Weird look, super comfort - These are even weirder looking in person than on the website. You may feel uneasy being seen in them, but you won't care. If you have wide feet and high arches, you won't want to go without them. These are typical Birkenstock comfort and fit. They feel very light on your feet. As with any leather shoe, they take awhile to break in. After that, they are perfect. Compared to typical shoes, Birkenstocks feel bigger and wider. Don't go smaller than your normal size. Your foot will like the unrestricted feeling. Beware, you may not want to wear normal shoes again.

Another great Birkenstock - I've owned my first pair of London's for over 5 years now and after the soles have been replaced 3 times they're still going strong. They run true to Birkenstock size (I'm a 44N) but with some fore-warning they do need adequate break-in time. The leather is good quality thick leather, but some saddle soap will help you. Extremely helpful in inclimate weather for all of those Boston wearers. If you wear a normal size width in regular shoes I would suggest getting a narrow size so it doesn't feel like your feet are "swimming" in the shoes. Order these and you won't feel let down.

The BEST shoes I have ever worn! I've had the same pair of these for 17 years, and I've worn them probably 4 days out of every 7, replaced the soles and heels countless times and the inner cork once, and they are still going strong. I have never worn a more comfortable shoe. They are a little on the dorky side in appearance, but I love these shoes more than any other!

The perfect shoe - These are very stiff at first. I wore them in my house on the carpet for 30 minutes for four days (on the advice of the Zappos Comfort specialist) and could immediately feel the cork insole start to conform to my feet. The leather started softening too, so I decided to keep them. After two weeks, they are the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned. The leather is soft and pliant and the cork insole provides very, very good arch support. They never stink for me, they don't fall off my feet like Danskos do, and I can walk in them all day. I settled on the Birkenstock London after trying seven other pairs of shoes from Zappos. It was worth the trouble.

Great shoe for long days on your feet!!! Third pair of London's I have owned and have loved them everytime! As a chef, I can spend anywhere from 10-16 hours on my feet and these continue to help keep my feet and legs fresh. They also have a considerably longer lifespan than many of the other so called kitchen shoes I have tried. Now that I have found a place that carries my size, I swill never stray again.

Ugly Comfort - These are not the prettiest thing at the dance, but they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. It took about a month to break in and the lack of padding in the footbed takes some getting used to. If you have a Birkenstock store nearby, I recommend going to one and trying on any pair of Birks to get the proper fit. It makes all the difference in the world. If you are an average width, try the narrow.

Birkenstock's London Shoe - I've heard all about Birkenstock shoes, but have never owned a pair before. A co-worker told me they get more comfortable the longer you wear them. Right now, I find them to be very hard on my feet. I have to wear an insert in order to soften them up some.

Basic Birkenstock comfort that can pass with dress slacks - I just purchased my second pair of Londons - had them in brown for six months, now own the black. I like that these fit almost exactly like a Birk Arizona sandal, but the simple, smooth lines make them OK with nicer slacks (i.e., for office casual wear). I probably wouldn't wear them with suit and tie, but for slacks and shirt, they do the trick. I wish these were offered with the outsole used on the Alabama, as it seems a bit more resilient, and I like how the Alabama's sole is somewhat pre-shaped (i.e., curved). I wear the same size in London as in Arizona. If you have a very tall instep, you might have a problem. Mine just fits - and it did get better once the leather loosed up (about three months in).

I love my Londons! I work in retail and spend 8 hours a day on my feet. These are the only shoes that I have been able to wear day in and day out. I wear a 7 1/2-8 wide so I ordered the 39 regular; they give me the arch and ankle support that I need with enough width so my toes don't bunch together. I was afraid that they might look too bulky when I ordered them but they don't. I get many compliments on them.

Very Comfortable! I am very happy with my Birkenstock's. I have had problems with my feet recently. I had to find shoes that offered support and comfort. These are the best!

Interesting Shoe - I guess I need to grow into the Birkenstock London. I bought them for a trip where I knew I'd need to do a lot of walking. I have narrow feet and a low arch so they were not so comfortable initially. However, the more I wear them the more I adjust to the contour of the shoe and all in all it's been a great experience. I hope to keep these shoes for a long while.

The Birkenstock SHOE - I've been waiting a while to get these. If you are the slip on slip off type these are not for you. You must undo the buckle and then do it up. No slip on slip off here. I'm sure in time the buckle will ease up and become easier to use. On the other hand the support is great and standing for a long time is no problem. I like that the cork is not exposed to the weather - So, I hope to have these for a long time and wear them often.

Best shoe ever! This shoe not only looks good but is comfortable and last longer than any other shoes I ever owned. This is the second pair I have bought but I go through shoes in 2 months time and I wore my first pair everyday for over a year. I liked them so much that I bought another pair just like the first pair.

The best shoes I've ever owned ! I bought my Birkenstock Londons 15 years ago. It is only on rare occasions, when I must wear another pair of shoes (for dress, for example) that my feet suffer. With my Londons on my feet always feel like they are on vacation. I wear them almost every day and have since the day I bought them. When the bottoms get worn I simply take them to my favorite shoe repair place and get new heels and/or soles at a fraction of the cost of a new pair. My Londons are almost like best friends. They always take good care of me. I keep them polished and they always look new. I have suffered many foot injuries throughout the years, broken bones, neuromas and even a ruptured Achilles tendon. In spite of it all, my Birkenstock Londons always feel beautifully comfortable. They are the greatest value in footwear that I know!

I live in my Birks and was looking forward to a pair that could live up to winter in the midwest. So far they are performing well, but are still very stiff. I don't recall my clogs taking so long to break in. I also developed blisters on the back of my ankles from where the leather rubs. Now that they are softening up a bit the blistering has subsided. I am a true size five and always order a 35 narrow in Birkenstocks. These shoes fit perfectly-they just need lots of breaking in.

The best! I own three pairs of Birkenstocks. I own a pair of Bostons, a pair of Milanos and of course a pair of Londons. The London is the best of all three by far! Not much too look at and a little stiff the first couple of days after first purchasing, but once you get it broke into your foot, it is the best shoe and the most comfortable shoe. I am an elementary teacher and I am on my feet a lot. I can wear the London all day long, and even into the night and my feet feel great at the end of the day! I would recommend these to everyone no matter what you do! Trust me they are the best shoe ever made! When these wear out, I will definitely get another pair! (Which will be years from now as Birks last forever!) Zappos has awesome service too! I shop with them all the time!

Back relief - Before I received these shoes my back would bother me a great deal when I shopped or was on my feet a lot during work at home or office. The next time I shopped wearing these shoes I had not one incidence of pain all day. Unbelievable! Although I still have some pain if I'm standing in one spot too long I think these shoes are great!

I love these shoes!! I have worn Birkenstocks for many years. My most recent pairs have been Boston’s but I decided I wanted the effect of a full shoe. The London’s are great!

So comfortable! These are such comfortable shoes, a little stiff to begin with before the leather breaks in, but a truly comfortable supportive footbed right away. Would definitely recommend this shoe. And Zappos were so fast at shipping them out! Very good service and product.

Anonymous - I am a teacher and on my feet all day. I've tried many different top name brands because I've always been told your feet are of utmost importance. This is the first shoe that I don't have to have an insole and at the end of the day I can take them off and no throbbing! A great shoe for casual occasions and work! I have owned several pairs of Birkenstocks and I always wear them out. They are expensive for a reason, you get what you pay for!

Like - This is my first pair of Birks. After a year in Danskos and falling in them numerous times, I wanted something flatter. These are... but not quite as comfortable as I was hoping. I really loved the way Dansko's felt, they just weren't safe for me. Recently went for 5 days in San Fran and had few foot issues. My heels hurt a bit, and occasionally my ankles. Anyway, I'll be wearing these for a good year and hopefully will become a convert. Cute. Price was so high.

London Calling - If you love Birkenstock, then you will love this shoe - Finally a fully leather shoe that has all the comfort of your Birk clogs. I was reticent to purchase because I thought they looked clunky - but hey - it’s Birkenstock! - The shoe arrived the day after I ordered, and from the moment I put them on, I knew I was hooked - Since these are "Authentic Birkenstock's" you may want to size down if you wear Tatami or Papillo - I wear them with thin dress socks, and they are perfect - Leather is stiff and glossy - I believe these will need a few weeks of breaking in before they feel "buttery soft" - The insole is cork, and suede, and has all the support you expect from Birkenstock - there is a toe bar - which worried me at first -but if the shoe fits, the toe bar doesn’t bother. Expect the best with Birkenstock - and Zappos!

Amazing shoes! When I wore them for the first time, the heel was a little uncomfortable. This lasted only for a day or two, and now I literally never take these off my feet, they are extraordinarily comfortable-- and great for inclement weather.

Back to buy another pair--best for flat feet problems - I have flat feet and plantar fasciitis as a result, so I need arch support. I wore out my last pair of Londons, and now I'm ordering a new pair. I'm not someone who typically spends a lot on shoes--my first pair was a bargain, but I'm now willing to pay the price for comfy, pain-free feet. Excellent arch support, durable, decent looking for comfort shoes--in short, everything I need in a casual everyday shoe. Long live the London!
