I got these instead of the similar Sperrys that I got last year. They look great, but have no arch. I soon had excruciating pain in my foot and lower leg. I'm trying an orthotic insert, which seems to be helping. The Sperrys are way more comfortable. Also, I had to return the first pair as they were a half size too small.

I ordered two of these shoes for two different members of my household. I even ordered half a size up for one. These were too small (couldn't get foot into the shoe). Order a size or size and a half up.

A bit sharp in the heel (partly because of the hard material, partly lack of padding, partly shape of shoe) and a very thin toe box so that I felt constant pressure on the tops of my toes prevented me from finally going with this shoe. It seems well made and looks great, but buying a shoe for the way it looks is a mistake. Only buy this if you have very flat toes and a tough Achilles tendon.

These shoes are okay. Really easy to slip on and off and they're really comfortable. Unfortunately, the rubber started peeling within a few months and now a year later I'm already looking to replace them, where I was hoping they'd last at least 2-3 years. They're great casual replacements for loafers or formal dress shoes, but don't expect them to last long.

A great style for summer, but very uncomfortable without socks. After walking in the shoes for only 30 minutes, I started developing blisters near my Achilles tendon. Wearing socks would probably solve this problem, but socks, shorts, and these shoes equals fail. Additionally, the white elastic portion inside the shoe is very rough and rubs against the skin, which is very irritating. You'd think Vans would develop a comfier inside to these shoes after years of making them.

Great looking and comfortable, but my pair fell apart within a week of having them. Unfortunately.

Really good slip on shoes, but not for high arches, for the elastic tongue is too tight. Too bad!

I do love these shoes despite some shortcomings. I've had many pairs of Vans and these are about what you expect. What you don't expect is how short and narrow they are. I usually wear a 10.5 or 11 and bought these in and 11. I could barely get them on. But I eventually did and decided to keep them because the canvas will ease out, however, they aren't the most comfortable Vans I've had. Also, the rubber around the sole started to peel away after two wears. You get what you pay for and these aren't the best made shoes in the world. They do look great though, so it's a trade off. When buying, I'd recommend going a half size higher than you think you should to ensure a more comfortable fit.

OK, these shoes look awesome, especially when you rock them at the Indianapolis 500, but don't do what I did and not wear them with out socks when they came straight from the box, unless you love the pains of blisters. I am sure as I break them in and they wear a little bit, they will get more comfortable.

Great shoe for minimal use. I would not recommend this shoe for day to day use due to the lack of foot support.

My son loved the way they looked; unfortunately, after less than 6 months of occasional wear the fabric started pulling away from the rubber rim.

I love how these shoes look and feel, but they never last more than a year. I know, I shouldn't expect so much from a pair of shoes at this price, but I've owned a pair of Chucks for three years and they are just starting to fall apart.

If you order this shoe, you probably know what you're getting. A great look, a decent fit. Construction is a little sweatshop-style slapped together, but it's tolerable. What's amazing is Zappos service. I ordered these shoes (with the free shipping, mind you) in the early evening, and I was wearing them the next afternoon. Packed professionally and shipped quickly. Doesn't get much better.

My son has been wearing Vans since he was 14 and is now 34 and still loves them. These felt too big which was unusual since he got them in another color and they fit great. He is trying to teach his son to wear them.

I bought these for work (bartender) because they a.) Are breathable and b.) In all black. However I was disappointed that when I tried them on with my uniform they looked like a slipper and with very hard on my feet just while standing. Maybe if one put an arch support in them they would feel better, but I chose to return them. Also they seem to run a half size small.

Wears hard.
Only lasted eight months before the sides cracked where the top of the foot bends, which caused the fabric on top to start splitting. It seems like this was due to the VERY soft rubber bottoms, which are ok for the street but don't walk on any rocks. I recommend these for light city travel only- don't use it as your main utility shoe.

Great shoes.I have bought two or three different pairs of shoes from ZAPPOS and I love them, but, the VANS have two problems. One, the inside is coming apart a little, and I have to keep wiggling my toes to get the cloth out of my toes.
And two, a piece of the rubber at the third toe on the top for the shoe is pulled off.
I have been wearing them because these were for my wedding in las vegas so I just deal with it.
Thanks ZAPPOS.

Reaction to Vans Slip-On Classics -
Although the shoes are my usual nominal size, they are too small, even without socks. They do not have adequate sole inserts, which, worse still, are not removable, making it almost impossible to install proper orthotics. The brand tag is excessive and awkward, but can, thankfully, be cut off. I appreciate that no leather is used. I do like the overall design, particularly the classic simplicity, and lack of stripes, wings, and other extraneous ornament.

My perfect yard slippers...
You can't run in these, or expect to find a lot of walking comfort; these are 'style' and are just right for the front yard, buzzing over to the store, etc. The glue at the top of my left toe was rough, so I had to put a piece of duct tape...

Pain is beauty -
These shoes are really neat looking and I loved them, got lots of compliments on them too. The only thing is, towards the end of the day my feet were starting to hurt really bad. They don't have comfort at all. Also NO arch support. Infect I had to buy my own padding to put into them. But I guess pain is beauty!

Good little slip on shoe, just don’t expect comfort. Might as well buy some arch supports, or heel supports before you even put them on.

Van's Slip On Shoes -
I ordered these for my son. He's been wearing them for a couple of years now. He loves the way they look. My only complaint is that they seem to fall apart quickly. I've noticed on the past few pairs that the material separates from the sole within a few months.

Great look ... for the first day -
I bought these shoes for my son as an easy slip on shoe for the summer. He was very excited to get them so I let him wear them to school, since school was almost over. After a few days of wear, they looked like he had been wearing them for months. After a few weeks of wear, the rubber on the sides started to separate from the canvas. If you are buying these for the retro-style, I would suggest only wearing them for special occasions. They will not hold-up to everyday wear.

Van's Classic Slip-On -
Shoe is stylish & easy to slip on & off but has no arch support whatsoever. After 4-5 days of wearing the inner heel started wearing a sore spot on my foot.
