These run large. I usually wear a 41 but with these, a size 40 fit perfectly. Order a little smaller than your usual size. These shoes can seem a little on the pricier side, but they saved me hundreds of dollars that I otherwise would have had to spend on custom orthotics. I have flat feet, and work all day long standing up. I was almost disabled by my foot pain. These shoes saved me! They hurt like hell for the first week while you're breaking them in, but after that they're the most comfortable thing you'll ever put on your foot. Don't be put off by the firm sole, they feel so good.

Ordered these for my husband who has foot problems. Normally he would never go near Birkenstock shoes, and in fact had never so much as tried a pair on, but after wearing them for one day declared them the most comfortable shoes he had ever worn. He didn't want to take them off at the end of the day. The shoes look nice in person than online. The leather is good quality and the stitching very neat. The shoes do run large, and wide, as others have said, but because of the buckle they are pretty easy to adjust.

These shoes feel about a whole size too big. Even after putting on 2 pair of socks they were still too big. I suggest you order a smaller size than normal. But the shoes look great; great quality.

I looked at these shoes a long time before ordering. I have been wearing soft footbed Birkenstocks for a long time and was concerned about the footbed being too hard, but since returning them would not be a problem I decided to get them. They are great! It only took a few days to adjust to the footbed (with socks). Now my feet are warm when the north wind blows. Thanks Zappos for such wonderful service.

These shoes are great. I am used to the soft footbed so they took about 2 weeks of wearing them 8 hours a day to break in. After the break in period they have been really comfy. Most importantly, the fully enclosed shoe with the smooth leather keeps the rain out so that I can wear Birkenstocks in the winter or on rainy days.

This style took longer to break in than my other Birkenstocks (Boston and Arizona), but it has been worth the effort. I\'m not sure if it\'s a difference in the footbed or if I walk differently in a closed clog. In any case, they are working out very nicely with my work clothes.\r\n\r\n

These shoes came in 2 days. Were wonderful, I put them on, and have been wearing them ever since. Super service; I cannot say enough good things about the whole deal: shoes, Birkenstocks, and Zappos.

Love this shoe! I have foot problems and this is the shoe for me! It is very roomy in the toe area, and is a solid shoe that offers protection and support. It was comfortable initially, but has gotten increasingly comfortable with wear. VERY comfortable. It was so roomy, that I thought it was a "big" shoe. But I compared it to my tennis shoes, and it is only slightly bigger. Even though it's roomy, it stays solid on my feet, and I haven't had even a hint of a blister. It's not the cutest shoe -- looks a little "Ducky", but the comfort makes it worth it anyway. It also seems pretty scuff-resistant. Now that I am so impressed with the London, I think I will buy the Alabama too. And Zappos is as great as it's always been!

Perfect shoe for any service industry professional -
This is my fourth or fifth pair of Birkenstock Londons and I wouldn't wear anything else to work. I am a bartender with high arches who spends 12-16 hours per day on my diabetic feet, so I don't mess around with shoes. The insole on these is so comfortable and perfect for high arches. They also do a great job of protecting my feet from liquids, glass, greasy floors, etc., because the foot is fully covered and they have the great anti-slip soles. The toe grips inside take some getting used to if you've never worn Birks, but they make for a very natural step that is great for your back and results in very toned calves. One caveat is that Birkenstock does not offer half sizes, so be sure to order the next bigger size if you usually need a half size. These shoes are well worth the price if you spend a lot of time standing, plus a pair lasts me about a year and I put them through quite a beating.

Fabulous shoe -
I LOVE this shoe. It is my "go to" shoe almost every day. It is cute and comfortable. I only wish Birkenstock made more shoes, rather than mules or clogs.

Luv the London - but -
The quality & fit of the shoe is perfect. No break in time needed. As always I love the look of all Birkenstock shoes. They have their own stylish appearance. But this particular shoe has a different sole, not the standard outer sole that Birkenstocks have so I don't like the feel when walking but my feet DO NOT hurt. I would not buy another pair with this type of sole. It changes that comfy feel that I've been use to all these years.

Zappos Rules!
I ordered my shoes Thanksgiving night. They were on my porch the very next afternoon! Talk about fast. Even more wonderful was how cute theses shoes are! I had Milanos about 15 years ago, but these are my first Birkenstock closed shoes, and they did not disappoint. Love them. I highly recommend them to anyone with wide feet or painful bunions, as I have. But my highest praise is reserved for Zappos. Polite, friendly, efficient. I couldn't be happier. I tell everyone to go Zappos!

I LOVE this shoe... but like so many others, I had problems with the fit in the toe box. I tried a half size larger, but that was too big in the heel. I kept my usual size and wore them anyway. The first few times were a little rough, but now, they are great. I never had problems with the cut-outs rubbing and am so happy I kept them instead of sending them back.

Ugly Comfort -
These are not the prettiest thing at the dance, but they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. It took about a month to break in and the lack of padding in the footbed takes some getting used to. If you have a Birkenstock store nearby, I recommend going to one and trying on any pair of Birks to get the proper fit. It makes all the difference in the world. If you are an average width, try the narrow.

Basic Birkenstock comfort that can pass with dress slacks -
I just purchased my second pair of Londons - had them in brown for six months, now own the black. I like that these fit almost exactly like a Birk Arizona sandal, but the simple, smooth lines make them OK with nicer slacks (i.e., for office casual wear). I probably wouldn't wear them with suit and tie, but for slacks and shirt, they do the trick. I wish these were offered with the outsole used on the Alabama, as it seems a bit more resilient, and I like how the Alabama's sole is somewhat pre-shaped (i.e., curved). I wear the same size in London as in Arizona. If you have a very tall instep, you might have a problem. Mine just fits - and it did get better once the leather loosed up (about three months in).

I love my Londons!
I work in retail and spend 8 hours a day on my feet. These are the only shoes that I have been able to wear day in and day out. I wear a 7 1/2-8 wide so I ordered the 39 regular; they give me the arch and ankle support that I need with enough width so my toes don't bunch together. I was afraid that they might look too bulky when I ordered them but they don't. I get many compliments on them.

I am a teacher and on my feet all day. I've tried many different top name brands because I've always been told your feet are of utmost importance. This is the first shoe that I don't have to have an insole and at the end of the day I can take them off and no throbbing! A great shoe for casual occasions and work! I have owned several pairs of Birkenstocks and I always wear them out. They are expensive for a reason, you get what you pay for!

London Calling -
If you love Birkenstock, then you will love this shoe - Finally a fully leather shoe that has all the comfort of your Birk clogs.
I was reticent to purchase because I thought they looked clunky - but hey - it’s Birkenstock! - The shoe arrived the day after I ordered, and from the moment I put them on, I knew I was hooked - Since these are "Authentic Birkenstock's" you may want to size down if you wear Tatami or Papillo - I wear them with thin dress socks, and they are perfect - Leather is stiff and glossy - I believe these will need a few weeks of breaking in before they feel "buttery soft" - The insole is cork, and suede, and has all the support you expect from Birkenstock - there is a toe bar - which worried me at first -but if the shoe fits, the toe bar doesn’t bother.
Expect the best with Birkenstock - and Zappos!

Back to buy another pair--best for flat feet problems -
I have flat feet and plantar fasciitis as a result, so I need arch support. I wore out my last pair of Londons, and now I'm ordering a new pair. I'm not someone who typically spends a lot on shoes--my first pair was a bargain, but I'm now willing to pay the price for comfy, pain-free feet. Excellent arch support, durable, decent looking for comfort shoes--in short, everything I need in a casual everyday shoe. Long live the London!

These are wonderful shoes! I have two pairs: one in nubuk and the other in smooth leather. Compared to the smooth leather, the nubuk takes less time to break into due to the soft nature of the leather . But I wear mine with thin cotton socks, and I don't get blisters! I find it easier to get stain/dirt on nubuk than it is on smooth leather but wipe them with a damp cloth as soon as you see something and they should be fine. I had to get these one size up but still in the same width, I think because there's only one strap and it's at the top so your feet might slide back and forth a little more than if they were secured with the traditional Birkenstock sandals straps where they are evenly spread out. They look great with practically everything and are light and comfortable. These are my favorite shoes and I can go on forever about them! Get a pair and see for yourself!

Great minimal looking shoe -
I've worn Birkenstocks on and off for years. I'd been wearing a 44 until I went to have my Boston's resoled. The sales person told me I should really be wearing a 45. I took her advice, but always thought the clogs looked/felt too big. I'd wanted a pair of London's for quite some time, but found a 45 impossible to find anywhere until I checked Zappos, who had a 45 narrow. I decided to give it a shot and am happy I went with the narrow as opposed to the regular width. The sloppiness I felt in the 45 regular is gone and the shoe fits me very well and looks sharp with a variety of pants. If you're in between sizes, my advice is to go with the narrow.

Great shoe -
It starts off a little uncomfortable - like any solidly built leather shoe - but suddenly turns soft and comfortable after the tenth day. Since then, it's been perfect. A note on the Narrow vs. Regular. I have a pair in Regular width and Narrow width... the Narrow really is about the width of your average American shoe and the Regular is noticeably wide. I prefer the Regular, but it's not for everyone.
