In my work I stand all day and at the end of the day my feet are throbbing. Since I started wearing my Londons by Birkenstock I can stand all day and there is no more throbbing. I am so relieved to have finally found shoes that allow me to work without taking pain relievers just to make it through the day. Thanks, Birkenstock! And thanks to Zappos for carrying them.

I have been a huge Birkenstock person for many, many years. I can pretty much buy any shoe without trying on size because I am consistently a 38 narrow. This review is more for people who are like me, and can pretty much blindly buy because you know your size. However, because of the way the way the backing of the shoe seems to push the Achilles heel section forwards, my toes kept scrunching in the front of the shoe, there's no way I could "break in" the shoe backing to make it comfortable. I couldn't walk a few feet without discomfort. I've ordered the 39 narrow to exchange. Hopefully, this will work better. Otherwise, I will have to return both sizes, which will make me very sad because I was counting on these to be my "winter" Birks. :*(

I would keep these, except that Zappos doesn't sell them in a small enough size. In every other instance, I am a 36 or a 5.5 or 6. However, the 36 in this shoe feels like it's one half to a full size too big! Same goes for a pair of Birkenstock Larisa sandals I just ordered, so maybe it's just something about size inflation with the brand?

I've worn Birkenstock sandals for years, but in the winter, I had to put up with sneakers that just didn't make it when I was on my feet all day. These are the most comfortable shoes I own, even if they are a bit clunky looking! Beware, though - the oiled leather stained my white socks.

I now have purchased three pair of Birkenstock sandals/shoes from Zappos. Great products, swift arrival, easy to return if necessary. For these products return was not necessary.

The shoes arrived quicker than excepted, they fit good, and are comfortable. The selection is great.

I am a lifelong Birkenstock wearer... it's the only shoe that does it for me on an everyday basis and even if I'm walking a lot. They're also wide enough for my feet, which aren't particularly wide but get scrunched in shoes like Converse. I wanted one for the fall/winter and decided to get these. With wool socks they are warm enough in ~30 degree weather (I live in Boston). I've even worn them in light rain and they were okay. They look beautiful and the oiled leather shines up nicely with wear. I would recommend taking some time to break them in, alternating with another pair of shoes, especially if you've never worn them before. True to size, I'm a woman's US 8.5 and wear a 39.

I bought these for my husband and he loves them. He has a pair of Birkenstock sandals, so these are his "winter" (we live in California not much of a winter here) shoes. When he first tried them on he was afraid they were a little tight but I told him to wear them and they would mold to his foot, which after two or three wearings, they did. I just wish they weren't so damn ugly.

These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. I wear them every day. They're also really unique. I've never seen anyone else wearing them, and I get tons of compliments when I wear them. I normally wear a 6.5 or a 7 regular width but I got these in a womens 6-6.5 narrow.

These are great! I have a pair of 10 year old Bostons that I love, but wanted a pair I could wear to work. These fit that need perfectly, and they are so comfy,

Love these shoes, now have shoes I can comfortably wear with or without socks. They are not sexy but are definitely one step up from trainers which I used to live in. Buy whatever footbed size of Birkenstocks you normally wear.

I am an owner of five different styles of Birkenstocks over the years, and have have loved them all. These shoes tend to break in effortlessly. Comfortable and great for walking. The arch support is excellent and toe box has plenty of room.

I love Birkenstocks. I have two pair of sandals. I normally wear a 5½ but these are huge on me. I wish that I could get these in a smaller size.

These shoes are as advertised. I have walked for miles in these since I purchased them about a month ago, and they are absolutely as comfortable as I have read about in previous reviews. The arch is pronounced; there is a slight ridge in front of the toe-pads; and the heel sits in a perfectly shaped depression. All of these really make the footbed fit the shape of my foot quite nicely. It's not only the shape, but also the padding that make these my new favorite. I would also add that the space for my toes is perfect. These shoes do not crush your toes into an unnatural point, nor are they too flat in the toes like many men's shoes. I thought they might look goofy; the shape is certainly atypical. You can never tell for certain from photos. While I admit they look more unusual than the tropical shoe, I now really appreciate the look and uniqueness. I chose this shoe with the tan felted material in front, and the rich brown leather in the heel area. This combination is really well-done. I think it is a nice contrast, and it makes the shoe stand out in a good way. Would recommend these without reservation. After wearing these -- and this may be the shoe's only drawback -- they make all my other shoes that much more uncomfortable.

My 4th pair of Birkenstocks in 20 years. These are replacements for a pair of Boston's that I abused for 10 years. I wanted something more formal that I could get away with in the office and these fit the bill perfectly. I have narrow feet and the narrow size fits perfectly. The corks soles feel great and only get better with time. With the re-soling program I have these for another 20 years.

My husband loves these. He wears 12.5 and the size 45 N fits him well. They are lightweight, sleek, and pass for business-casual wear. Great for people working at standing desks.

These look ok, still kind of frankensteinish, but can be worn to work. Without looking sloppy. These shoes are hard and the toe lines aren't the same imprint as my actual toes. I do not recommend.

Fun, comfy, dependable. If I need to be on my feet for the day, this is one of my go-to pairs. 4 stars for style because, like most Birkenstocks, they look a little clunky.

I started having foot problems after standing on my feet for my job for the past 30 years and after wearing these, foot pain gone! Love them. They are my favorite shoes even though they may not be the most pretty shoes my face is prettier after wearing them all day because it has a big smile on it! After standing all day on the job, instead of wanting to sit down and rest my feet after work I feel like I don't have to, I can do other things it's like I have a new lease on life; wish I would have got them sooner. I will buy another pair of these they are that good, recommend very highly.

I have tried gel inserts and they did not help with the pain in my arches. I saw a foot doctor and he recommended cortisone shots, orthotics, sound wave treatment, and laser treatments. The shots I heard had side effects, so that was not an option and the others were very expensive ranging from a couple hundred to over a thousand. A friend recommended Birkenstocks. These did the trick on Day 1 and I have been wearing these for over a month and love them.

Earlier this year I bought my first pair of Birkenstock sandals and fell in love with them immediately. I wore them almost every day in the summer and as the colder weather started to approach I knew I would have to figure out a way to wear Birkenstocks year round. Obviously, the socks and sandals look is not an option (this particular sartorial choice is only acceptable for eccentrics and German hikers). I was aware of the clog design but that's a style I just couldn't bring myself to embrace (they can be attractive on ladies, but on guys, not so much). Luckily, I discovered Birkenstock makes a shoe with a fully covered heel. Just what I was looking for! I ordered them despite the fact that the London's initially seem to be a rather ridiculous looking shoe -- indeed, my wife snickered a bit when I first put them on -- but they actually appear quite stylish when worn with long pants or jeans. The comfort level of the footbed is equal to that of my sandals and I found the manufacturing of the upper portion to be excellent. After my second pair of Birkenstocks in less than a year, I'm happy to consider myself a loyalist to the brand and look forward to purchasing many more in my lifetime.

This is my third pair of Birks and I love them, though not as much as the Basel. They seem a little pricey but so far I'm happy with them. I wear a 37 in all Birks and haven't experienced any rubbing or foot sweating problems as other reviewers have described. They appear to be more sturdy than the other Birks I own. The Keen Jasper is still my favorite ever.

I own a size 43M in the Milan. The Milan's fit perfect with my toes coming nearly to the end, so I didn't know if I should get a 44 in the Londons. I called Birkenstock and they said whatever you get in the Milan, you should get with the London. So I ordered the 43 and my toes pushed in the end of the shoe, and then had to order the 44, which felt just right. So either the Londons are slightly smaller or they don't have enough room in the toe to wear exactly the same size as the Milan, and Birkenstock (in California), was incorrect. Having some toe room, obviously, is great with socks, as I plan on wearing these in the colder months. So like someone has stated, go up a size from your current open-toed sandals. The buckle on the Londons give the shoe a perfect fit with no movement whatsoever with your feet in the shoe. Highly recommended. And thanks to Zappos for letting me order a few before I figured this thing out. Lightning fast shipping.
