I love the look of the shoes. However, one of the shoes started falling apart almost immediately upon wearing them. The sole is not glued to the outside of the shoe in a large section. The outer rubber that goes along the front and wraps around the side started peeling off. I tried gluing them back in place myself, but that only lasted a couple of days before the peeling started again. It's really frustrating because I love the look of the shoes and have owned Vans a bunch in the past. I may have gotten a bad batch, but it makes it no less annoying.

Disappointed. Got a little bit of dirt on these, so I decided to clean them. Used a little bit of water and soap and the cream colored area turned white.

I've been wearing the same model of Vans shoes for 12 years now, (usually I buy a new pair every year and a half) but there was something wrong with this pair. They both felt too small, and one of them had a stray piece of rubber in one of the toes that I couldn't remove that rubbed my foot and kept giving me blisters. Unfortunately I was in the middle of moving when I received the shoes and misplaced the box so I can't return them, but they are unwearable. My conclusion from this experience is that even when you've been wearing the same size and make of a shoe for years you still never know what you will get.

Checkerboard black are defective. I've purchased 4 pairs of these and for each pair the sole starts to separate from the shoe within days. I've owned literally dozens of pairs of slides over 20 years - this is the only colorway that has this issue, but it is consistent.

I usually buy Keds, but thought I'd try Vans. I took the original advise of reviewers and ordered 1/2 size smaller. They didn't fit correctly, so ordered my size. Unfortunately these don't fit either, and it might be because they are unisex. The top of the shoe comes up too high on my foot and where the 'white elastic' on each side is located is uncomfortable as well; both rubbed me raw. I'll stick with my Keds!

These shoes look great in pants or skirts but the build quality is really quite crappy. Within a couple of months the fabric liner insoles of the shoes peeled up from the toes toward the heel. I just ripped it out the left side because it was so annoying to have the fabric bunched up inside of my heel. As well, where your toes bends when you walk, the rubber meets the canvas on the shoe has separated. I have had them for about a year now, and the deterioration seems to have stabilized after all that happened immediately, but it just feels like a cheap shoe. The soles are mashed out as well. I will try the other Vans slip-on classic (not Core) and see if they are a thicker, better quality. It's a shame, because it's a stylish shoe and there aren't many options for casual shoes for women that are sneaks and I can't stand Toms.

Seriously regret buying these. Extremely uncomfortable and painful shoes. The material on the underside of the tongue cuts into the top of my foot like a razor blade. After a while the back of the shoe starts to rub into the back of my foot even with socks. I've worn this style by other manufacturers without these problems. This is my last pair of Vans.

Wearing these shoes for the first time and they are really not very comfortable. I am hoping that they break in, although I don't know if I will even be able to wear them long enough to get them past the break in period. They rub on the inside of my foot and back by the heel in such a way that if I were to wear them for long periods of walking I could see blisters developing very quickly. And I am wearing socks! I bought these to wear barefoot or with low profile socks, but I don't think that will ever be possible. I wish I could return them, but since I have already worn them I guess I may just give them away. Definitely not what I was expecting given the long standing reputation of Vans as being super comfortable.

Like wearing a big concrete box on your foot. Very heavy. Not for me...sent it back. Made my foot look awful. Instep very high. No way...back it went.

Nope. I tried them knowing it was a risk. Unless your feet are rectangular in shape, these probably won't work for you. I could have maybe made them work because, hey, they're Vans and inherently cool, but the right shoe had a weird lump of stitching on the inside arch-- one day of that and I would have been left with a bloody right dog. No thanks. Am back to looking at less cool, but oh-so-comfy Skechers slip-ons. I tried, Vans, really, I tried...would it hurt you to go ahead and design a shoe for gals? Unisex sizing, while progressive and appealing, doesn't respect the feminine foot so much.

This was my first pair of Vans Slip-On sneakers. I found them very uncomfortable when first wearing them and slightly uncomfortable afterwards. This is mainly due to the fact that they tend to really rub against the back heel. I have owned Vans Authentics before which did not seem to have this problem - probably because you can tighten them with lacing. Overall, I regret buying these shoes.

Torture devices. Raw heels, toes - in a shoe that isn't to be worn wearing socks. Lining is rough. First Vans purchase - so disappointed. Order up a half size if you insist on buying.

I will start by saying, I'm 42, and a life-long Vans customer. Unfortunately, Vans just aren't what they used to be. They fall apart very quickly. It has been my experience with the last 4 pair of vans I have ordered, that the side strapping that holds the rubber sole on, delaminates within 3 months. These slip-ins haven't done that yet, as they are more narrowvrhannother vans and run a blister on my heel, so I don't wear them. Vans used to mean quality. I have had good luck with the pro series Sk8-hi. I guess if you don't want them to fall off of your feet you have to spend the $90 for the "pro-series". Pft. Looks like it may be time after all these years to try another brand of shoe for daily wear. :-(

I've been wearing size 10 Vans slip-ons almost exclusively for about 15 years now and I gotta say that they just don't make 'em like they used to. They don't seem to fit as well anymore and they fall apart a lot quicker. A pair used to last me about 6-8 months and now it's about half that. The way they fit is inconsistent as well, they are either a little too loose, or a little too tight.

Quality of these shoes has really deteriorated. After only a couple hours of wear, the fabric liner started coming loose inside one shoe. It was loose and crumpling up under my toes and heels as if it was poorly glued to the sole. I contacted Zappos and they immediately sent a replacement pair. Not a moment longer than the first pair lasted, the same issue appeared on the replacements! I guess Vans quality isn't what it was a few years ago. Praise Zappos for taking care of me though.

My son was so excited to get these cool skate shoes. But even though they are plenty big enough, after wearing briefly one time, he developed a painful blister on the back of his heel/ankle. Along the opening/top of the shoes there is a thick, stiff lining that is really uncomfortable and rubs in the back. He refuses to wear them now, such a shame because the style is really great.

They look nice, but the shoes have major comfort issues. First, they run a full size too small. I'm normally a 13, but needed to exchange these for a 14. There's no real padding to speak of on the shoes, so when you're walking, your heel hits the ground hard - for me, this very quickly starts to hurt every time I take a step. Insoles will probably correct this, but I'm pretty disappointed with the comfort level of these shoes.

I used to have multiple colors of these and I like the look. But my feet used to hurt a lot and usually I will have an ache or pain, so I suspected it was just normal, until I bought other shoes, and realized these have no arch support at all. I guess that is what you can expect from cheap shoes though. I do not have flat feet or high arches, so something must be wrong I got bored of them because everyone has them now, and they are kind of plain looking now that I think about it. Not to mention the fact that they fall apart in a season of regular wearing, they get ugly and faded by the tiniest bit of use, I think that I am done with these shoes.

Ya these pretty much suck. I bought them because I wanted a shoe that looked good but didn't require socks, however its been well over a month now and my heels are still getting tore up every time. The rubber is already falling off where the shoe bends during step, but they are made in China, so go figure. I was also disappointed that these didn't have the black waffle soles, but that's my bad, I should have researched. Overall Vans is straight up ripping us off, and I wouldn't ever pay this price for these shoes ever again, not even for a less amount considering how badly they tear up my heels. It is caused by the canvas seams directly below the pleather lining, and it is just a flat out bad design. These shoes are straight up deceiving and I believe that is the overall impression I have of the Vans corp. riding the wave of the skateboard industry blow up, though their products are the worst thing you could ever skate in.

So poorly made, but pretty. Within a week these shoes will begin to peel apart as the canvas comes unglued from the sole and the rubber strip around the sole begins to separate. But this is my fourth pair and I keep buying them because they're so gosh-darn simple and cute.

These Vans were too tight! Normally I never have issues with the slip ons being true to size, maybe that’s why they were discounted lol. If you order these, size up. I returned them.
