Nice looking, but wide -
These are nice looking thongs, but for women I highly recommend getting the Reef Sweep instead (also nice looking, but might not come in black). I need to return the Fanning’s because they flop around on my feet, but I have two pairs of Sweeps and love them. If you get the Fanning style, I recommend ordering a half size smaller than you usually wear. I followed recommendations and ordered my regular size, and the sandals are too long as well as too wide.

Absolutely love these sandals, but I do wish the color combinations weren't so extreme and the Reef name was not advertised so boldly. However, I would love another pair. As for fit, I take a size 10 and they fit perfect. I do see why some felt they fit a half size smaller because my heel is at the very back of the sandal.

Good Sandal, beware of sizing -
As with the women’s 'Slap' you should be aware that this sandal runs small, and not true to size. I am a 5, and the 5 was too small. I would suggest ordering the size up, for maximum comfort. It looks great, is very comfortable and other than being aware of the sizing, I would highly recommend it!!

Coral Reef Fanning -
Obviously the bottle opener is a big selling feature of this product. My only complaint is that I ordered the smallest size (size 5) and it came a lot bigger than most size 5's I own. It fits and looks like it's a size 6 which detracts from the overall appearance.

These are too tight across the top of my feet! I’ve always worn size 38 with Reef. Something has changed! I will be donating these. I tried the men’s size. They’re too wide! Bummed! I hope you go back to how they used to be!

The heel is a little weird and the straps are hard and stiff but the colors are very cool. I need a 9 in reefs when most of my other open shoes are an 8 .

My pair was defective. One shoe was bent backwards. Also, the toe divider is very rough, coarse material so, it hurt in between my toes.

I love Reef flip flops, but I was somewhat disappointed with these. They are not as comfortable as the 2 other pair that I have, and they are not as flexible. The straps seem much more stiff. They look really cute, but they're just not as comfortable. Also you will need to go up a size as I normally wear a 9, and I needed to return them to get a 10. I hope they last as long as my other Reef sandals for the price!

Since my foot is wide and I have foot problems, I’ve been searching for a comfortable flip flop. To account for my wide foot, I first ordered the new men’s Slap in a size 6. This was comfortable, but the top strap was a little snug. I decided to give the Fanning a try before I really wore the others. However, in comparison to the Slap, the Fanning’s sole is much harder, the strap on top is much stiffer and the snugness of the strap was painful over my instep. I tried on both the Slap and the Fanning in a side by side comparison, and the Slap had a much cushier sole and seemed quite comfortable in comparison. So the Fanning is going back. By the way, as a size comparison, the men’s Slap, size 6, is the exact same length and width as the Fanning size 7 for Women. I think the Men’s Slap may have a little more room over the instep, since it felt more comfortable to me (but still a little snug). Maybe the women’s Slap would be the same as the men’s. I just thought the Men’s would give more room so I ordered them first (and they look the about same). I also wasn’t thrilled with the Bottle Opener on the Fanning which is why they weren’t my first consideration. I keep thinking it might be harder to clean out if I accidentally step in something my dog leaves behind!

My first pair of Reef products. I made the purchase after seeing a friend's Reefs. It appears to be a well made flip flop, but there is an issue for me. After wearing for a while the first day, the right shoe was actually cutting into my 2nd toe. I made several attempts to adjust the shoe on my foot, reposition, etc, but it remained very uncomfortable, and I haven't worn since. Not sure if there is a defect in the right shoe or what (the left shoe is very comfortable). Anyway don't mean to bag on Reef, just not the best for me

These are the BEST sandals. Been wearing them for about 7 years now and just replace them each spring/summer. And if you didn't notice they do have a bottle opener on the bottom. Haven't really ever used it but just FYI.
