Received these as a Christmas present from my husband, they are beautiful! However, I did have to return them for a half size larger. I also had to do this with my Phillip Tall Harness with back zip Fryes that I purchased in November. So I would definitely suggest ordering a 1/2 size up, especially if you plan on wearing a thicker sock. Please be aware of the shaft height of these boots, they do slouch slightly and fall about 2 inches below my knee (I am 5'5"). They are not tall riding-type boots, the look of them are different, which i like. Have worn them 3 times and received compliments all 3 times. I have them in the Black Tumbled Full Grain Leather, which were recommended from another reviewer, so happy with my choice. Perfect deep black, leather is soft, but not too worn in looking or scratched up. Perfection, like all other Fryes!

Tough to get on but so much style and comfort. I got the Stone Wash color and was disappointed that the grey does not extend much above the foot, as shown in the picture. They look dirty, but with some rocking style! Love these boots!

I am so incredibly happy with these beauties! I looked everywhere for wide calf boots that fit bigger calfs. I am an average size woman (12) and have big calfs at 17"! I ordered these based off the reviews and how people felt how forgiving the slouch style is. Well, I was not disappointed!! They fit perfectly! The left boot seemed a bit smaller in circumference. I simply wore them around the house for a couple of days and now they are perfect! I will be ordering some more when I get some more gift money! Theses boots are pricey but, worth every penny!

I love this boot! So buttery soft and so cute! Unfortunately they are sold out of my size. Fits true to size. I normally wear a size 7.5 and the 7.5 fits perfect.

This is my fourth pair of Fryes I have bought this season. Yes, I have a problem. I live in a ski town in the Rockies and find that for work, I love the look and the comfort of the fries paired with toasty tights, leggings, and skinny pants. I initially ordered the veronica slouch in the chocolate vintage leather in 8.5. I usually wear a 9, but thought I'd size down in order to wear them into the warmer months with a very thin sock. The toe box on the right was too cramped, I could feel my toes banging on the reinforced toe cap with every step. Then there was the color. There might be people out there who love it, but I was almost horrified. It had a very shiny finish, but was all cracked and rough, felt almost like plastic. Aside from it being ugly, I also am not sure how the leather would have reacted to the frye leather conditioner, which is a must in the frequent slushy and salty conditions where I live. So back they went, and I ordered the dark brown tumbled full grain instead, but didn't change the size just in case I had gotten a smaller than usual right boot. Well they arrived yesterday, and I LOVED the look of the leather. Ridiculously soft and rich. They still felt a little small, but I was going to try to wear them in because I knew the leather would stretch. Then I noticed a cut in the leather on the shaft of the right boot. So I called Zappos up, and now have the size 9 boots coming. I'm hoping third time is a charm because I really want to start wearing these boots! Oh and I didn't really experience any problems getting my foot in the boot. A couple of firm tugs and they were in. I even have relatively high I steps and a wide forefoot.

Amazing leather boots! They take a bit of time to get broken into but that's a given with leather shoes! I have two pairs of Fryes and I'm planning on buying more! These will never go out of style and are a great addition to any closet! Fit is true to size.

These are beautiful boots. They are made from soft leather and are a great length. The leather is better looking in person. The toe box is a little narrow at first (with great instep fit and heel movement) but stretched with a few wears around the house. They are very versatile.

I read reviews from different sites before ordering these. I am between a 6 and 6 1/2. I was totally unsure what size to get. I ended up ordering the size 6 in Vintage burnt red. The boot goes right on, no struggling or stomping needed. It is a little tight in the heel area but I can tell it will stretch to be perfect after a few wearings. Boot is beautiful. The Vintage burnt red color is to die for. I was going to get Black but I'm glad I got the Red. Don't hesitate.

Love, love, love these boots! The leather is beautiful, so smooth with a touch of unqiue-ness in their grain... so stunning. I wear them everywhere, I even walked all over San Francisco in them and felt great. I always get a ton of compliments when I wear them. They are worth the money, trust me! I tpically wear an 8.5 and I ended up getting an 8 (I tried them on in a local Store) and they fit amazingly.

I have owned these boots for a year and still love them! They are a bit casual for work but are absolutely classic casual boots. They are incredibly comfortable and well made. I have numerous foot problems, but continue to gravitate back to these boots as my favorite, most comfortable boots. I ordered a number of Frye boots in my search for the perfect ones, and I still think this is it!

This is the first pair of Frye boots I've purchased, and they are true to their name. I wear a size 8 and they fit perfect. I love the buckle at the top so I can let it out for leggings so it doesn't stretch too much though it is a slouch boot. I've had so many compliments since I've worn them. I've worn them casual and to work. It's a beautiful, comfortable boot with excellent quality.

Most comfortable pair of boots I've bet owned! Didn't have to break them in at all! Wear them nearly everyday with anything and everything!

I love these boots! This is my first pair of Frye boots and I am pleased with my investment. This boot, for me, is true to size (I wear a 9 and ordered a 9...perfect fit). There is NO break-in period with the amazingly comfortable boots. I went shopping the first day I wore them and had no discomfort at all! I wear these with straight-leg jeans or leggings. This is my go-to fall to spring footwear. I plan to purchase the 'Veronica Short' in black.

These boots are amazing! A bit tight the first time I wore them but after about 2 more wears they fit like a dream! I love the vintage antique look.

These were really comfortable and nice quality. I'm returning them because they hit my calf at an unflattering point. They needed to be about 2" higher to work for me. I'm 5' 7".

I'm a 7.5 normally. So after reading reviews, I ordered my true size. However, I could barely get my feet in them (I have high arches), even with the plastic bag trick and silk socks. So I returned and got the 8. I still struggled to get these on the first 8 times, but eventually did. They are very comfortable and I love them. I get lots of compliments and for the money, I'd say are one of the most versatile boots I have. I wear them up and buckled, and I fold the top over sometimes for a more casual look with sweatshirts. I can't wait to break these babies in more so they look like authentic Sh!# Kickers.

I love these boots even more now than when I first got them. These are quality, thick-leather, last-a-lifetime-if-you-take-care-of-them boots. I've had them for 3 years now, and just replaced the heels and gave them a fresh polishing. I also love the lug-sole and weight of these boots; and find myself reaching for them on heavy-rain days as well as slushy/snowy days. I find them to be true to size, but I also wear thicker wool socks with them.

Oh-la-la! Love these boots, yet still returning them. I ordered the Stone Stone Wash and hoped to get a similar wash to that showed in the Zappos picture (after all Zappos re-photographs all their shoes) but they actually look more like the picture on the Frye website, more natural color less Stone. I was really looking for a stone color boot with a little natural leather. This was the opposite. But they fit like a glove (after wiggling into them) and were comfortable right out of the box. Beautiful distressed patina and very well made as all my Frye's are. So I'm returning them for Grey and a matching Hobo. Shhhh, don't tell my husband!

Had to return because of flapping noise it made against my calf in tights when I walked. I have average calf width and couln't make it tight enough to stop the noise. Gorgeous and great quality though. I tried hard to make myself keep them.

I am in love with these boots. I am about to purchase the short version in black. I love them.

I love these boots! They fit well. They are super comfortable! I can walk all day in these boots! Plus they look great, too. I did measure my calves and ordered the larger size and the shafts fit great. They were a bit snug the first day, but after that, they were perfect!

I am a Frye fanatic. I love Frye boots and live in them during the winter months in Utah. I own several pairs in various colors that I have acquired over time. I am a big fan of the Carson line of Frye and usually buy some iteration of them. This is the first time I have stepped out (no pun intended) and bought a different style. I have to say, I love these boots. Normally I wear an 8 in Frye's. Based on other reviews, I sized up to an 8.5 and glad I did. These are a bit snug at first in the toe box, but walking around in them, they have stretched to fit very comfortably with medium weight wool Smartwool socks. These boots are exquisite in their comfort and workmanship. The slouch is mild, but the profile they give one's legs is outstanding. I highly recommend this beautiful boot.

Let me give you stats about myself. Am 5 ft, 180 lbs. Because I am overweight, my calves are wider. I am normally a size 8 but have bone spurs on big toe so I am most comfortable in a wider toe box. After reading the reviews, I ordered 8 1/2. It is roomy in the toe box and very loose in the ankle. However, the shoe is kept in place after hugging my calves. My foot des not slide around in it because of the calf. I cannot fit a skinny jean inside but a legging would work. The toe box is stiff but that doesn't bother me because it is loose there. The color is very dark brown, almost black. It truly looks like a high quality boot. I can see why people would complain about the stiffness. With that said, the boot is getting looser by wearing it in the house. Patience would be key for a perfect fit. I am going to keep it. Hope this helps.

They fit! I didn't even have to get the wide calf. My calves are exactly 15 inches. All the other boots were too tight. These are comfortable and can be dressed up or down. My first pair of Frye boots. Can't wait to wear them.
