I highly recommend these boots. You see, I bought this same pair in 1977. I wore them all through college and had the soles replaced. Luckily I could never get rid of them because they are the very best boots. I started wearing them again last year and got so many compliments from my (very young) co-workers. I explained that yes, they were Frye boots - vintage!

These are the best boots ever. I do have wide feet at the ball so they are a little snug but are breaking in nicely. Perfect over skinny jeans. Love.

Gorgeous boot! I was so bummed to have to send it back. I am almost always a size 8, so that is what I ordered. The shaft was snug on my calf which I was okay with, but the foot area was too big and unwelcoming. It could not compare to the comfort of my Timberlands. It really is a beautiful boot - the leather, the stitching - but the fit just didn't work for me. Thanks for being so understanding, Zappos.

I love these boots. I bought them to become my new staple brown boots and I couldn't be happier. They fit perfectly right out of the box, no break-in period -- and they arrived the very next day after I ordered them! One thing to keep in mind is that the leg shaft is a bit narrow -- not a fit problem for me but I can see how it could be for those with curvier legs. Overall I'm wild about this awesome stylish boot.

Love these boots! I wear it with sundresses, leg-ins, and jeans. I order a 9.5 because I couldn't fit my foot down in a 9. The best thing about these boots is they get better with age! You cannot bet Zappos customer service either they are amazing!

I love these boots. I'm normally a 9 or 9 1/2, but I went with the 9 just in case there's a little bit of stretch. They're wonderfully comfortable, and after one day already starting to break in! I live in northern New Hampshire, and we still have quite a bit of snow. They're not too slippery but I think I'm going to get a bit of grip and some taps to the front of the toe and heel. The shaft fits really close to my leg - enough room to tuck in my skinny jeans, but not so much that there's a huge gap. They're surprisingly flattering on the leg.

I love this style. Really nice detail on the boot shaft. I'm partial to the Campus boot because it's so comfortable. I bought a half size down and they fit great. Able to tuck in my skinny jeans with a bit of room to spare. Would love to see this style in more colors. Thanks so much for the very fast shipping.

I love these boots. They fit perfectly, I ordered my actual size. Every time I wear these boots, I get compliments. Zappos was also excellent to deal with. You cannot go wrong with these boots!

I looked at boots online for quite a while before I decided on these. I found myself coming back to them because they were so attractive and came in my size (5½). I finally decided to give them a try because of Zappos incredible free shipping policy. They are gorgeous! I am not a shoe person - I want to be comfortable and look nice, but otherwise shoes are just utilitarian. If you can fall in love with a pair of boots these are the ones. They are sturdy and beautiful. The stitching is interesting without being too Western; and the best part, they are incredibly comfortable. I tried them around the house a few times, thinking they would need a breaking-in period. Then, the first time I wore them I went shopping and walked all around the mall for hours. The next day I wore them all day again. They are almost perfect! My only complaint is that the soles are very slick and keep sliding off the gas pedal. I don't care, I love them.

I've been wanting these boots for some time now, but the price tag - and the comments about the narrow boot shaft - kept me from purchasing them. However, I gave them a shot knowing that Zappos will take them back and pay for return shipping. Anyway, the boots are fabulous. The leather is high quality and they are super comfortable. They are the perfect boot - not too low or high of a heel. Great with jeans or skirts. And, they should last about 15-20 years or even more! Furthermore, I found that my not-so-skinny calves (15 inches in circumference) fit into them; however, tucking jeans into them did require some effort. Also, I'll need to have a something placed on the soles (rubber maybe?) to protect the leather - the rain in the Seattle area will ruin them otherwise. Bite the bullet and get these boots. You will treasure them always.

These boots arrived in two days, used your sizing chart and they fit perfectly (same size I always wear). Very comfortable and beautifully made!

I'm so glad that I finally decided to grit my teeth and buy a pair of Frye boots. I've lusted after this brand for years, but the price had always discouraged me from the purchase. Let me tell you - they're worth every penny! The leather is the best quality by far of all the shoes I've owned. The soles are luxuriously comfortable. And with all the snow we've been having my feet have been very dry and warm in whatever terrain I wear them. I'm in love and have decided to establish a committed and faithful relationship with this brand. From now on, Frye boots will be the only boots on my feet.

Gorgeous boots. I wear a 5 1/2 in boots, and these are true to size; instep is a bit snug but should stretch with wear. Alas, I could not pull them up over my almost 15 1/2inch calves. Took them to a cobbler, who said, wow great boots! He stretched them as much as he felt he could do safely and they still didn't fit. So I made the hard decision to have elastic gussets put in them and am waiting on them in the mail. I hope their gorgeous look isn't ruined. From trying them on though they seem like they will be a favorite of mine (if the elastic works!).

My obsessions! Adore these boots! Been wanting these Fryes for years now. My physical stats: I'm 5'8", size 6 pants, 10.5 in shoe size, wider foot (which doesn't exist), curvy through the legs so it can be a challenge finding flattering boots to wear with jeans tucked in. I need a low heel because my boyfriend is shorter than I am. What I was looking for: A versatile boot to wear tucked into skinny jeans, leggings and with dresses. I really wanted a pair of the shorter ankle booties I see all the girls wearing with leggings but let's face it, not so flattering on curvy legged girls. Why they work: First off, they fit my hard to fit feet perfectly. Easily my favorite shoes in my entire closet and my most comfy. These boots are very straight through the ankle creating a silhouette with an elongated illusion. It creates the illusion of having a straight line from your knee through the ankle, which is very flattering. I feel like I drop 5 lbs. when I put these on. They make my legs look awesome and they are my problem area. I would wear these to sleep in if I could. I have never found a pair of boots that I can wear my jeans tucked into that are this flattering (on me, as we all know it's on a per person basis). Zero blisters so far. They have only been 100% comfortable for me, which I don't think I can say I've experienced with any other shoe. I wear the Walnut color boots with denim, and black pants. I've never bought a pair of shoes that cost this much before, but after feeling the difference in quality after a lifetime of pain in cheaper shoes, I am dying to fork over more money so I can feel and look this great every day. It is worth it! Cannot wait to decide which boots I'm getting in black!

Hi - Great boots. Bought them to attend the bull riding contest in NYC, so I could look like a cowgirl and it did the trick. They are awesome and go w/everything.

Greatest boots ever! I LOVE these boots. I am a size 7.5, and ordered a size 7, thinking they would run a half a size too large, but they were actually way too small, and they wouldn’t fit over my calf (which is not that large) I ended up with half a size larger than I normally am, an 8, and they fit perfectly. Careful though, they are extremely slippery when you first put them on!

Frye Campus Stitching Horse - Super cool boots!!! I love them with jeans tucked in them or jeans over them. Cool retro style, comfort. Unique color, great with browns, tans, whatever. I'll be wearing these bad boys a long time!!!

Good for skinny legs- I love these boots- I had a pair just like them in the 70s. The heel is very wide and I have narrow heels so I had to put some moleskin in there to keep it from slipping. They are still a bit loose but surprisingly comfortable. And this style vs. the shorter campus boot is better for thinner legs because I looked like Olive Oil in the shorter style.

A Classic. I love these boots! I purchased them in the classic banana color and they are beautiful. The first day I got them, I put them on and trekked all over NYC. At the end of the day my feet felt great and the boots were already beginning to get broken in with some nice creases and slouching around the ankle.

Great boots - I have tried the campus boots in other colors and when I wore them over jeans I felt like they were fishing boots...these in blue, looked AWESOME with jeans, and with skirt too! The stitching is just enough detail to be stylish, and they are extremely comfortable, a tad heavy, but great for Midwestern fall and winter weather. I love them. My last pair of Frye's lasted 15 years.

Great Boots! These boots are so much better than expected. They are beuatifully crafted, very comfortable. After reading the reviews for the other Frye styles, I decided to order 1/2 size down, and am glad I did.

Truly, these boots are beautiful. I thought long and hard about ordering them, because they are pricey. They came today, and I'm sad to say they are going back to Zappos...the calves are far too tight. I don't even have large calves! However, they fit like a dream everywhere else, they definitely run true to size, and the leather, color, and stitching are gorgeous. Think I'm going to take a chance on a different pair of Frye boots.

Love! I get compliments every time I wear them. So comfy and they go with everything -- or at least I pretend they do! A bit heavy, but worth it.

Just as pictured - Straight shaft, just as pictured. Initially I wanted to return because they were so loose in the ankle, but I ended up keeping them. They just feel and look so good. The leather is amazing.
