I ordered the New Balance 659 country walker in a wide width. This shoe was very fairly priced, came w/free shipping, and arrived in 3 or 4 business days I believe via UPS. I have plantar fasciitis or some variation thereof. These shoes have a nice aggressive outer sole and the "wide" is honestly wide. I had gone to a high end camping store where they sell high end hiking shoes by Danner, Vasque, Montrail, Salomon, etc. but these NB 659, while not being the most attractive shoe around, are a real pleasure to walk around in for mile after mile. I came across the 659's by accident during the 2013 summer at Kohl's dept. store when they were on clearance for discontinued model or something. The store happened to have size 9w and I tried them on and was impressed & bought them. They were as good as the Danner Agitator I'd gotten long ago that were twice as expensive. Then I rushed around to other local Kohl's stores and was able to find one other pair before they had run out of my size. I wore the first pair for probably 6 months every day, using my can of Penguin shoe spray to keep them deodorized. The soles are still fairly firm & hardly worn down at the heels where I really wear shoes down. I probably walk 3 to 5 miles a day in these shoes sometimes more. Now the first pair will be used under my rain rubbers & the second is on line for everyday use. The 3rd pair is waiting in storage. I'll order another pair from Zappos most definitely.

I bought these for my husband. He has wide feet but narrow heels and he's quite heavy. He loves these shoes for walking and it's the second pair!

We ordered 4 different pairs for my husband, all 4E-extra wide size. It's impossible to find this width in stores anymore. Out of 4 pairs, this is his favorite. It is very comfortable and breathable shoes. Perfect for fall or spring. We walk 4-5 miles every day and he's never complained about this pair, unlike some others he has.

This was exactly what I need. Width was perfect. Great stability and comfort. Good style also. These will be not only my walking but everyday casual shoe. I will be buying more. Zappos great shipping. Got it 2 working days.

Another NB Winner - I've always been a fan of NB shoes due to their extended size range (I have big feet) and the MW659 does not disappoint. Looks good, very comfortable, and fit true to size...if not just slightly larger than marked.

I have used NB shoes for years, great fit for me. My feet require a wide "toe box" which this manufacturer delivers. The MW659 is my shoe of choice.

Yes these are very favorable to helping my plantar fasciitis. So much so, I can no occasionally and sparingly wear "normal" shoes. They are a little clunky for business wear, but me limping around was the alternative. These and wearing Birks indoors at home have go me just about back to "normal". It's been a long year of therapy and messing with shoes. I do use my inserts with these still.

I've been wearing these shoes for nearly a month now, with New Balance insoles, and I have nothing but great things to say for these shoes. They are comfortable, and the size seems to be just what I needed. I'm glad I tried them.

I needed some walking shoes for work and general use, these shoes were made for walking, and thats just what they do. One of these days when I wear them out I will purchase them again, they have been a great investment.

The service from Zappos was great - prompt delivery - and the shoes are excellent! I hope New Balance continues making the 659 models - they are comfortable right out of the box - no break in period needed and the price is very favorable compared to other walking shoe brands. I highly recommend them.

These shoes are great. They are very comfortable for walking around. They could be a tad wider for a 4E shoe, but overall they are very good.

I have 6 pair of NB walking shoes, all size 9.5 4E. I bought MW659 to replace a tired old model, hoping for the same comfortable fit. These have worked out very well - toe box wide enough, good length and heel fit. Lacing is weird (all laces pass through little individual loops on the tongue, which caused the tongue to bunch). I re-laced to eliminate all but one tongue loop at the halfway point, and all is OK. I'm happy - sturdy and comfortable, with solid open tread. Much more comfortable than MW759, which was too narrow across toe box.

Great shoes! Really comfortable. I now have a commanding lead. I am the envy of my peer group. I stand on the shoulders of giants.

These seem great, but are larger than I expected. I wear 8.5 women's, but ordered size 8 in men's thinking that it would allow for socks. However, it seems that I should have ordered 7 or 7.5. I'm looking to replace an older pair of New Balance hiking shoes that I have loved for years. I was surprised to see that these are more pointed in the toe.

Probably the most comfortable activity shoe I ever owned. This is my third pair purchased! I did order half size larger than my typical and I wear an extra wide shoe; but these have become my go to for comfort.

Extremely comfortable and durable shoes. It is hard for me to find a shoe wide enough to fit my foot, but have never had a problem with New Balance shoes, including this one. Great shoe!

Yes, this shoe definitely meets my expectations. They fit perfectly and are very comfortable standing and striding. I was pleasantly surprised at how light they are. Nicely ventilated. Construction is sturdy and they look as good as I hoped they would when ordering. The price is pretty fair, and the package arrived on time too. Another happy Zappos experience.

Very comfortable and the grey color looks good with "city" clothes. I spent eight days walking around London and never even thought about my feet. The cushioning was also kind to my double knee replacements. A winner!

These are better looking in person then I expected. They are just as good as New Balance shoes that cost twice as much. I'm thinking of purchasing another pair at this great price.

Great service from Zappos as usual, these shoes are super comfortable, and lightweight, great for walking on different terrains. I feel very secure on each step, In love with my 659's.

Bought this shoes for my father in law who is hard to fit! In addition he is diabetic and has to be careful with his shoes since he is really prone to foot ulcers. He loves this show. Wears it everyday!

Comfortable. More so than either Tennies or Prowalkers. And my size 14 feet are picky.

My husband really likes the comfort of these shoes. His prior pair wore out at the sides of the heels because of post-stroke walking difficulty and he was looking forward another pair like his first pair. Thanks for your prompt service.
