Sorry for the lengthy review, but I wanted to point out a few points that some may find important when purchasing these boots.

Okay, my wide-calf sisters! I've been drooling over Veronicas for well over a year now, but could never find any concrete reviews as to whether these would fit my 17-inch gams. Well, I finally finally finally decided to take the plunge and purchased these in the Stone Stonewashed color. And they are on my feet right this minute. They fit just fine over leggings, and also over not-quite-skinny-legged jeans. They even do that cute roll-over thing that I've seen photos of stars doing. ;) Hooray! Now, I am about 5'8", and have long legs. The boots only reach to about 4.5" below the bottom of my kneecaps--so they aren't actually tall enough to make it all the way to the widest point of my calves. But they look great, no "calf muffin top," as I've heard it so eloquently put! The shaft measurement on the size 10 appears to be about 16.5". I should note, I did actually try on the zip-back Veronica Slouch in a department store recently, and they were a total no-go. The shafts are definitely slimmer on those. My only question now is whether I should keep this color or trade it in for another, more wearable-everyday color. But I'm so glad I finally got the courage to order these! You should, too! They're freaking beautiful!

Luckily I tried these on at a local store before I purchased them online - I typically wear an 8 (rarely a 7 1/2) and I needed a 7 in these. My right foot is also slightly larger so while I have a little give in the left boot, the right feels a little tight width wise (length is fine). There are plenty of ways to stretch the boot (youtube had great videos too) so that's not a problem. The only thing that I'm not thrilled about is I "think" I may have received boots that someone else returned because one of the boots' calf area looks a little stretched at the rim (but only my overly attentive eye noticed it). The boots are great - feel great, smell great and look great. I highly recommend trying them on in a store first though if you don't want to deal with returning and re-ordering online. I didn't find the recommendations about size here helpful since most say they run true to size. Also, as this was my first pair I didn't realize that I would literally have to pop my foot into the right boot (I almost bought a 1/2 size too big - but I went back and tried again). Once the foot pops in the boot - perfect! Hope this is helpful.

After multiple attempts and fabulous customer service from Zappos. I now have the perfect tall Frye boots! The cognac stone antiqued I settled on (substantial variance in leather color / texture / finish of each pair) is a beautiful blend of dark brown, red-brown, and black that goes with everything! I wear an 8-9, purchased an 8½. The fit is great with moderate-heavy boot sock. The Veronica Slouch is somewhat shorter than many other styles of riding boots. They hit my 5'8" frame about 3" below the knee. I have normal sized calves and skinny jeans fit easily into the adjustable shaft. Looking forward to wearing with leggings and skirts. Did I mention the color? Beautiful! The quality of leather? Wonderful, substantial, and gorgeous! The Zappos service? Amazing! Zappos service is outstanding!

I love this boot in all respects except I've decided that I don't need this color. I was looking for a boot I could take on trips to cooler climates in the summer months that I could also wear if it rained. This won't fit the bill.

I absolutely love these. I have two other pairs of Fryes that I've owned for years, but these are the cutest I've seen yet. They are incredibly versatile, comfortable, and well-made. You will keep these forever!

These are great boots. I wore them for the first time (call me crazy) visiting a new city and did lots of walking. They are very comfortable, stylish and well-made. I did not get any blisters nor sore feet. I love them. I am hoping that they last a very long time!

Absolutely love. These boots were super tough to get on right out of the box, but that's good news to me. I took them on and off a few times the first night out, and they became increasingly more fitted to my foot. I wore heels all day before I went out in these, and my feet were soothed by the end of the night. So comfy and so cute.

Great boot, leather on the calf was a little grainy and rough, the foot was smooth, but that's just the nature of leather. I've grown to like the texture. Great with skinny jeans, skirts, tons of compliments. This is my 3rd pair of Frye and will buy more?

Every time I wear these I get a compliment, they are really comfortable, look great with leggings, skinny jeans and skirts...really everything. The color is a perfect distressed brown and the leather is so soft.

I really like these boots. They are gorgeous on, and I get lots of compliments. However, they vary a lot by individual boot. The pair I received from Zappos was slightly defected. The stitching that goes around the visible (top facing) sole of the boot - which is decorative only and is a bit jacked up on my pair. The stitching goes off to the side, and the sole in general is a bit jacked up. I liked the rest of the boot, though, and they fit well, so I didn't want to give them up. I took them to a department store to ask if they thought I should return, and the guy said they were definitely slightly damaged. I tried on other pairs there, and there were none I liked better, due to leather coloring and nuances. So, I think I am keeping these boots. I still have the box sitting here and have not yet worn them outside. For this price I think they should be perfect, but maybe I am being perfectionistic? Either way, gorgeous boot, just be aware that they vary individually.

I'm not sure I've ever written a review on Zappos, but I love these boots so much that I must. The leather is so soft and pretty. The color is perfect. Amazing boots.

I love these! Amazing boots, great quality, and the color on the leather is gorgeous. My first pair of Fryes and I think I'm hooked.

True to size. I wear a size 10 and have a wide foot and these are very comfortable! I have them in the dark brown shine color, as well as the black. I get compliments on them all the time. The only 'negative' about them, is that sometimes they can be stubborn to pull on, but as they are slowly getting broken in, it is getting easier to get them on.

I debated over buying these boots for a full year before I finally committed. I purchased the dark brown in a half size bigger based on the other reviews. I love them! They are perfect for fall, and look great with jeans, skirts, and dresses. I wear them almost every day. They're great quality and I highly recommend them.

I got two pair and sent one back. They were both different. The pair I sent back weren't as sturdy, the leather was softer and shinier. The pair I kept, was stiffer, and not as shiny but I decided they would hold integrity longer. These are comfortable, fun and sexy boots. I have gotten a lot of compliments on them. The color is perfect and go well with Skinny Jeans. I am still experimenting with other styles. They aren't as tall as I thought so they look a little funny with short dresses/skirts, but overall I love them! They are my favorite boot. Zappos return policy is amazing, so if you don't like there is not question on return!

These are the best boots ever. I have three pairs of Frye boots! I love these the most and they will be a favorite for years to come.

Love these boots! The color is beautiful and they are so comfortable. Took 3 different tries to get the right pair but it was worth it. The first pair the sizing seemed off since the left boot was noticeably bigger than the right and the heel seemed off kilter, the second pair the stitching was coming undone, but the third was just right. I wear a thinner sock with these boots so if you want to wear thicker socks go up a half size.

Very good looking boots and quite comfortable. They run a little small and I had to order a half size larger than usual.

If you are looking for a pair of casual brown boots, this one is for you! It looks great and comfortable. It's also true to size and width.

Beautiful boots! The leather is extraordinary. Unfortunately, they are way too tight across the top part of my foot & I have to return them.
