I purchased these shoes as river shoes for an upcoming trip. It takes a little bit of playing around with the straps to get them adjusted just right and awhile to break in. These are great shoes however buy them ahead of time and allow time to break in.

Every year I spend time white water rafting in Idaho. Chaco makes terrific water shoes and the Z/2 Unaweep is no exception. They are extremely comfortable and have a great design. Most importantly they have great traction on slippery surfaces. This is my second pair and I intend on buying another pair soon.

I really want to like these shoes. They have good arch support and kept my feet undamaged while hiking over lava rocks. I can wear them to the beach or for a hike in the mountains. Chacos likes to advertise that their adjustable straps really make their shoes special. However, the adjustable straps are really a downfall. Sand or dirt is bound to get in the slits, making them impossible to adjust or clean properly. I'm considering having my cobbler glue the straps down so that they cannot adjust. This shoe is too high-maintenance for a nylon/rubber sandal.

These sandals are great! They're stylish and comfortable. The toe strap can take some getting used to and might rub your big toe red the first few times of wearing them, even more so if you have sensitive skin like me, but it's not bad. Be careful on sizing - the straps are rather long, so if you have boney feet you may want to round down your size to avoid a long hanging strap. I love my Chacos and highly recommend them!

Chacos are the absolute best technical sandals available. Hands down! My first pair of Z2's lasted 9 years before I replaced them. The support that you get from the toe loop, especially when going downhill is fantastic!

I have had these Chacos for 4 years now and they only look better with a little wear. I recommend these to anyone and everyone. They are perfect for every activity from kayaking to walking around. When you buy Chacos you are buying a guarantee that they will do everything that you ask them to do plus some. Also the vibram bottoms will last forever.

So glad these are available in solid colors other than black! These are my third or fourth pair of Chacos, and they are my go-to summer sandal. I live in a southern city and walk everywhere, so these are my primary shoes for about 7-8 months out of the year. I walk about 30 miles/week between commuting and running errands, and each pair lasts about two years before the soles start to crack. I usually wear a woman's 11W or 11WW (a Men's 10 in Chacos) and I have a very high arch and instep. These sandals support and accommodate my difficult-to-fit feet, and have a firm footbed, which is helpful if you have plantar fascitis. I wouldn't call Chacos "stylish," exactly, but even in stuffy Washington, DC, I am seeing them more and more. If you live in the West or Northwest, then you probably already own a pair!

This is my third pair of Chacos, the previous two being flip flops, and all I can say is that I am highly impressed. I used to go through a pair of sandals a summer, wearing them literally everywhere, until I bought my first pair of Chacos in 2009. They finally broke last fall, so I quickly ordered a replacement pair. Best value footwear bar non. So I knew I had to give their Unaweeps a shot, as everyone I knew in college swore by them. These are as burly as a lightweight hiking boot for a sole, but with the wearability of a sandal as an upper. perfect balance for longer walks or hikes. Somewhat tough to break in, but well worth it, my only complaint really would be my "chaco tails" problem, the strap is a little long for my low volume foot, but I just wrap them around the heel strap and am on my way. You can't go wrong, and these things seem like they will last forever. If you are thinking about buying a pair, just get them and don't look back.

The sandals were great and the service even better. We live out in the desert of California (Death Valley) so shop on the web a lot. We both ordered sandals in two sizes then bought the ones we liked best. The return of the sandals was easy and free and the folks in customer service were great to work with on the phone. Made everything clear and easy to understand no problem.

These are the most comfortable beings to ever grace my feet--ever. When I have to go to Chem lab, and have to wear closed-toe shoes, I'm sure to keep some Chacos to change into afterwards because of how comfy these babes are. My feet were spoiled rotten in the summer from walking around in a Chacos, so, now, my feet are dead walking around campus with normal shoes. Chacos with socks, anyone?! I think yes!

Great walking sandals. Excellent stability, traction. The lacing system takes some getting used to, but, once done, it makes for a very comfortable, supportive shoe. Tips: if you're a half-size, order up; the patterned straps seem to be easier to adjust than the all-black ones. I switched from Keens, and am very happy that I did.

I am very happy with my Chaco sandals thus far. I have been wearing them most every day for a few weeks now and I really have no complaints. I am a pretty skinny guy with thin feet and the sandals fit nice and snug. I do have quite a bit of extra strap after tightening them up, but I can tuck the extra into the sandal straps. They are very comfortable sandals. I went on an easy hike yesterday and they felt good.

These shoes are great! I will definitely buy more Chacos. If you are outdoors-y, they are the perfect shoe because you can get them wet, hike, bike, camp, you name it. They are also more comfortable than my sneakers! They run big unless you have very wide feet, so go down if you wear a half size.

These are excellent sandals. They took several days to break in, but have become very comfortable.
One feature I'd like to highlight is the fact that unlike all my other shoes, these are extremely easy to keep clean, which is important because black straps and insoles show sweat stains and dead skin easily. The solution is to throw them in the shower (or wear them in the shower) and they stay looking brand new. They also dry quickly, which is great.

Very happy with my Chacos! Love this color as well. So comfortable with great arch support. I first ordered an 11 but they were too big so I returned them for a 10. My foot measures a 10 and 1/2. Highly recommend this sandal!

I have very flat feet and at first molded footbed was uncomfortable. Also, it took me a little while to get used to the straps. They chafed and created blisters on my toes. I used bandaids the second day out and by the third day there were no issues (straps loosened and softened). Although it took a few days for these to break in, they are now the most comfortable shoes/sandals I own. At the end of the day my back and legs ache less. But the big surprise for me was how good they felt to run in. Note: I gave the style 5 stars despite the fact that these are clearly not designed to be stylish. I didn't see the need to lower the perfect rating because there's nothing I would change about the design.

These shoes gave my husband blisters after the first day! I would not recommend these; however, I will always recommend Zappos for their excellent customer service!

I bought these for my husband for Father's Day. He loves them, they are very comfortable and he can run around with the kids and they stay on his feet. He usually goes through one pair of sandals a summer, and they fall apart! I got him these because I think they will hold up much longer, they seem very tough!

I read many great reviews about Chaco sandals here, and not being sure what style I'd like I purchased them last year at a retail store that specializes in the great outdoors. I hate these sandals! They are impossible to adjust. After a few months I went back to the store, and they said they just needed to be worn and broken in. I've tried soaking them in fabric softener (a hint picked up online), and last week at the same store it was suggested I try soaking them in a Simple Green solution, which the Chaco rep recommended. I have tried this, but I have not worn them sufficiently for dirt or grime to be a problem, and the soaking did nothing to improve the adjusting of the straps. Maybe I just have a bad pair, but when I was at this store another time I heard another woman complaining about them too, so there must be others. I do not recommend these under any circumstances.

Lighter and more comfortable than the older yampa chaco (which I returned and Zappos was great about) I'm hoping to not ever worry about buying another sandle. I wear a 9 1/2 and the 9 fit perfect.

Contour feels very comfortable, and there is plenty of padding. The size that I ordered felt a little large. I wasn't able to adjust the strap to support my heel without tightening everything down too hard on the top of my foot. My foot tended to rest in the back area, and the arch extended beyond my natural arch in the front. You may keep that in mind.

These sandals were so heavy. They were clunky to wear. The neat part - you could pull the straps through the sole to make toe, instep, etc. tighter or looser as needed. I sent them back.

These shoes fit well and weren't hard to adjust. The instructions on the box were helpful. Maybe took 1 day to get used to how the straps felt.

After using the sandals for a month, I must say that while these are fine, they are far from the best pair I have owned. The toe strap is kind of annoying, and the upper side of the sole could be made better.

Very happy with my purchase of the Chacos. I bought these to use during a 4 day rafting trip through the Grand Canyon. I wore them every day and they were great for being on the raft and also ideal for day hikes when walking through creeks and scrambling up rocks. They were comfortable and never caused any discomfort.
