I wear an 8 1/2 so I ordered the 39 on my first try. Even with socks I felt like they were just too large. The straps on their tightest setting were still too big as well as too much length in the foot bed. So I exchanged them for the 38 and they fit perfectly with or without socks. So it would seem these run large.

I never understood the Birkenstock hype until I finally caved and purchased my first pair. These are hands down the most comfortable shoe I have ever put on (and these aren’t even the softbed version!) The only down side would be figuring out the sizing. I typically wear a 5.5 and the size 36 were too big as I had tried that size on at a retail store. For these, I decided to go with a size 35 which translates to about a 4-4.5 on the Birkenstock size chart, so I’d recommend sizing down. Also, I chose the narrow size and I would say my feet are neither wide nor narrow. Overall, they fit perfectly and are very well made. The inside material will show your toe marks very quickly if that’s something that bothers you. Love love love these!

These ran a little large so we exchanged - my daughter typically wears a 10, so we re-ordered in a 9 and they fit perfectly. Customer service was GREAT in helping us with the exchange.

I'm typically a 7.5 in sandals and an 8 in flats and sneakers. In these, I purchased a 38 narrow, which Birkenstock says is a 7-7.5. They fit perfectly. I also tried these in a 37 narrow and found that my toes hit the front lip when I walked. I'm not a fan of that close a fit and Birkenstock says there should be a little room around your toes, so the 38 was just a much better choice. As for the width, I am not normally a narrow - I usually buy most of my shoes in a medium B width. However, for these, the narrow was perfect. I'm a big fan of the suede straps as well - I had no issues with any rubbing or discomfort either. Overall, I really like these and look forward to wearing them a lot this summer!

I've loved Birkenstocks for years. Sadly in the past year I've noticed a huge drop in their quality control. I've had to try and return numerous pairs of the same style and size due to defects in workmanship. But trying and re-trying pays off when I find a pair that is gloriously wonderful again! I'll wear these for a long time!

My daughter (17) loves these shoes. I bought her a pair of Birkenstock knock-offs and they started falling apart after wearing them twice. She will have these shoes for years.

My first pair of Birkenstocks! They provide great arch support. They are not too heavy. The suede is so soft and comfortable. There was no rubbing anywhere or break-in required. I love that they come in narrow because otherwise they would never stay on my feet! I did have a few issues with them, though. If your feet do not exactly fit into the molding, it may be uncomfortable (as for me). I got the 35 (smallest in adults) but really should have ordered 34 in kids (which I did). The molding perfect but they do not have as thick of a sole, and otherwise they seem to be the same quality. I am not sure if it is because I am just not used to wearing supportive shoes, but my feet get very tired and kind of hurt after wearing them for a hour or so. Maybe I just need to gradually build up my tolerance. I Love Zappos!

These are my sixth pair of Birkenstocks and third pair of the Arizona sandals. So it was no surprise that my feet were instantly at home in their newest Birks. My feet love the cork sole, the heel cup and the toe grips. And my toes love the air they're exposed to in these sandals. Foot comfort doesn't get better than this!

Just had to say that I've never had better service than from Zappos. Received these shoes in record time to replace some others I return. Didn't expect them so fast. Fit great, feel so good. Awesome.

I've worn Birk Arizonas for 20 + years and have never found a more comfortable all-purpose sandal anywhere. They last forever and only get more comfortable with age and then you can have them resoled. I wear them till they literally fall apart. Thanks, Birkenstock, for making such a quality product.

I have worn Birkenstocks for over 20 years and have convinced others to wear them also. They do take a few wearings to become comfortable to your foot. The heel well is wonderful as it keeps the shoe from slipping off. Arizona is my favorite but Florida is a close second. My granddaughter likes Arizona, Gizeh and Boston. My sister-in-law has problem feet and she wears nothing but Arizona's --to church, weddings, funerals etc. I wear them all day, every day and my feet never hurt. Try them--You'll love them!

Arizona Suede - A great sandal, less break in time than regular leather. The sandal ran a whole size larger than advertised listing, but that is why you should buy from Zappos. Zappos is a fantastic company with awesome customer service and shipping, the people go out of their way to make every purchase easy.

Birkenstock Arizona - I have two pairs of these shoes and they are great! Don't be hesitant to buy them because you might think they are ugly (they are not, ladies, just keep your toenails painted--like I know you already do!) or too expensive for a sandal. They are extremely comfortable! I have never worn a shoe that could be worn for hours and hours and not hurt my feet! Before these shoes I wore chucks and flip flops and it's hard for me to go back! One thing I will note, however, is the sizing: I usually wear a size 8 woman's shoes, sometimes 7.5 and 8.5. But for these I am buying a 37, which is for 6-6.5 feet. Choose carefully to get a good fit, but after that you will find yourself buying more and more, even with the price tag! It's worth it!

Great shoes! I love my Birks... I've owned three pairs over the past 11 years and I would never give up owning a pair. They feel and fit great and they give me great support exactly where I need it.

Birkenstock Arizona Suede - Can't say enough good things about my first buying experience with Zappos. At about 5:00p.m. one evening I placed the order and my shoes were on the front porch the next afternoon when I got home from work. My shipping had been upgraded to overnight, at no cost to me. While I don't expect that will happen every time I order, what a great welcoming gift. Besides that, the shoes were everything I expected and were on my feet immediately. Thanks so much Zappos!!

Great sandal, great website! I ordered these late Monday night and they arrived first thing today, Wednesday! OK, but about the shoe. If you've owned Birks before, then I needn't explain how great these are for your feet, legs, and spine. Basically, they are great all around shoes for keeping your body in line. My chiropractor suggested I get a new pair after my back went out. I love suede and leather so I chose the Arizona slide in Taupe, a good all-around color that goes with everything. My feet are mismatched in size, so my left is slightly smaller than my right. When ordering the size I recalled that my previous pair were a bit wider than I would have liked, so this pair I ordered the narrow in a 40. PERFECT FIT, for my size 9.5/10 feet (women's).

Good sandal for a kid who is having heel discomfort. Dressy enough to wear to dinner out, but casual enough to wear everyday.
