I usually buy the Finlay but I think they have discontinued them so I tried the Austin it was wider and didnot work for me.

It makes you look like you have Flintstone feet, but mother of god they are the most comfortable things I've ever put on my feet.

This is the second pair of Keen shoes that I purchased. I bought these because of the comfort of the first. I like the wide toe box, contoured arch support and snug fitting heel. My initial criticism is that the leather uppers retains more heat than the brown colored upper of the first pair.

If you have narrow feet, buy some thick sock with these Austins. The sole does wear out quicker than the leather upper. The laces were not meant for long term tuggin'. Could be me getting them tight with my narrow foot. Awesome shoe overall. Good looking enough for a casual office, but hearty enough for a long hike.

Really great shoes. I wear them daily and just love them. I did replace insoles with super feet insoles.

Keens are so dorky. When all-black, Keens are much less dorky. They may even be cool. I think they are cool. Cool-dorky. Keens make walking and standing for 8 hours a day in a Produce Department easy. They are very wide. If you have narrow feet, expect the sizes to run big. One design flaw. As you tighten the shoe to tie it the top front of the shoe bunches. This creates the most amazing canal for water to slide neatly onto your toes. I am on my third pair.

Same generous fit. Maybe a glue issue in the toe? I bought a pair of Keen Austins years ago, for the fashion and fit. I wear 11.5 4EEEE, and there weren't many stylish options. The Austin's footlast is boxy in the toes, so when I size up, the fit is generous and comfortable. Fast forward to my last repurchase, and not much has changed. Which is exactly what I was looking for. After a few weeks of wear (10k steps daily, with 20k weekend days), there is a white residue line behind where the toe cap is glued. Maybe it's just breaking in. Maybe the glue is coming apart. I'll keep an eye on it.

These are very comfortable. I have foot pain from plantar fasciitis and plantar plate tear 2nd metatarsal in both feet. Give these a try. Very roomy in width and in the toe area. My only problem with these is the tongue presses against the top of my foot. I may return these for that reason alone. I'm hoping the tongue will break in because I'd rather keep them. The arch contours are very good for me. I was hoping these felt like my Keen sandals arch support-wise, and they do! Very happy with them expect for the tongue pressure point.

These shoes look and feel great, except for the tongue where its edge touches my ankle; it hurts somewhat there (I have bony feet) so I put a piece of foam with double stick tape around the edge of the tongue; somewhat mitigated the problem. I sometime wear size 9½; chose 10 on this one due to heavy socks I wear; nice fit.

I was excited to receive these shoes, but when they arrived I knew pretty much right away by looking at them that they weren't going to work. Two things: they're so wide in the front my foot is swimming in them. My foot is a bit narrower than average, and with these shoes being quite a bit wider than average it was not a fit. Secondly is that they don't look the same as in the picture. In the picture there's a brown strip that runs through the lace eyelets, and a secondary beige color in the background. The shoes that arrived had the same brown strip through the lace eyelets, but he background material was brown as well. So instead of getting that nice contrast between the two colors, the shoe just looks like a brown shoe.

These are great looking shoes but they were too big width wise. The other pair of Keens that we purchased in the same size fit much better. I bought them for my husband.

First day in: These shoes seem well made and sturdy, with a comfortable footbed, and seem to breathe well so far -- my feet are warm, and no perspiration. The collar or neck at the top of the upper feels a bit hard and uncomfortable, especially at the front, but I imagine this sensation will fade. I can see why some wider-footed reviewers are happy with these shoes -- they are certainly the widest D-width shoes I've ever worn, a bit too wide for me. And at size 9.5, they also feel a tad long. I generally wear 9.5 - 10. Hoping that thick socks will take care of this. As for their look, I'm afraid they fall in the Highly Effective Birth Control category, but I plan to wear them only for pedestrian commuting in bad weather, when wealthy heiresses are not likely to be out and about.

Great shoe. Have been wearing them for a couple years as a casual walk-around shoe. Have to agree with most of the positive reviews....they're great out of the box, and fit a wide foot comfortably. Downside - the durability issue previously noted is a fact. The leather and sole on my recent pairs deteriorates far faster then in pairs past. That doesn't stop me from buying them, though. I can still get a lot of wear out of them before that happens. Have fun out there.

I bought these as a potential shoe to wear while venturing out on a Round-The-World (RTW) trip. I needed something that was fashionable, discreet, comfortable, lightweight, and would hold up over time and against the elements. While I wanted to like them, I simply could not get over how bulky they were. It was as if I was wearing an old school jazz dance sneaker. Also the fact that Keen's production quality has gone down (by gluing on the sole instead of double-stitching) worried me. Great for someone who needs a basic comfortable shoe though.

Solid shoe with a ton of room in the toe box. Runs large, esp vs earlier Austins, and it quite stiff on first wearing, but breaks in nicely.

Great look and feel to this shoe. However, the side hit my ankle at just the wrong spot and I wasn't sure it would "stretch out" enough to be comfortable. Unfortunately had to return.

Durable shoes! My fourth pair of Keen's. The toe box on the right food has a piece of rubber that rubs into my big toe. I can live with it but this pair does not fit as well as my previous pairs. I should have worn them inside only for a while and then returned them for another pair. Hindsight. Not fair to ask about the arch support because I put Superfeet inserts into all my shoes. Deliver is wonderful.

I love these shoes, and am on pair #3. That said, I've had to take every pair I've bought to the local shoe repair guy around the third month of wearing them to have the rubber sole glued back onto the shoe. It's not an expensive fix, but it's a little frustrating. Keen: You make a beautiful shoe. Please use a glue worthy of it.

Good shoe...comfortable. I have had them for about nine months now and they are holding up well. I don't wear them every day as I switch them off with a pair of Merrells but I do like them for the comfort and traction. They are worth the money.

I have trouble with my feet because of a toe injury several years ago and these shoes have been amazing for me. Would highly recommend them!

My boyfriend likes these, and they are reasonably attractive. He hates boots. These are nearly waterproof and the closest to boots I can get him to wear.

Not What They Used to Be: Quality of Keen's has gone down, the uppers separate from the sole, and worst, they have become narrower, with less toe room, and the heel is shorter.

There is separation where the soles meet the leather on the sides of the shoe. These have not worn well at all

Great shoes, very comfortable, but seem to run a little big. I have a heel slipping so I added a cushion, much better. Overall, highly recommend but suggest trying on several sizes before purchasing.

I just got my replacement Keen's as the first pair had defective glue and the sole split from the shoe about 1" to 1 1/2" inch by the big toes. I am hoping this first pair was a random defect, but I am unsure based on some reviews. I found they fit just right and the big box toe is comfortable. They broke-in in less than a day on the original pair and they felt great on my feet. I sure hope that these shoes do not carry the same defect as before. Kevin was very helpful when I called about the issue and I can't wait to start wearing the new shoes tomorrow.
