Perfect for traveling - Bought these for backpacking through Southeast Asia and they were perfect. Ideal for wet weather, sturdy enough for hiking, but light and easy to wear poolside also. The perfect shoe for a trip.

I have had Tevas for years, but the foot doctor recommended Chaco for better support. The wide width is still not quite wide enough, but it works. The main problem I have had is that the straps get tighter as I walk. It has become less noticeable as they have broken in more. I did not see any other reviews that mentioned this when I was shopping, so I don't know if it is a common problem. I also figured out that you can lay the toe part down flat by pulling the strap through all the way. This gives you the Z/1 sandal as well as the Z/2. This seemed to help the problem as well and gave my toe a break. I like how firmly the foot is held in these compared to my previous brand, and the toe strap is the key to it. It does take some getting used to. I plan to have these for many years to come as they seem to be very well made.

Favorite shoes ever - I just bought a pair to replace my first pair, which I wore whenever possible for 5 years before they wore out (I neglected getting them resoled before the foot bed got worn). They are extremely comfortable, great for walking/hiking, easily washed and ridiculously durable. The strap does hang too far off of the buckle, but I just trimmed it and used a lighter to fuse the end to prevent fraying, and had no problems for 5 years. Highly, highly recommend.

Very comfortable, highly recommended. True to fit and extremely comfortable. I bought these for my son, and he hardly takes them off. Stylish and good looking.

Comfortable and durable - After trying many brands of strap sandals, I have found Chaco to be the best. Comfortable straps and unbeatable arch support. I have had my pair for 4 years. They have survived extensive outdoor use every year, from climbing to hiking to canoeing along with simple daily activities. Well worth the price! Also, they can be re-soled and re-strapped.

Best Sandals - I usually wear a 10&1/2, so I went with an 11 and it fit very well (not compact, mind you, just comfortable). Trying to configure the straps was very frustrating and it was hard to find a comfortable configuration, so I just wore them and they configured themselves wonderfully. At the end of the first day, your foot will hurt as it is adjusting to the arch of the shoe, but after that, they feel great.

Excellent Sandals - Definitely the most comfortable and secure-fitting sandals I've ever owned. Performance is very similar to a regular shoe. The only thing that I wish I had paid closer attention to when I bought mine is the size. I normally wear a 9 in most everything, but these seemed to be sized much larger so I went with an 8. Now after wearing them for a year, I feel like I could probably even wear a 7 without them being too small. I do like a trim, compact fit though. Just make sure you buy the right size so that the heel cup and arch support properly fits. When sized and adjusted correctly, these are as good as they come.

I love my Chacos - I love to have open toed shoes... and I like performance from a shoe. I found both of these aspects in these sandals. I wear mine every single day! They are the most comfortable shoes i have ever had. I wear them in cold weather even! They are great for camping, river activities (kayaking is what i do mostly) and they are excellent. I strongly recommend Chacos to anyone who wants performance and comfort in a sandal. THERE IS NO BETTER!!!

I am a woman with wide feet and high arches. I ordered the smallest men's size in wide. I am replacing two pairs that are wearing out that are many years old. I liked the old ones better because the wide was a different style, without the "aggressive arch support". Now the wide is the same as the regular width. When I first saw the old style, I thought "Oh, they think all wide feet are flat feet!" But, their misconception was to my benefit as the old shoes are more comfortable. The new shoes feel good when I'm wearing them, but my feet and knees have been sore after wearing them. Because I have high arches, I don't usually experience arch support putting much pressure on my arches when I step or filling so much of the space under my arches. I have come to the conclusion that healthy arches protect our joints like shock absorbers and that too much arch support is not a good thing. Maybe it's something you have to get used to. I love the look and the fit is pretty decent. I'm sure I'll wear these, though not as much as the old style. Now that my best option for sandals isn't as good, I plan to spend the time I would have spent shopping for something else learning to make my own sandals.

Best sandal I have ever had! I have worn Tevas for the past 14 years, then I discovered Chacos and they are the bomb! I have always favored the thong type, so that is why the Z2 appeal to me. I am more of a glove person vs. a mitten. A tighter fit and more control. Teva in the past few years has rarely, if they did at all, offer a thong type sandal. After wearing these, they provide really good support. Being tough with good traction, they are like little SUVs for your feet. To be as meaty as they are, they are really light. I do hope Chaco continues the “if it is not broken, don't fix it” attitude vs. Teva’s “lets re-invent the wheel every new season” attitude. I wear sandals all year long. I even wear them to work as often as I can.

Awesome Sandal - This sandal is the only footwear I wear during the spring, summer, and fall. I would wear them throughout the winter if I wasn't afraid of frostbite. By far the most comfortable footwear I ever put on my foot.

Great summertime sandal! A great sandal for getting out and doing stuff in. They appear to be well constructed, so I expect to get many years of wear from them. For hanging out in the back yard, give me simple flip flops, but these are perfect for more adventurous activities. A little tricky to get the straps adjusted just right, but otherwise a very well fitting and comfortable sandal. They also require more effort than velcro strapped sandals to get on and off, but they do stay firmly on your feet.

Chaco Z Unaweep - Generally a comfortable sandal part of the time. Feels good on the feet 45% of the time. One issue in design impacts comfort -- the cinch strap is too long. Once tightened to hold the sandal on the foot the length is such that the strap gets under the foot about half the time. The end of the strap is thick enough to make this generally annoying when this happens. Also, sometimes the plastic buckle can dig into the foot making a cut. The one design short fall negatively impacts the comfort of this otherwise solid sandal. I guess you could cut the strap to shorten it -- would still not overcome the problem with the plastic buckle cutting into the skin.

Great sandals! Having had problems with my feet over the past few years, regular sandals either weren't comfortable and/or offered no support. These sandals offer support, are comfortable, and look great. The best I've found!

The best sandal you can buy - $90, is it worth it? For a pair of sandals? Overwhelmingly, YES. I hiked in Bolivia, the AT, parts of Central America, and it took me 2 years to wear these things out. They are the most comfortable, high-performance, durable, and stylish sandal you can get on the market today. But the toe, the TOE...You get used to the toe loop in a matter of minutes, no big deal. I highly recommend these sandals...worth every penny.

Uncomfortable! completely useless. The ridges on the side dig into the soles because the strap can't prevent side-to-side foot movement. The toe strap irritates the great toe. Very disappointing esp. considering the high price. OH, and they are heavy!

Comfortable - The arch support is wonderful. The toe strap is a little strange to get used to and it seems to tighten while wearing the sandals. I wish the heel strap adjusted and I wish you could take up the slack of the strap that crosses the top of your foot with another pull tab in the back. Other than those items, I really like the sandals.

Chaco Z/2 is amazing - I absolutely love my Chaco’s. I went rock climbing and ended up the second day having the shoes hiked three miles. They are great for hiking to the crag. I have no complaints at all.

Outstanding Sandal - Perhaps the best sandals ever made. I am currently on my third pair. I disagree with a previous reviewer though. Resoling is not a great choice; mine delaminated at a very unfortunate time.

Wonderful Sandals - These are the best sandals I've had and pretty much the only ones I wear anymore. They are extremely comfortable and wear very well. I have even used them while backpacking with a full load (35+ lbs) with no issues. They are my favorite pair of footwear. Yes, they are expensive, but considering they can be resoled and straps can be redone, it's worth it. Plus, I have friends who have had pairs for years without needing a resole.

Chaco Z/2 - After seeing the Chaco revolution in my town, seeing almost everyone wearing them, I decided to try these out. They are very comfortable, and cool looking for sandals. Adjust the straps as they tell you to, leaving room for your finger to fit under them, and they fit very well. You don’t even notice the toe strap when you adjust them like that. I have narrow feet, and the heel risers are almost to narrow even for me, so I would go for wide if you have average feet.
