Excellent light hikers - These shoes were immediately comfortable. I felt they ran true to size and width though could have been a little bit roomier in the toe box. Above all, the Zappos service was excellent, much better even than anticipated.

Aching feet gone - I was very happy with my shoes. I have bad feet and work in a kitchen on concrete floors. These were very comfy, and do not make my feet hurt.

Good walking shoe. Looks almost like a low cut hiking boot.

Great shoe!!! These are the most comfortable shoes I have had in a long time!! I own two pair. I have very flat feet so I wear these with an insert. I can wear these all day and my feet and legs feel great at the end of the day!! Can't say enough! I also have a very narrow foot and these fit great in narrow.

Great hiking shoes - Love the shoe. Only thing is they are hot, don't breathe well because of being water proof. Perfect for fall and winter.

New Balance WW965 - I have a very narrow foot and wear orthotics, and this shoe accommodates both. Another reviewer commented that the shoe rubs high on the foot -- just below ankle. I found that true, but only when the orthotic is inserted. Did have to order a half size larger than usual. Water-repellent and sturdy, just what I was looking for.

Great Shoe! Incredible Service!! Finally, a company wised up and gave us something besides white shoes. These are serious walking shoes and I wore them to walk 3 miles the very first day I had them. As some of your other reviewers stated, they were stiff (I guess because of the waterproofing) at first, but they are beginning to soften up and I wore them at Disney World and they were very comfortable. They are well cushioned and make a big difference in feet and legs after a long day. Thanks for the terrific service, Zappos.

One of the best pair of shoes I have ever had! I had read a review on Zappos for this shoe that said these shoes were great. No lie there! They are comfortable with plenty of support. They provide good traction and the fact that they are water proof is an added bonus. I take a size 10.5, which is hard to find in retail stores. Zappos was the way to go! I will definitely purchase from them again.

Comfy waterproof sneakers - These are great. I have trouble finding comfortable boots because I have large, wide feet as well as plantar fasciitis. These are comfortable like a sneaker, but waterproof like a boot. They're perfect for my commute. Obviously they're not going to be good in really deep snow, but for rain and smaller snowfalls, these are wonderful.

Normally love New Balance shoes, but this one was stiff, not very padded inside, and the toe section ran very wide. They're cute, but didn't work.

Good shoe for muddy or snowing conditions - This shoe is really useful. My only complaint is that the laces come up really high on the front of the foot, and limit movement a little.

New Balance WW965 - Attractive but a bit narrow. I like the SL-1 last better for my wide feet.

Good for day hikes! I have long, narrow, difficult to fit feet. I haven't had good luck with NB shoes before, usually too short and uncomfortable. I've been desperate for something I can hike in and couldn't find anything, but this fits, feels decent, and works for me.

New Balance Waterproof Walkers - As a dog walker with an odd size 5W foot, I can always count on New Balance for good fit and performance. These are a bit pricey, but are well worth it for what I do. Good support, traction, comfort and warmth.

Great shoe! No breaking in period. Comfortable from the first day. My Chiropractor advised me on getting a New Balance shoe, with a higher number, because I am on my feet standing all day, and I have some back trouble as well as sore feet. Very pleased with this shoe. I would recommend to anybody who is on their feet all day.

New Balance WW965 - Love them. Tried them out hiking this weekend in the Ozark Mountains. I do need to wear a thicker pair of socks, but overall they are great. Long time Zappos customer who appreciates your excellent customer service. Thanks!

Great walking and everyday shoe - I am extremely pleased with the shoes. The fit is great. They run to the roomy side but not a sloppy fit. I can wear thin or thick socks. The support is good. My feet do not get hot in them even when wearing them all day. We live on the coast of the Pacific Northwest. We've had a great deal of rain lately and my feet stay absolutely dry. I LOVE these shoes! I ordered a pair for my mom who is 78 and she loves hers as well!

Great shoe! Got these for light hiking. Though I wore them for a couple of weeks around the house before going, I don't think I needed to - they were comfortable from the start. I do wear them with an orthotic for additional cushion & support.

A 5 star rave - Finally a pair of shoes that I could put right on and wear with no spots rubbing and making sore areas. I have a note to myself to order these same shoes when I get back from vacation.

Very good shoes - I love these shoes! I had never owned a pair of New Balance before, but I decided to try them out this time because many people seem to like the brand. I picked this model because it was made for walking, were waterproof (I live in the Northwest), rugged enough to take on trail hikes, but still looks nice enough for casual days at the office. I was sold on this pair of shoes the first day I walked out of the house wearing them. They are light, roomy at the toebox, have good heel support, generous padding at the ankles, and very comfy. The one minus is that it's a pricey pair. But, hey, my feet ain't hurting -- and I'm hoping my feet will stay dry during the long rainy months. This will not be my last pair of New Balance shoes. Zappos was great -- they upgraded my shipping to UPS two-day air. Free! I mean, who does that?

Very comfortable & waterproof - This shoe has great support, is rugged without being too heavy, and waterproof - making it perfect for daytime errands or adventures.

Comfy and very cute! I love these shoes. However, I think the man's version (MW965) is just a little bit nicer looking. Aside from that, I wouldn't change a thing!

Good Looks! I was very pleased to see that New Balance finally had a Brown shoe that didn't look like a bowling shoe. It fits a bit stiffer than a sport shoe (thus the "4" for comfort) but then again it IS waterproof and will be great on those slushy winter days. The tongue is a bit large and hits the base of the ankle if tied tightly but backing off on the laces just a bit solves the problem. I am pleased with my purchase and it will suit my needs just fine. I use a hiking footbed in my shoes and these accommodated them very well.

Sole too stiff - no give or bend when walking. Maybe it's me...I'm not a hiker, but even with trying 2 different pairs of socks, the shoe kept sliding off my heel?? The shoe size and comfort level were fine. In fact, they felt excellent...until I started walking in them. I think the sliding off my heel was because the shoe's sole has no give and does not bend at all with my stride. The sole is very thick and not pliable. I also didn't care for the look when I received them, as there is too big of a gap between the lace holes which made them look like boxer's shoes. However, I LOVE New Balance. I always buy their brand through Zappos. By the way...isn't Zappos fantastic??!!

New Balance WW965 - I liked the shoe. The size seemed true. There was a little rubbing on the right side of the right shoe, but seems to be ok now.
