You can't go wrong with a classic. Our whole family wears Vans.. My 11 year old wears a size 5.5. I purchased him the green and white checked ones in the Zappos kids section but could only find the gray/black checked ones in toddler size 5.5. I chatted online with the friendly Zappos agent and she helped me figure out that Vans are unisex and the men's 5.5 would fit my son. And they do. He loves them, I love them... and I love Zappos!

It feels a little tight whenever I begin to put them on but once it’s on I feel comfortable.

I have a very wide, hard to fit foot, and since Van’s are “European” sizing, they run a bit wider. This is a cute shoe and I was hoping the fit would be similar to the Van’s Perf style, but the canvas version seems to run more narrow. Still, they are stylish and the denim color goes with all my summer clothes. So, I will be keeping them and hoping they will stretch enough to be as comfortable as my Perfs!

If you have wider feet definitely order in a men size. I still had to stretch and wear them out before they fit line how I wanted them too

I normally take a 8-9 the 8.5 women's was perfect, comfortable out of the box, walking and just to have on my feet nice old time styling, ivory canvas, liked it much better than keds (returned)

it takes about a good 3 days for your foot to feel comfortable and for the shoe to stretch and get used to your foot but other than that good shoe and quality!
