Good shoe - The New Balance MW926 is a good shoe for those who have wide feet. I face the challenges of having a 4E (EEEE) foot with an extremely high arch. This combination make most footwear absolutely out-of-the-question for me. I can recommend the width as truly being 4E, for the first time in years I did not have to buy an extra large size. The insert is probably adequate for most users without modification. I will definitely consider NB products again.

Great comfort - I buy a lot of shoes, looking for comfort and fit and it’s not easy to find good shoes these days. That being said, the New Balance 926 is pretty close to perfect, very comfortable, nice fit, I highly recommend it. I wish it had a little more arch support though.

At least it's wide enough to fit my feet. This is my second pair of these shoes. I have wide feet, use orthotics, and New Balance is usually my best for a walking shoe. They have other shoes I like better, but for a little extra money that I don't want to spend. These work well enough.

It’s an OK shoe - Was looking for a replacement for the Adidas Superstar Shell Toes. I can only find them in a D width and need something wider. This one actually felt wider than advertised. I have moderate to severe underpronation and was hoping for something with more stability in the right heel area that wouldn't allow for so much roll-out/walking on the side of my foot. This shoe felt good for the first month and is now starting to breakdown and roll out. If you underpronate (supinate), this isn’t the shoe for you (unless you feel a month of use is sufficient. The shoe also "squeaked" in the first two weeks.

Uncomfortable - I have had and loved many New Balance shoes over the years but these are the most uncomfortable ones I ever had. Had to remove the inserts and put in a pair of gel pads just to be able to wear them in comfort.

Best of a bad bunch. Shoes never fit me. I have a narrow heel and a very wide forefoot that stays wide right to the end of my very long toes. My wife calls them monkey toes but they're useful for picking up things. These shoes almost fit. At least they are wearable after the innersole broke in. They have the widest toe box matched with a narrow heel that I've found so far, and I've bought and returned a couple of thousand dollars worth of shoes from Zappos in recent months. That included other SL2 lasted New Balance shoes too. The toe box is very high and roomy so no complaints about getting squished there. The shoes look very big but I guess that's to be expected if you need to wrap them around big feet.

VERY TIGHT - Well I had a pair of NB...very comfy...so I decided to get these...they were the extra wide 6E...they feel like D width very very tight. I guess NB...is like most other companies and trying to save money by using less material. If you have wide feet, don’t expect this shoe to fit properly.

Very Comfortable, but Super Ugly - The shoe is super comfortable and roomy, perfect for any foot, but looks like an enormous white moccasin. It's definitely boxy, square, and not the least bit stylish, but if you don't care about looks and weight (it's a bit heavy), then this is the perfect walking shoe for you.

After reading other reviews it seems that this shoe is better suited for those with a wider foot as I wear a B and the upper leather is very large and could easily accommodate several pairs of socks. The look is very klutzy, the shoes are heavy (16 oz) and they squeak. My podiatrist and several shoe stores recommended this shoe and when first tried on seemed okay but after wearing for long periods of time made my feet tired. I was happy to take them off, my feet felt freed! The look is improved when worn with slacks/jeans that partially cover the heavy, orthotic look.

"The Squeaker Sneaker" The pair I'm reviewing is my 3rd pair. The first squeaked after about 2 weeks of wear. The noise was so loud you could only wear them outside without getting comical looks. The second pair squeaks, but not as bad as the first. The 3rd pair I have only worn twice & so far no noise. They are really a very comfortable shoe, but I wish New Balance would do something about the problem. I have worn & liked the #925 but I'm told it is no longer available in my size.

Supination problem - Bought to relieve hip problem caused by walking on the outside of my shoe (supination). Shoe did not help but found that Birkenstock shoes with the rigid support system gave instant relief.

Comfortable shoe but noisy - When I first received my New Balance 926 I tried walking around the house for several days insuring I felt comfortable with the shoe while honoring the Zappos return policy. The fit was fine and felt comfortable. The final test would take place in my planned daily two-mile walk, which was the primary reason for purchasing the New Balance 926 model. During that walk, I noticed a pronounced squeak resonating from right shoe. Not knowing if the squeak came from the shoe or a combination of both the sock and the shoe I replaced my cotton socks with a pair of New Balance Cool Max polyester socks. Unfortunately the squeak persists and my daily routine is marred with the constant noise emanating from the right shoe every time I take a step. At this point, I wonder if I might have received a factory second from Zappos or just unlucky. I would never have expected this from a company with New Balance’s reputation. This was my first purchase from Zappos.

Save My Back - I work on my feet a little over eight hours a day, on concrete no less. This of course is horrible on my back. I'm only twenty-one, but at the end of the night my lower back is almost always in severe pain. As far as this shoe goes, I'll admit it didn't remedy the back pain entirely, but out of all the shoes I've tried; it has made a significant improvement.

Wide enough - Finally a shoe that fits and looks ok. This is my second pair, the first one the sole separated from the leather at the toe after several months of lots of wear. I hope this one lasts longer, but I am glad to have a shoe that fits. Adding an arch support feels even better.

IN B WIDTH MUCH TOO WIDE! I don't know what size other reviewers own, but in a 16B much too wide! I save this shoe as an example of how much width difference there can be in shoes from same manufacturer marked same size, but in different styles!

I liked the 925 better - Just to be fair, I'm not an expert on pronation/supination, etc... So I'll just make it simple. The shoes, yes, they are very comfortable in the way good shoes are, but they feel "out of balance". They are heavy, too heavy, but they're heavy in an unbalanced way. Almost like they're working against you somehow. They're also quite ugly. The leather has a alligator-skin type thing going on that's just no good. My 925's on the other hand, I loved those things, couldn't bear to give them up, but it was time. Quality on these, as always, is great, they're just not "balanced" - they need a counterweight or something. Feels good taking them off.

I like Rockport better - Rockport discontinued the model of walking sneaker I used to purchase so I decided to try a New Balance Walking sneaker. I am very disappointed with New Balance's best model of walking sneaker. The left shoe/sneaker is actually smaller than the right one. I have tried "breaking it in" but I am very uncomfortable with the left sneaker only. It is too late to return the purchase because I have worn them and there is too much wear on them. It could be just a flaw in New Balances' production or quality control...but I have never had a problem in 54 years with just the left sneaker being too small and the right side being fine.
I'd also recommend:
¿not sure? since Rockport could not give me an accurate replacement for their discontinued model.

Bad Choice - Shoes look good & fit good. Problem is that my feet hurt after wearing them for any length of time. I have only worn them twice and will not use them again. I guess I will give them to Goodwill. Jim T
