I have (or had) plantar fasciitis and have managed to keep it at bay for many years by always wearing supportive shoes. However, most supportive shoes aren't always the cutest things in the world. I came across these sandals on the Zapppos website and was impressed by the number of positive reviews. While I wouldn't call these sandals exactly orthopedic, they are definitely well-made and supportive for those of us with foot issues. The leather is also extremely soft and buttery and feels great against the skin. While I probably couldn't wear these all day, they should be great for me for occasions where I need a little bit dressier shoe than my everyday Birkenstocks. I must admit that I am a little taken aback by the price an am not 100% sure if they're worth what I've paid, but when you have foot problems price is the last thing you consider.

Love these--comfort as expected from Arche. The 9-1/2 was a perfect fit/usually a 10.

Where have these shoes been my whole life? Simply the perfect shoe. So comfortable, so stylish. Perfection. Absolutely worth the money. I have wide feet with a very high arch. Size 10. I always order 41 but only 42 was available, and it fits fine. 41 would've been okay too.

Perfect balance between comfort and style! I ordered up a half size and they fit perfectly. I walked miles in these straight out of the box with no comfort issues. I wish Zappos had the fushia/black combo shown in the video!

I am on my feet all day - teaching first graders, and I have terrible feet. It is very difficult to find shoes to wear all day that don't hurt. These are a saving grace for me. So comfortable right out of the box and comfortable all day long! Worth every penny!

I bought these for a trip to France. They served me so well that they've become my everyday summer shoe. Very comfortable, flexible and the wide elastic straps stretch for a perfect fit even if your ankles are swollen. Very pricey but totally worth it. 4 months in and the unbuckled still looks pristine -- I have the tan/black style.

These are immediately comfortable and I feel very stable walking in these. I think they will work well on the cobblestones during our European trip this summer. The back strap is high but it has not bothered me.

Coughed a little at the price of these especially since I am the "princess and the pea" with feet and can't seem to find anything comfortable or supportive enough to wear for any length of walk, but holy cow these are worth every penny! Walked a lot one evening on vacation wearing these for the first time and not one blister or problem with them. Very trendy with maxi shirts/dresses or palazzo pants too. So comfortable and no slipping around on my narrow flat feet. I could take normal strides. Some color came off on my heels from the straps but that was minor compared to the comfort of these shoes.

The Arche Satia is expensive but worth it. Not only is it elegant and chic, but unbelievably comfortable. I love these sandals and highly recommend.

I tried on these shoes at a local store and really liked them. However, I did not want to pay so much for them. I remembered hearing about Zappos, and there you go! I got them very quickly and paid less. I will continue to shop Zappos.

I wear a size 9N or 9.5 N in a sandal. The size 40 Satia was good for me. I did need to put a foot pad in the sandal, but it is the most comfortable sandal I have ever worn. These shoes are worth every penny. The Haciende [fuschia] is a dark and rich color. You could wear this sandal to walk all over Europe or around town all day doing errands. They look chic and stylish and are so comfortable, too.

These are the most comfortable sandals I've ever owned. They are a funky kind of cute. They leave my feet feeling held and supported. Bought them at their crazy price for traveling - plan to do a lot of walking and plan to have these on my feet! Cute with skinny jeans.

The fit is about equal to US sizes, both in width and in length. I wear 8.5 in US sizes, medium width -- In Arche shoes, the size 39 fits perfectly in sandal and Bibiki boot styles. In flats, I find they run very narrow and short - - I've settled on size 40 for these, although for me, the style is problematic for one foot. It's not the fault of the shoe, however.
I ordered the Satia in black nubuck and find it very comfortable. The sandal grips the foot so that there's no sliding around in the shoe. The heel height is great for me, higher than the Arche flats and the Bibiki boots. It's a comfortable height to wear for hours. My two slightly negative comments are: 1. It takes a little time to put the shoe on with all the elastic -- can't just slide into the sandal. 2. The black nubuck dye rubs off onto the foot, kind of a problem, but not big enough to dissuade me from keeping the sandals. One of Arche's most comfortable styles!

I had to return this shoe. I really like it, but I'm between sizes and couldn't get a comfortable fit. I almost kept the smaller size, thinking the leather will stretch, but decided not to take the risk. The design holds the foot well (elastic straps feel good on my narrow ankle compared with other shoes that have leather straps), and I think they're very good-looking and would be very comfortable if the fit were right.

The fit was very nice, snug on my foot. The nice wide straps provide excellent adjustibility. I would only wear this shoe when I am planning a lot of walking. I did not keep this shoe because my foot requires more of a mid foot support over a full day of walking.

I bought this style in the Nacre color from an Arche store and wore them a lot last summer. They are very comfortable and easy to walk in. When I ordered the Moon I neglected to look at the first pair and automatically ordered the 39 because I'm a size 8M most of the time. They were way too big. My first pair is a 38. I'm never a 7 but they fit well. Since I love the shoe and the Moon color, I immediately got on my computer and ordered the 38. These are perfect if you need a neutral walking sandal. They aren't trendy or edgy but look really nice and are heaven to wear.

The leather: Like butter. No hard spots, no digging in to flesh or heel. Comfort: Very comfortable. Color: The Amande was not appealing to me in person. It is darker, just less cozy looking. Value: I would maybe try them in another color, but just can't justify the price for an OK-looking shoe, even if it feels like slippers.

Sadly I had to return these shoes. I really liked the way they looked. The elastic, although comfy, wasn't holding my foot in place and I felt like I was sliding all around when I tried them on.

fit was true to size and it is a cute shoe, but strangely hard under the heel area. Returning as it is not that comfortable.

It's a shame Arches don't run in half-sizes. Usually they're a little large, so you can order down, but this shoe is small for an Arche. It might work fine for those who wear a full size.

i wanted these to fit, but I'm really a true 6 and these were a tad too small.
I love the color way so bummed because they are ultra comfortable.

The strapping on this shoe was too loose. I took two steps and nearly sprained my ankle falling out of the shoe.

It's true that these are comfy when you first put them on. But I would not recommend this style as a walking sandal. My heels slip easily off the spongy wedge as I walk, since the elastic ankle strap doesn't provide solid support -- a real design flaw. But the ultimate deal-breaker is that the black dye rubs off on my feet. There is just no excuse for that in a sandal at this price. Poorly designed and highly overpriced, Arche doesn't live up to the hype.
