I have wide feet and the Austin fits me. Got a pair that chafed me, sent it back, got a new pair which are great. No problems, no questions asked. Hard to hate this company. Easy to love them.

I wear a size 9 and that is what I ordered. When I tried them on they felt a little tight but comfortable. I believe they will be perfect once they are broken in.

Received these shoes from Zappos about 3 weeks ago, have been wearing them every day to work (as a locksmith I spend most of my time on my feet) and I couldn't be more pleased. They look great, they are truly some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn (that was my main goal) and they seem to be holding up just fine (though it's only been 3 weeks). No squeaking, no white ooze, no falling apart. I own a pair of Keen Bronx Mesh shoes. Bought them 11 years ago. They literally went through Hurricane Katrina, after which I cleaned them up and kept wearing them. Though they're looking pretty ragged, I still wear those shoes a lot. They are the reason I bought the Keen Austin. It was the closest available match. I almost didn't buy them because of the few negative reviews I read. I'd advise ignoring them. These are my 4th pair of Keens and they continue to be my favorite brand of shoe. The first day I wore my Austins I had a coworker ask me where I got my shoes. He's the type of guy who you'd think pays no attention to other men's clothes (loves Rush Limbaugh, etc, etc.) I think he asked because they're perfect shoes for locksmiths. (Don't ask me to explain that comment, but it's true. They're perfect shoes for locksmiths.) A few days later I made a comment to another coworker, our receptionist/accountant, about having walked my "arse" off on that particular day. Showing no sympathy (she sits in air conditioning all day), she says, "So. You're wearing those comfortable shoes. You'll be fine." So another coworker noticed my Austins. And she was right, they are comfortable. There was no breaking in period. I started wearing them to work the day after I received them and I didn't have any negative issues with them at all. They stayed comfortable all day. Because my job can get dirty sometimes (a lot of hole sawing and key cutting) I've been using a shoe brush to clean them off after work. An easy clean, and they still look new. Except for some of the trim, most of the shoe is a type of suede, so I'd recommend keeping some suede cleaner on hand. I have something called Lincoln E-Z Cleaner, which I already had on hand. Haven't had to use it yet, but the time will come. So, yes, I highly recommend the Keen Austins. And I have no ties to Keen, Zappos, or anyone in the shoe business. I just like these shoes and want to share my experience. I will say that I emailed Keen about issues I read in a few comments regarding these shoes, namely the squeaking and the durability. They responded quickly and thoroughly. They are an environmentally conscious company and try to use materials and processes that are environmentally friendly. I really felt that their response was BS free, which is pretty good considering our world is about 95% BS. The guy who responded to my email said he happens to own 2 pair of Keen Austin, and because of the details he gave me, I believe he was telling me the truth. Just the fact that a human being actually responded to my questions promptly and thoroughly says a lot. There wasn't much he could say about the negative comments, though if the shoe is worn for, say, rock climbing, it might not hold up for as long as you'd like. I wouldn't recommend it for a jogging shoe either. But for a comfortable, casual, everyday shoe, the Austin Keens can't be beat. This is a purchase I'm very glad I made. And they're cool looking. Unique, but not freaky unique. Enough.

It's my pleasure to offer a review of the Austin shoe. Most comfortable shoe, ever. Big toe box for wiggle. Great support. I'm hoping for a sale and will buy more.

I like the shoe for comfort. It feels very wide at the toe but overall it's a great shoe. I will buy more Keen in the future.

Went to my doc with foot pains. He told me it was my pointy toed shoes. "Get some clown shoes like mine." He told me they were Keens. Went home and ordered a pair of Austins. Two weeks later, I ordered the 2nd pair. Any questions about my liking them?

A solidly made shoe. Roomy. I work at a standing desk in these shoes and they're comfortable for many hours of standing. I replaced the liners with SuperFeet and it only made a minor difference (the liners are better than I thought they were).

Husband loves these shoes! He has wide feet, and these are always his go to shoes. Great balance between casual and dressy.

I bought this shoe because I was getting sore, tired feet. I read reviews and saw that these would be good walking shoes, especially in a more urban environment. They seem to be working well. Pros: Nice wide toe box good styling Look decent with shorts and jeans Cons: Can hear squeaking when you walk in a quiet area

I love these Keen Austin light hikers as I'm a big Keen footwear fan. My feet always feel comfortable and don't tire when I wear their footwear. Nice simple design and well constructed.

They have an odor that bothers me, only these, because I have 3 more pairs sandals, hiking, etc. and don't have this problem with them. Too bad because I really like them.

I have bought this same style of shoe three times since 2009. If they ever stop making them, I will be very sad indeed. Comfortable for walking all of the city on vacation and nice enough looking to wear to work. I love this shoe!

Great shoes. First pair I got were defective, but of course Zappos took care of that. Nice and comfortable.

I bought these for my husband for Christmas and he loves them! They look awesome too - but the quality is visible and he said they are super comfortable too.

Love these shoes. High quality, comfortable. I got the gargoyle color. Don't let the picture fool you. These are charcoal gray. I would recommend getting a full size smaller than you normally wear. Another winner from Keen!

These are great shoes. They run true to size. Perhaps a little wider than normal at the ball of the foot but Keen tends to design their shoes that way. I have a pair of their sandals and they are the same way. The inner sole felt a little hard when I first wore them but they quickly became very soft and comfortable. These are my everyday casual shoes and I love them.

I bought these shoes for adventuring around Europe. I've been breaking then in, which didn't take long and they are extremely comfortable!

Do you have bad feet? Search no longer these are the ticket! Great shoe for work, walking, hikes. Not the best on slick floors FYI. Took me one day for them to break-in. It was just a little stiff around the ankle in the front. No big deal and worth it in the end.

I have been wearing a pair of Austin's in a brown nubuck for 1.5 years and my feet love them! They are a little frumpy looking and go best with jeans. My new pair are the black full grain leather. These required more break in time, but they look much dressier. The full grain leather also seems to offer more support. They are a great shoe!

Currently dealing with plantar fasciitis I ordered these shoes because my Keen sandals were the only shoes I could walk in without too much pain. Plus I noticed that walking in my Keens began to allow my feet to heal. I was hoping these shoes would provide the same comfort. I am not disappointed. Now Ecco has dropped to second as my go to shoes. Keen is number one for me. I could not be more satisfied. I marked "felt wider than marked" as a positive. I usually order EE, but rarely find them on the internet, or anywhere else, in order to get them in normal delivery time. They fit very well for me.

Zappos delivers! You place your order and it is on your door step in 2 days, and if it doesn't please you send it back and shipping is free both ways...got to love that. I have placed many Keen orders via Zappos and have never been disappointed. I only wear Keen's as the toe box is wide to help with my custom orthotics.

I have a wide foot (bunion), these shoes were perfect. I actually ordered 1 size smaller than my regular shoe size due to the extra large toe box. These shoes are extremely comfortable, suitable for work or casual, and are rugged enough to last about 10 years. Highly recommended! Customer Service was absolutely legendary.

My second pair of these. The first lasted several years, and I came back to them because they are probably the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. They seem to be running large now, though. This time, I went down a full size from my usual in other brands to get the right fit.

I love these shoes so much that I just bought a second pair. They're supportive around the mid-foot but there is loads of room for the toes. They feel solid and after a month of wear, they still look and feel great.

My husband loves these shoes and he will not wear other brand. HE literally "destroys" shoes, these are the only ones that are comfortable, stylish and last longer!
