These are everything I wanted and then some! My son raves about Keen so I thought I would give them a try. Needed a pair of boots to wear for daily walking on our road--although plowed is typically covered with a small layer of snow and a bit of ice. These work great! Needed no break-in and also love them for running errands. Just great! I want them in red! Please make them in red! :-)

I love these boots. The width is adjustable through the lacing for the comfort you're looking for. They are a bit stiff and not softening up, so I gave them a 4 for comfort. I pulled the Keen insoles out and replaced them with Spencos and orthotics. Very comfortable. I'm on my feet all day indoors and out (in Michigan in the winter) and these boots fit the ticket.

Now that I've had the chance to use these Keen Targhee II Mid boots in all the types of weather we have here, I'm ready to review them. I couldn't be more pleased with these shoes! They fit right out of the box, perfectly comfortable with great arch support (I have high arches) and really good traction. I skip down our driveway (at least a 45 degree incline on the steepest part) nearly every day in these boots, and while I've slipped maybe an inch or two on a couple of occasions on the ice or mud, it was nothing I didn't recover from easily. The really good traction helped keep me vertical. Even the color worked out well for me. I was a little worried since Gargoyle looks really dark on the PC screen, but the boots weren't available in my size in the Shitake (my first choice). Turns out Gargoyle is not as dark or charcoal-like as it appears; it's really more of a grayish tan, which works great for me. I'm hoping these shoes are going to last a good long while.

The Targhee II Mid is an excellent boot from Keen! Just love these boots! Great support! I wasn't sure how warm they would keep my feet until yesterday. I shoveled the driveway when it was all of 12 degrees. My feet and toes never got cold! I purchased a pair for my hubby too, and he loves them too! If there was 6 stars I would give them that! Thank you Keen for giving me "Happy Feet"! Thank you Zappos for supplying them! Your people on the phone are so nice and helpful! Did order a half size up!

Very comfortable walking in the Ozark Mountains during Thanksgiving. Feet didn't stay quite as warm as I would like but still good. Ordered one size larger due to other reviews and they fit perfect once I used my own arch support insoles.

I love these boots. I got them for a hiking trip to the Grand Canyon and Zion. They were perfect. I tend to get blisters, especially with any kind of boot. No blisters! I just bought a second pair because I'm afraid by the time I war these out, the style will have changed. I wear these all the time for daily shoes, wet weather, cold weather. Huge fan of these boots.

I have been a Keen lover since my first pair of Newport's I bought years ago. They blew me away, I could hike on rocks and the grip was fantastic plus I could play in the creek with my dogs and they held up and held me up perfectly! Then I was given a pair of Sister MJ's from my awesome sister (funny) who didn't much care for them (whaaa?) and I wore those everywhere for years (still do). This summer while hiking the sole of my Newport's came off mid hike but even w/o the sole the dang things were still comfy so I made it home and super glued them back together and they are fine. It was my fault it happened because I used my big rubber toe on the back of the other shoe to take them off instead of leaning over and pulling them off which if you own a pair, warning, do not do this because after 9ish years they will finally come apart, hahaha! OK, so I decided after all these years to get a nice pair of hiking boots for the winter hikes (I have used a pair of hand me downs from the same sister (yes folks she rocks)) and I knew that the only boot to look at was a pair of Keen's! Of all the choices (I want them all) I went with the Targhee II Mid in the gargoyle/jade color. I read the comments other nice people had posted and ordered a 1/2 size up. When they arrived I didn't hesitate. I put them on and my dog and I headed to the woods. THEY WERE PERFECT! I felt like I could have hiked all day on the first day of owning them! No soreness, blisters or anything bad. All good vibes w these boots! So there it is, these boots are a wonderful investment in happiness and I hope it helps you with your decision.

These hiking boots are light and comfortable. I have a narrow foot, and I have no problems with the fit of this boot. They run small in length, so be sure to order 1/2 size up. Thankfully, I read some reviews on this that made me aware of the sizing before I ordered mine. They appear to be well-made. The toe protection is ideal for hiking in mountain terrain where there are a lot of rocks. The ankle protection is another plus. I recommend these for the casual hiker.

I wear these boots everyday to work, and let me just say, they are awesome. Right out of the box they required no break-in time. They are so comfortable, it makes me consider wearing them all the time. They are very sturdy, easy to tie tightly, and great for outdoors work, walking, and hiking. I primarily use them in a desert environment, and they work well for me. They are also more fashionable than many hiking boots that you will find out there. I got them in the olive/dark spruce color, and love the color scheme. I would highly recommend these boots and will be adding them to my list of favorites to purchase again when I need a new pair of hikers. The only thing I would say about them is that they run small; I had to order a full size larger than I normally wear, but once I found the proper size, they fit perfectly!

My husband and I have begun walking together. Well, being military, he "rucks," I walk. We anticipate these turning into true hikes over time, and I have an old ankle injury. My first walk with him proved I needed new footwear, which led me to buy these Keens. Per the advice of other reviewers, I bought a half-size up. Received them Thursday and wore them around the house to check the fit. I wore them this morning (Saturday) and brand-spanking-new - for 6 miles at a 15 min/mi pace. I have NO blisters or hot spots; my ankle feels great. I LOVE these boots!

Great boot! Waterproof and no break-in needed...wore them right out of the box on a short hike and hey were awesome. I have a wide foot and these are perfect. Plenty of room to even wear with a heavy pair of socks. Would highly recommend.

I bought these boots just before walking the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage, from Leon to Santiago---300 miles! They were super comfortable right out of the box, and I only had one blister. They were also quite waterproof even when I walked 3 hours in pouring rain. Lots of toe room, and very comfortable.

Really comfortable on the foot. They are rather heavy though, so don't plan on going on too long of a trek. I often have to buy a size 10 in boots but these I probably could've gone with a 9.5.

I have recently re-taken up hiking after many years hiatus. I have mostly been doing flat land power walks with my Vasque Velocity trail runners. LOVE THEM! But needed something with ankle support and some water resistance for possibly muddy and partially snowy trails in the high elevations above where I live in Northern California. I read numerous reviews before deciding on these Keen boots. Took them out of the box and went on a pretty intense 12 mile round trip, 2200 ft.gain hike the next day. Went to 9000 ft. through quite a bit of snow during the last mile up. I did order 1/2 size larger than I normally do and that was a perfect choice for me. I had absolutely no rub spots, no foot problems at all. I love them and will be wearing them for all my more intense hikes for years to come!

These are great shoes. I wore them to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro and they worked perfect. Excellent water proofing (though it was more dusty that wet) and great support. I did not get a single blister. I wore them with a good pair of wool hiking sock and liners for the summit and my feet stayed warm and dry. The only negative is that the shoe laces are incredibly long and don't stay tied (don't 'grip' to themselves). I had to double knot them to take out length and secure them. My sister has the same boot and had the same complaint. Also, the side hooks are plastic. They haven't broken and work fine, but I would think for quality and look Keens would make them metal.

I have been wearing bad shoes all summer and my feet hurt. It was time for some relief. These Keens have fit the bill for me. Sturdy, supportive, easy to get in and out of, and quite cool looking, if I might add. I was concerned about the high fit, having had trouble with ankle blisters in the past, but these work fine. I like the thingies that hold the laces secure up top.

I am a barefoot/flip flop kind of person. I needed some boots to go hiking with my boyfriend on vacation. Any boots I've tried on bother me around the ankle. I wore these one time before the trip and walked about 1/2 mile. These are so comfortable and no break-in period needed. I have even worn them to work now. Support and comfort is amazing and I've had people compliment me on how "cute" they are. LOVE them!

I bought a pair of the same boots just a different color a year ago. They fit perfect. This time they were a half size too small.

I love these boots!! Just took them out to the Canadian Rockies (Banff National Park) and went on a 35 mile backpacking trip. They were great on major ascents as well as descents and they were good in scree and rock and in muddy areas. I never once got any hot-spots and my feet felt great the whole time. They felt great the second I put them on and needed no break-in time. I would highly recommend these and in fact, my husband is trying out a pair to replace his Asolos. I did order a half-size up like other reviewers said and they were perfect. I have relatively high arches and somewhat narrow feet so I usually don't like Keens, but these were amazing!

I love these boots! The blue leather kicks up the style factor, but what I really appreciate are the roomy fit and excellent support. I am a shorter distance hiker (rarely more than 5 miles), and these boots are perfect for day hikes in the mountains! I did order a half size up, based upon other customer reviews.

Excellent lightweight shoe with great stability for a mid hiking boot. Wore right out of the box for three straight days of 10-mile Mt. Hood hikes - no blisters, rubbing, etc. Even though I ordered the shoe a full size larger than my street shoes, they were barely the right size; arguably could have gone a half size above that. I followed the advice on a lightweight gear site to wear minimalist Defeet cycling socks - worked perfectly, which surprised me to no end - always thought thicker socks were supposed to be better. Seemed waterproof walking through very shallow streams. Only quibble is that laces do come untied - never was able to manipulate utterly counterintuitive sadistic "loop" thing correctly! However, I'd buy these again in a minute.

These boots are fabulous! I ordered them in blue/grey and they are beautiful! Arrived faster than I expected, and appear to be great quality hiking boots. I bought these for hiking 14ers in Colorado! I am sure they will do much better than my sneakers I have been hiking in. I ordered a half size up, and glad I did! I have just enough room for some thick hiking socks. They are a tiny bit stiff the first time you wear them so I will definitely try to break them in a bit before hiking Handies Peak next month!

Haven't hiked with these yet, but worked in the yard. They were comfortable right away and have a roomy toe area. With foot problems and needing arch support, I think these will do the trick.
