Most comfortable boot/shoe I've ever owned. Only flaw is the tumbled, pebbled lizard leather. Propet should make them in an oily flat waterproof leather they would be perfect.

I bought these boots for working in the yard. We have a hill going down to the lake and I was looking for something sturdy with good traction on pine straw. I really like the look and they are well made. However, the dumb way they have the laces going through a loop on the tongue won't last long. I also think they should have had used one less set of loops and use another set of "quicklace" fasteners. The tread is very aggressive and you are sure to have full of dirt so take them off outside. I like the ankle support but I have no foot or arch problem so I can't comment on those qualities. I wear a 12-5E and I had to return them for an 11-5E. I returned them the day I got them and Zappos had a new pair at my house the next day!

I wear either a 12 4E or a 11.5 4E normally. I got 11.5 5E, and the width worked alright, but the length was longer than one of my 12s for sneakers. I returned them and went down to 11, and this seems to be the closest length, though it's still a little looser than I'd like. Doing up the laces tightly and going to the top is sufficient. Other than that, they're nice boots, and they look like they'll hold up well.

The boots look great and I like them but I had to order a bigger width because you did not have my size. I also had to replace the laces right away because I did not know what to do with the four extra feet of lace that came with the shoes. It is hard to grab the first hook with the laces through the loop on the tongue so I bypass the loop. Also, the hooks rotate making it difficult to lace at times.

Overall good shoe for the money. Hard to find extra wide shoes at decent prices. These shoes need to be broke in then will be fine.

I know you all read reviews and say, oh yeah, I bet you that was generated by the company, but I am a regular Joe Blow male, and I normally don't bother to write a review. I am a 62 year old that looks at what he wants, don't give me a hassle or try to add on to a sale, just give me what I want. I found Zappos thru my 26 year old son who won't buy only products from Zappos, he has never had a problem, and I can tell you my experience has been nothing short of Awesome service from Zappos. The staff has been absolutely fantastic and resolve any issues I may have had, with speedy result. I will always recommend Zappos to everyone! Thanks Zappos!

Good sturdy, supportive shoe. I am a package delivery driver and this shoe keeps my feet and ankles well supported. No need to wear my orthotics in this shoe. The only thing I did not like were the shoe laces. Laces were much too long. I had to cut the excess and burn the ends.

These are nice work boots. They are sturdy so far, and comfortable. My feet always hurt after a 10 hour work day, all of it on concrete. With other boots, it has been hours after work before they stopped aching. With these, half an hour of rest, and I can actually walk without wincing again. The existing insole though was mighty thin. A basic Dr. Scholl's work insole was a great fix.

Very nice looking and sturdy, but runs a little long and is stiff for my feet. The insole is cushy, though.

These are great shoes. Very well made and very comfortable. The size (9.5,5E) was right on. Hard to find wide shoes that are comfortable. The laces were rediculously long and seem a little cheap for the shoe quality. The "collar around your ankle seemed a little loose.

True to my size (9 EEE), very comfortable except for one flaw (the same with both of two pair I bought): the right boot tends to tilt my heel slightly to the right. I have not returned the boots because I had worn them and didn't have the heart to further abuse the fantastic Zappos policy of shipping and paying return shipping costs ad infinitum. Also, the Propet Cliff Walker is the only boot among countless ones that I tried that perfectly and comfortably fit my feet.

These shoes are great. I ordered 5E and they were plenty wide, and comfortable. They are sturdy. and waterproof.
The laces are far too long and had to be cut. Also, the fit around my ankle was a little loose so I added some padding

Great looking shoe but, sizing is confusing. First tried the 16 in medium and had to return. Tried the 16 in the next width wide. Also had to return. The toe box was pressing on my hammer toes painfully. I get that support is the reason, but the last is just not made to flex easily. I'll have to seek the help of a podiatrist before I waste my time and stress my very tight fixed income.

Ordered a pair of these (or something similar) several years ago. Size 11, 5E. Fit great. Knowing that either my feet have grown or manufacturers have downsized length & width, I ordered this in both 11.5 and 12 5E. The size 12 felt much smaller than the size 11.5, pointing to a rather severe QC issue. Very common with New Balance and now with Propet. Only solution is to only buy in store - not usually possible for wide shoes - or order multiple pairs from Zappos until I hit, by chance, a pair that actually fits. I'm sure Zappos loves when that happens.

These run very large. I bought a similar New Balance boot in the same size (8) from Zappos and it fit well. Unable to get the Propet boot in the shorter length I need. I like the way the boot feels and asked to have Zappos notify me if it becomes available in a smaller size.

I am a FedEx driver in NYC and I do a lot walking daily but this is a great shoe if you don't do a lot of walking. I received these shoes on 9/23/13 and the soles are basically worn out already but they are pretty comfy. I had some major foot pain the last several weeks with a different brand but after wearing these boots the pain decreased 10 fold. The upper part of the boot still looks good. The lacing system and the tongue are a bit bulky and cumbersome but again, I can't stress it enough - if you do a ton of walking, do not buy this boot.

I've been wearing these for hiking for over ten years and have purchased 11 pairs. I've always been able to buy the now discontinued oil skin, light tan style which has a mesh tongue. The oil skin version is now gone and my only choice are these totally 'waterproof' things which are incredibly stiff, seem to be narrower than the old ones and make my feet sweat. The tongue is now made with some type of solid material. Due to the stiffness, they don't seem to want to break in and stretch a little here and there like the oil skin ones, making these boots now pretty uncomfortable for wearing them for more than 15 mins at a time. I am one customer who now has to go and find another manufacturer who makes a decent size 16 hiking boot. The old ones used to fit well, not anymore. Too bad.

These are nice boots but they are far too narrow considering they are marked as having been 5E. I have a wide foot but 5E should have easily accommodated the width. They are well padded and feel very supportive to your foot. I am disappointed that they didn't fit. I think they would have been a very comfortable boot for everyday wear and definitely for hiking. Oh well, you win some and you lose some.

I have wide feet. Local stores no longer carry wide sizes. That's why I buy online. I have had Propet shoes in the past and liked them. These simply did not fit the stated size (10 1/2) or width(5E). Too small and too narrow.

NOT up to Propet standards. The leather isn't high quality and even though it was true to size, it stretched badly after one wearing and looks like it won't last. The loop on the tongue to hold the laces is way too high, and it makes you capture one of the temporary eyelets which means you MUST take lots of care to lace them up because the laces come off those eyelets and you must put them back-a real pain! The finger loop on the back is so small it is completely USELESS! I have NO idea why it is so small, the other three pairs of Propet hiking boots had large finger pulls to help get the shoe on, and not even my wife can insert her finger in this tiny loop. Therefore, i need either a shoe horn, unlace a lot of the boot, or bend in the back of the boot and reach in and pull it back out. i do NOT like these at all, they also make your feet sweat even now in the winter with high quality cotton socks. Once on, they are comfortable, but these are NOT of the high quality and excellent design that Propet has always delivered in shoes/boots. To me it seems they had a cheap china plant contract manufacture them. i will not buy another, and only bought these because they no longer offered the other hikers in a wide.

I liked the style of these boots and was excited that it came in 3E. I have to agree with another review in that the boot was larger all over. The toe width was great but the rest of the boot was large also. I tightened up the laces and it felt like the boot was pulling on my heel. It might be better for a larger foot? Also the heel area was not comfortable. I returned them right after trying them on.

I've been wearing these for years but had to send the last batch back. Putting the one I ordered on the table, sole to sole with my last pair, the new one has got to be half an inch narrower. Apparently they're made in a China now. They must not believe anyone can really have feet this wide.
I only wanted to rate comfort. Since I couldn't bear to get it on I couldn't very well assess arch support.
I'd also recommend:
Forget Propet. I've always liked SAS but they don't make a good hiking boot.
