I was skeptical about buying these because of the price and number of sorority girls who wear them, but these are awesome! My Tevas were finally ready to be retired, and these are a definite upgrade. The sole is thick and protects my feet from rocks on the trail. The straps are also better because I don't have to stop every once in a while to restrap the Velcro like on Tevas. I usually wear a size 8 or 8.5 and have very narrow feet and the size 8 in these fit great after some adjustment of the straps. Overall, this is a good hiking sandal. I think I'm going to keep the Tevas for boating/wading though because these Chacos are a little on the heavier side.

I have a narrow, flat foot: these shoes provide such arch support that my feet, legs and back never bothered me this last summer. I wore them every day, all day in the summer (and sneak them out with socks on some cool days). The footbed does rough up feet a bit, so use moisturizer regularly. There is not much traction on wet surfaces (pool decks). You can clean them with soap, water and a small brush, hit them with the hose, and they look brand new. Okay for narrow feet as they are 100% adjustable for fit. Well worth the money!

I live in Chacos year round now that they also have boots. They have real arch support (almost never found in any brand) and with my really high arches and just a bit wide feet, Chacos provide support & comfort all day.

Very comfortable. Immediately after purchase I wore these sandals for 2 weeks in China and they were great the entire time. Highly recommend!

I find the heel grips make even the wide size too narrow in the heel for me. Wearing them with the straps loose helps though. I love these sandals for the arch support, so they are a keeper even though I have developed callouses on the sides of my heels. I normally wear a size 8 medium but ordered these in a 7W.

These have to be the best sandals ever made. They have excellent arch support and can be worn in many different environments: hiking, walking, rain/water, and if you wanted you could wear socks with them. I love the fit of the strap, once you get it adjusted to your specifications they're perfect! I've had them for almost 3 years now, and recommend them to most everyone. I've worn them hiking in the mountains, and all over campus on rainy or warm days. You will not regret getting these. Fit true to size and can be resoled or re-strapped over time. As always Zappos shipped super quickly! I love you Zappos!

Love these sandals. My husband has a pair and he wears them all the time. I decided to try them and now I understand why. They are the most comfy sandals I own. Love 'em. First I tried the pair with a big toe strap and that style didn't work for me. I felt like my foot was out of alignment. Then I tried this style and it's great. I like the style and color. Wish this particular shoe came in more color choices.

I didn't buy these through Zappos - I went and bought my Chacos from a camping store three years ago. The staff was knowledgeable and fitted them for me, I've known people to be in discomfort with these sandals, but once fitted right, they are very comfortable. Chaco claims that these are easy to adjust, but I disagree! I'm not a very outdoorsy person; I normally wore these to school and for running errands and camp. But this summer I found my self going on a three week volunteer trip to Ghana. I made sure to pack my Chacos! They are still as nice as they were three years ago, and I used them for everything except our manual labor (had to wear closed toe!). I wore them for walking, wading in water, the beach, and hiking. The best thing about Chacos is that they are very sturdy without covering much of your foot, so you don't feel claustrophobic, and when they get wet, it doesn't feel squishy and uncomfortable. You can truly take these everywhere! I'm very pleased with the traction the soles have, and I think they will last much longer.

This is my first pair of Chaco's. They are very comfortable, and will be perfect for walking all over Chicago on my upcoming vacation. The strap adjustment system is new to me. While it was a bit of a challenge at first, I really like they way the sandals can be custom fit to my needs. I have a neuroma in my left foot, and these sandals eliminated the discomfort by letting me adjust the strap to relieve any pressure. The arch support and comfort are amazing. Way more than I would like to spend on sandals, but I must admit, it's worth it.

I love these shoes. They are very comfortable,cushioned and stable on my feet. The footbed is very contoured, which is great for my high arches. If you've got flat feet however, it would probably be uncomfortable. They are very attractive looking as well. My hubby, who normally thinks these athletic type sandals are hideous - actually likes the look of these!

Love this sandal. Very comfortable even for my plantar fasciitis. The only complaint I have, which doesn't deter me from making this my favorite shoe, is the sole material doesn't allow your foot to breathe. My feet are stinky when I take them off for the day. Add dirt and grass clipping to the mix and the stink is even worse.

I'm a Florida Snowbird. Had my first pair of Chacos about 9 years ago. I now have 16 pairs as I like to match my clothes with my shoes. I've worn the double strap (never toe strap) on the cruise ship in the evening. I've had many people stop me and ask me about them. They are very comfortable. They are worth every penny you spend. I put them in the washing machine on cold or warm and then put them in the sun to dry. They come out looking like new. I'm ready to order the new color called twelve. An interesting name for a color. But 99% of the time these shoes are the ones I have on. I put them on in the morning and forget about my feet until 10:00 at night. I can't say enough about the arch. It's the best.

These sandals are so comfortable and twice I have had strangers stop me and compliment the shoes. The arch is the best. This is my second pair because I walk my dog in them and they get dirty, so now one is for walking the dog and the other is for everyday wear.

This is one of the best footwear purchases I've made. Great comfy shoes that I can wear from hanging around to going on a small hike. I normally wear a size 8 in regular shoes, but ordered a 7 and they fit great. Also, I ended up returning the first pair to get the wides. If you're on the fence, go for the wide.

I love them! I was looking for a good walking sandal and this did the job.

My daughter owns 4 pairs of Chaco sandals so I decided to try them. She let me try her size 7, and they were perfect even though we both wear 7½. I wear orthotics so need a very supportive sandal, and these are right! I soon may have another three pairs myself!

These are my third pair of Chaco brand sandals. They do not disappoint! They are comfortable and offer great arch support. I wore these in Disney World and in Alaska with no issues whatsoever. I love Chaco and Zappos!

These are wonderfully comfortable sandals, especially for those of us with high arches. They are the first sandals I have found that have a really nice arch support. I wear them all day. The sizing is interesting, though, if you normally wear a half size. I usually wear a 9 1/2 and bought a size 9, which fits well. With Zappos' wonderful cost-free returns, you do not have to worry about this. Since the straps are all fully adjustable, having a narrow foot like I have is not an issue at all.

Zappos is very customer oriented. Free return shipping enables the customer to find the correct fit and style. The strap on this item has a tendency to tighten slightly during wear so I suggest to keep it simple, go with the Z/1 which is one strap without the wrap on the toe. They are a roomy, "good shoe" fit. This is the first sandal to ever give my high arches support. I will definitely buy another pair someday.

These sandals are comfortable, have great arch support. I love them and would buy another pair anytime. Great purchase!

Order a size 11 didn't fit. I called customer service,changed the size and I had a new pair the next day! Great service. I liked the joke of the day.

Second pair of Chacos and they are great. I wanted a pair without the strap that goes around the toe because I found it got uncomfortably tight as the day wore on. I like Chaco sandals' good arch support, although it can take some getting used to, as well as the textured sole (rated these a 4 on comfort because of this). The best thing is that you can adjust all the straps for a custom fit. My size is between a 7 and 7.5 and I mostly end up going with 7.5, but in this sandal, the 7 was the right length. As always, Zappos service was great and received this order the next day on the early UPS delivery. Zappos rocks!

Great shoe! Recommended by my podiatrist. Very comfortable especially if you have foot problems.

Don't give up too soon! I bought my first pair of Chacos sandals, a Z1, from a camping store several years ago. (First of many, and more to come.) I noticed the same problem as reviewer Donna from Texas (3/1/11). Within the first few hours of wearing, they became uncomfortable. The arch seemed very high. I was about to return them, but when I called the store, the sales person told me that this was normal, to keep wearing them periodically, and that the discomfort would disappear. She was right! Within a short time (a day or two, I don't recall the exact time frame) the discomfort went away, and they became my most comfortable sandals. They provide wonderful support, and are excellent for extended walking and travel. I wore them every day all through a three week backpacking trip to India. So, Donna, try again, and power through! (Oh, and by the way, for me they had an unexpected benefit. On the first day, the footbed of these sandals totally exfoliated the bottom of my feet! Looked a little gross, but after a little cleaning, great result! Not to worry, it didn't keep happening.)
