I bought these mostly for nostalgic reasons. I had a pair of the black and white checker/white when I was in eight grade and I loved them! Fast-forward many years (decades) later and I'm a college professor who sees many of his students wearing these now that they are back in style. So, I will say that I absolutely love the style and they make me happy when I wear them while I'm out and about with my daughter. So, how do they fit? Let me go into some detail here. First, these are narrow sneakers and I have a wide foot. Since they do not have laces, the worry that anyone with a wider foot should first have is, will my foot fit through the opening. After all, the opening is narrower than the place where the widest part of your foot will eventually reside. I have been wearing a size 13 for most of my adult life. Earlier this year I began to try a size 14 in certain shoes, and this has been very good. I had this misconception that size 14 would be much longer than size 13 (thinking it would be an inch longer since my feet are about 12 inches long and I wore a 13). It turns out I was wrong. If you look at the size chart that Zappos provides, you will not that the difference in length between a 13 and 14 is actually only 5/16 of an inch. Yes, just barely more than a quarter of an inch. What you will typically find though, is that the next size up in a pair of shoes is not only a little bit longer, but also a little bit larger in the other dimensions as well. So, when I was buying size 13 shoes, I always had to look for the wide or extra wide width in order for them to fit me, and even then they never were the best. My feet always seemed to end up wishing they had a wider platform, except in the widest of shoes. Now that I have tried size 14, the length feels fine, and the rest of the shoes have been so much better! So, I figured I would give these Vans a try. I had previously held off because they only come in medium width. They fit and they are comfy. The only bad thing, and I think this may have only been when they were brand new and they needed to be worn a bit and I had to get used to how my foot sat in them is that on the first day they rubbed the back of my heel until it hurt. I let that heal up (no pun intended) and now they feel fine when I wear them. The only thing I wish now is that Vans would make some of their more interesting colors available in a size 14 :-)

I ordered Van's core classic slip-on in black/pewter checkerboard design, Women's size 6. I have several of the Van's core classic slip-on's in size 6 already, love this style and the size 6 has always fit me perfectly. When this order arrived, I could not get my feet into the shoes. I have not gained weight at all and since all of my Van's core classic slip-ons in size 6 fit me (my most recent Vans core classic slip-on SZ 6 was just last week), I ruled that out as a contributing factor. I called customer service and was offered a return label and another pair of size 6 to be sent to me. I took the return label offer but wanted to think about what I planned to do. I was thinking that maybe the size 6 I received was just a manufacturing error in sizing. Because I like these shoes so much, I placed an order for another size 6 and a size 6.5, just in case. The new size 6, also did not fit my feet. The 6.5 was a bit too large for me, so I am returning both of the shoes from the new order and the first pair I received is being returned as well. I am disappointed witht his sizing and do feel it is a manufacturing issue. The service from Zappo's however was as expected; polite, helpful, prompt, easy, curteous, I could go on. Hoping Zappo's will evaluate if mine is an individual event or a manufacturing issue. I will still use Zappo's and wear Van's, as long as they fit.

Love these. I get inserts for all my shoes so minimal arch support doesn’t detract from rating. Same with sizing, as thick inserts solve both problems. Like Chuck Taylors, the Vans look is timeless, but I was unsure whether these would work worn w/o socks in (humid) summers, and feared that my no-longer-twentysomething feet would be a blistery smelly reminder to me why I gave up on Chucks years ago. Happily I’ve worn them everyday, rain or shine, running around or relaxing, and in addition to looking great worn with anything they are also super-comfortable.

My son usually wears a size 12, but was a little small, so exchanged for 13 & plenty of room. The sneaker is very comfy, durable, convenient, stylish & a good price! My son loves them & I too may buy a pair!

Perfect shoe and style for my son.

This is my first time buying Van’s and I love them. I bought the navy canvas and the color is true to the photo, more of a medium blue, which I like. They are stiff at first but I’ve had my for a week and they’re loosening up. I think the stiffness come from the quality and ruggedness of the materials. I ordered a 9 and they are a little long in the toes, but smaller probably would have been too narrow. I will buy another pair soon.

I love vans slip ons and have had multiple pairs throughout my life. Always a size 7.5, but the leather ones do not give at all. Couldn't even get my foot in them, I imagine if I went a size up they would rub too because they are so stiff. I want to love these so bad!

These are great shoes. I had a pair, but they were about worn out, so I ordered a new pair. They fit just as great! I would recommend these anytime. They are very comfortable!

Love these shoes! This is my 5th pair as I have worn the others completely out! This shoe can be completely casual or smart casual a little dressed up. Vans are the only sneakers I will buy!

PERFECT FIT! I am usually an 8.5/9 in women’s .. ordered a 9 & i have a little room not too snug ..

I love them just a little small but thats kinda my fault although i will say i have other vans that are also size 7 and arent small like these.(i ordered size 7in W im usually around 7,7.5,8) other than that great fit????

Excellent shoe for the money. My son loves them! Comfortable right out of the box. True to size, just as pictured. We ordered the black and white check...super cool to him.

Shoe runs small. My grandson is 13 and wears an 8 1/2-9 men’s size. He has narrow feet. The 81/2 was short but the width was good for him. He could have used a 9 but was taking them on vacation and couldn’t wait for a return/resend. He did love the shoe.

Shoes blistered my feet within minutes. Now I have a blister on my right heel and one on each of my pinky toes. Ouch! I'll be skipping Vans in the future.

I ordered these for my daughter and they fit well. They are pure white so they will get dirty 5 minutes after you wear them- that's to be expected. What I didn't expect was for them to tear up after about a month of wearing them. The quality of this particular sneaker is poor. I don't suggest them at all.

I got this as a gift for my son. He has been wearing them for years. Your customer service is so understanding and were very helpful. Love Zappos will be back.

The Core Classics Slip-ons is way better than the 59's, because your heel will not slip off like it does on the 59's. It looks great, and people notice how good it looks.
