I absolutely love these boots. I tried on several pair, and these were the most comfortable. They fit my narrow heel but wider forefoot really well. I had to go up a whole size though. I normally wear a 8 to 8 1/2 dress shoe, size 9 running shoe.

For years I've hiked in a pair of heavy, sturdy leather boots (Merrell Blast); I was looking for something lighter, but just as well constructed and high enough on the ankle to provide protection and support. These are perfect. They fit like a dream right out of the box and never required any "breaking in." They make moving feel good. So far I've only tested their waterproofing briefly, in a half-hour slog through slightly slushy snow on Mt. Rainier. They kept my feet completely dry. I do recommend buying a half-size above your street shoe size: I normally wear a 6.5, and the 7 Targhee II Mid fits me well with one medium-thick sock layer.

These boots are fantastic! I took them straight out of the box and wore them for two 5 hour, 2,500 feet in elevation hikes in 3 days! I crossed small creeks, scrambled over rocks, and balanced on logs 10 feet in the air and these boots handled all of it magnificently! My only mild complaint would be I wish these came in a cuter color option, but hey you are hiking not going out to dinner.

I went with Keen because I have another pair of their boots that I really enjoy. Their size 9 is perfect for my foot. This boot fits really well with a good hiking sock. The only complaint I would have is their arch support isn\'t the best.

These boots are great. I ordered them for day hiking in the canyons out west. Wanted a supportive, comfortable boot that would protect my ankles. I ordered 1\/2 size larger as advised and they are perfect with a cushy pair of socks. Nice wide toe bed (which is important to me as I have Reynauds syndrome and need the circulation space). Needed to wear a few times so my ankles weren\'t sore, but they broke in quite easily and are very supportive.

I have tried on about every single hiking boot out there thanks to Zappos easy return policy and these were the only ones that fit right. I own 2 pairs and I keep in my husband's car for those spur of the moment hikes. The sole is the best! The fit is great except they are a little short so I recommend ordering 1/2 size larger than normal which is pretty normal for boots anyhow. I will say after wearing and hiking in them for over a year now that they do tend to leave my Achilles tendon a little sore after hiking but the positives outweigh the negatives.

This is a great hiking boot, I live in them for weeks at a time during my field season. They were comfortable from the start and broke in very quickly. I usually don't like hiking shoes that go above the ankle, but these provide great all-around support and don't make my ankles feel constricted. My feet are snug and comfortable, and the boots feel true to size. The only negative is that I'll need to add some sort of waterproofing to them and after walking through a dewy, grassy field at dawn they were pretty much soaked through. However, they dried quickly and I've worked on wet mornings since without a problem. Overall a great shoe, and I anticipate getting another pair of these when I wear them out in a year or two.

I just wrote a review for my son's pair of size 8.5 same shoe. We loved the comfort and waterproofing. I think my feet look kind of bulky in these shoes, but it was worth it for the many hours we spent in them. A little bulky too for climbing (not technical climbing of course).

No break in time needed. Waterproof and comfortable according to my son who wore these due to inabilty to find the right shoe for him in boys. We did a 28 day trip out west with a lot of rock scrambling, hiking and a bit of climbing.

As always excellent service from Zappo\'s representatives. My shipment arrived 10 hours after I made the order. The shoe fitted perfectly and I am very happy. This is my second Keen Targhee II shoe. Unfortunately the shoe does not seem to stay waterproof more than a year, but since the fit is excellent I just get a new pair.

Very comfortable hiking shoe! Hardly needed to break it in. Good ankle support. Shoe laces remained tied.

I'm very disappointed with the performance overall of this shoe. I love Keen products and have had this same shoe twice before. But it is very clear that this newer version is made cheaper. My 3 year old Targhee II are softer soled than these and even the lining is noticeably cheaper, thinner. I laced and re-laced, tried different socks, even different days, but no luck. They just are not as well made as they used to be. My right foot literally hurt just from wearing the shoe itself. Highly unusual for a Keen experience. Proceed with caution at this price.

I have a wide but small foot with narrower heel, basically 6 1/2-7 1/2 fits D or EE equal to W in most brands (La Canadienne) or sometimes WW. Or I stick with wide cut brands (Gentle Souls). This is my first Keen boot or sandal. I was looking for day hiker that was waterproof and fit, period. I used the consumer search site hiking boot research from I believe summer 2009 and tried on many styles and brands they found recommended including TNF, Garmont, Lowa, Merrill but all weren't wide enough except for the Keen Targhee II Mid. I've been on one hike with them and as a new hiker boots worked well on a medium level hike. I bought 7 1/2 which fits well and I adjust with socks and laces a bit. They look cute, too. I believe durability will be fine and when I wear them out in a few years, as those with hard to fit wide feet know, I'll just buy new pair because fit in the width is my biggest issue.

These shoes are like butter! I ordered them a half size up as recommended. The first time I wore them, I walked about 4 miles and no issues at all. Then I used them the next weekend to walk 12.4 miles, no problem. I am not a shoe person, but when I see these lined up with my other shoes, I just smile. Maybe it's the color combination (laurel oak/peppercorn). I haven't checked out the waterproof yet, but will soon. Couldn't be happier with the shoes or with Zappos service.

I actually got this shoe one size larger than I normally wear. I like to wear thick socks and this way my toes do not hit the front on the downhill. I would recommend to get at least 1\/2 size larger. The shoe is very comfortable right out of the box.

These shoes are comfortable right out of the box. I have not used them for hiking yet so I'll return later and share that experience. I usually wear a 7.5 but I purchased a size 8 and I'm glad I did. A 7.5 would have pressed my toes to the end of the shoe toe bed and that would have been bad. I think they are light weight so much so that I danced around in them, really I did. The color is fabulous. I purchased the gray and green ones. The color of the shoes are actually darker than the photo. I think these shoes feel more like sneakers that boots which is OK by me because I plan on doing light weight trail hiking. They will keep your feet and toasty and dry. I would recommend these to my friends.

I absolutely love these! Even in swampy conditions my feet stayed dry and warm. The arch support is great, and the ankle support is good considering it is just a mid.

I LOVE my new Targhee II hiking boots! I bought them to hike the volcanoes on the Big Island and they were terrific. I bought a half size larger than my regular size, which was perfect. The wide toe of this shoe was very comfortable.

Wore my boots on a trip to Chicago. Boots were warm and comfy, but eventually felt cold inside after a minor snow shower. The laces of the boots frayed after 3 weeks of constant use. Had to email the warranty dept of Keen for replacement and they mailed me one. The boots are not waterproof, but is water repellent only to a certain degree. Overall comfort is 3.5 stars. Design is 4 stars.

I read most of the reviews before I ordered and as a result, ordered a 10.5 instead of a 10. I'm glad I did, the fit is perfect. I concur with the comments about the back of the boot rubbing against your ankle. I was going to a park a fair distance away - 30 minute drive - and was wearing the boots while driving. By the time I got home, the back of my right ankle was very sore. Next time, I'm wearing comfortable shoes for the drive, and changing once I get there! Otherwise, very happy with the boot quality, fit, look. Having big feet, I'm especially enamored with shoes that make my feet look smaller and the styling in the front really is attractive. The extra protection around the toe is also excellent, since I'm one of those people who scuffs the toes of her shoes easily. I love the gray/green color combination and have gotten a lot of compliments on the styling. I agree that the boot keeps your feet pretty warm, so I'll just deal with it in the heat of the summer. All in all, a great boot that I plan to keep as long as it holds up!

Absolutely LOVE my new Keen Targhee II's!! Tried them on tonight with wool socks after receiving them today and I haven't taken them off, they're so comfortable! This is my 6th pair of Keen's; I have sandals, everyday shoes, and now boots. I have Morton's Neuroma (nerve tenderness in the toes near the ball of the foot) in both feet so I need a wider toe box in my shoes - these definitely fit the bill, as do my other Keens! Very easy to lace up and tie the laces without losing the snug tie and don't have to double tie the laces. I got the Laurel Oak/Deep Sea color, which looks slightly different in different lighting, from a light brown to a soft army green, but no problems there. Very lightweight and no ankle rub. I normally wear Size 7 1/2 to 8 (usually 8) and I got these in Size 8 - they fit great and not too small as some reviewers stated. Good medium arch support. And thank you to Zappos for getting them to me in record time, even though I chose the standard shipping!

I just walked 10 miles in these shoes yesterday and my feet don't hurt a bit. I love them. I barely even notice I'm wearing hiking boots, even though they look HUGE on my skinny legs. :P Also, they're a really pretty color (monument/iguana)!

These are the most comfortable, supportive hiking boots that have ever been on my feet! I have a wide foot and and it was suggested to go up a half size - I was hesitant because I wear a 9 - you know, the giant foot look. They look great, feel great and I wore them for 9 hours hiking 3 days in a row without any aches! Love, love, love them!!!!

I love this hiking boot. My boyfriend and I have bought these in Men’s/Women’s and they feel great. We went on a 4.5hr hike the first time we wore them and they were comfy right out of the box - no blisters or hot spots. Great shoe for the money!
