The first thing I noticed was that these Vans were incredibly tight. So tight that, even without socks, I had to use a shoehorn to wedge them onto my feet. I'm an 11.5 in nearly every brand, from Adidas sneakers to Ecco wingtips, so that was a bad sign. The second thing I noticed was the fabric/elastic bands stitched onto the tongue. I noticed them because their unfinished edges were thick and rough enough to painfully scratch my feet on every step. Thinking Vans just run small I exchanged them for the next size up, and had the exact same problems. It's a shame the build quality is so terrible. These are very nice-looking shoes, but I'd rather go barefoot than spend a day in them.

This was a gift for my step-daughter and the 2nd pair shipped to me and the color is off. The shoes are not actually white, they are a pale yellow. Going to exchange them for a different color.

It was very hard to get my foot in this shoe and I had about an inch of space from my toes when I did finally get it on. Not to mention the heel on one of the shoes was uneven.

I bought True White Classic Slip-On's in a size 6. I was given washing instructions by customer service. I was told to dry them in the dryer as the white would show the water lines when they dried. When I dried them in the dryer they shruk at least a half size. As a result they are way to short. I have a pair of Black silp-ons that are a size 6 1/2 and they are too big, so I dried them in the dryer to try to shrink them and they did not shrink at all. I would buy at least 1/2 shoe size up when buying a white or true white slip-on that you plan on drying in the dryer.

Vans quality used to be great. I remember a time when they outlasted their competitors, however today they aren't worth the higher cost. When I opened the Vans shoebox, I noticed right away that the quality in canvas was not great. Two days after wearing them the right shoe's rubber began to pull away from the rubber. After a few weeks of wearing them the gap has become huge and now the other shoe is separating. I don't wear these shoes hard. I don't do a lot of walking in them (they are still very white). It's unfortunate that I spent this much money on shoes that started falling apart in two days. I am going to try glue for now...

I just want to say that I could not be happier with your customer service and attention to detail. This was my 1st time shopping with you, and I highly recommend you to all that I come in contact with. I couldn't find these shoes anywhere in my local mall, but you guys had what I needed. My neighbor told me about your company, and I'm so glad that I gave you a try. I had to return the 1st 2 pairs of shoes for my kids because they were too big. Zappos was so kind to me on the phone, and I had replacement pairs in no time! Your customer service employees were great! I wish that had their names so I could sing their praises. I have been in customer service in the banking industry for 22 years and am very impressed. You guys rock!

Van's slip-ons fell apart in one week - I am very disappointed in this pair of shoes. We have been purchasing this exact shoe (Van's classic slip-ons) for years. This pair cracked at the flex line on the side after only one week of wear. For $50 a pair these shoes should last more then a week!

I purchased these as a sockless beach/kayaking/boating shoe. The fit and comfort is excellent, especially the padded rim around the ankle. The style is classic beach. Con: There is a lining in the inside front of the shoe that during my second wearing completely unraveled in one shoe. This was very annoying as the treads tangled around and between my toes. Since the shoe can’t be unlaced I have not been able to get anything in to trim the threads out. My memories of Vans were of better durability. I will not be purchasing them again.
