The size seemed to run on the larger size if you run on a half-size like I do. When I tried them on they were more comfortable than I expected. I don't know what these other people are talking about, mine still needed to be broken in but not nearly as much as the other 10 pair of work boots I've bought.
The pulleys for the shoe string is interesting. I think that will make the laces last longer, but if you planned on pulling out the strings and replacing them with paracord, like I did, they make that difficult. I still haven't figured it out. Cool thing is, I'm pretty sure these laces ARE paracord with that plastic stuff on the end of shoe strings.
I work in forestry and have never had a single pair of boots hold up for a whole season, so I went looking for literally the best and most expensive pair I could find this time. These look/feel like they're going to hold up and are the most comfortable pair of work boots at the same time. I've yet to test them in saturated soil though. I'm happy so far.
One thing. My big toe was rubbing up against the inside of the toe box and zappos suggest I try a wider fit and that fixed the problem. I've never had to order wide shoes before, but I knew that if it bothered me a little bit in the first 3-5 minutes of testing them that I had better try it. Got the new ones in and those are the ones I'm talking about in the review. They're perfect. Now to just get them truly worn in.
Super last thing: The price point of these boots made me, and still make me, very uncomfortable. This is a lot of money for me. It appears to put into the quality and not the marketing or sales people though. I really am happy with these so far. If I can clean them like people say, and wear them casually as well, that probably will make it worth the money so I don't have to have separate shoes. If you think you should get these and would if they were a little bit cheaper, I'd go for it and through zappos because they'll work with you if they're not right. If this didn't exist, I never would have bought them. I hope this helps.

I have 2 pairs of these boots. I use them for work in the rough country living. I deal with rocks and brush. These were great in keeping my feet dry. I have to wear an insert. These boots left plenty of room for comfort. The VIBRAM sole and GORTEX lining are the thing to have when hiking in rough country.

Absolutely love these boots. True to size and were comfortable from the box. I would recommend this boot as a first choice.

ASOLO is the best hiking boot out there, no doubt. The PM is with their newest technology, feels excellent, and looks great. This is my second pair of ASOLO's and i highly recommend to anyone who wants a serious hiking boot that will be super durable, and great for hiking with heavy loads...

This boot was not for me, but an early Christmas present. The wearer is completely pleased with them; he's been wearing Asolo light hikers for the past 10 years or more, wanted a stiffer boot with more ankle support for moderate climbing. These fill the bill just perfectly. Asolo is a reliable brand, and Zappos is my favorite place to buy shoes!

This is a heavy duty boot that's super comfortable even if you're not wearing a pack. I upgraded to these from my last pair of Asolos that lasted 9 seasons before the sole began to fail.

Great boots if they fit perfectly. I got wide and they fit well... may turn out to be my best ever boots. These boots will break you before you break them. Great support but the fit is what you get out of the box... There will be no forgiveness.

Vasque no longer makes the model I ordered for my previous six pairs. I was not looking forward to a change. These boots are stiffer and heavier though after break in I have to say they are solid preforming boots. The lacing system is exceptional, and so far the waterproofing is working.

I spent several days looking at various brands & models of boots, and made my final decision on the Asolo 200 GV based on user reviews. I found these boots to be comfortable right out of the box - they did not need to be broken in. Very comfortable, and light weight; feet feel fine after a day of walking in the Asolo Power Matic 200 GV. I would purchase again.

Wonderful boots. Took a day or two of breaking in, but so comfortable my feet felt great after spending five hours on my feet washing a huge pile of dishes at my wife's bakery. I recommend a medium thick sock for comfort. The tread works and the rubber provides good grip. There's plenty of room in the toe box, no heel slip and excellent support at the ankle. The lacing system makes for a great fit. I can see why people use this boot to hike the Appalachian Trail.

I'm a plumber and I am on my feet all day in these boots. On the weekends I miss them so that I put them back on. I'm buying another pair so I can have a clean one too! Oh, and I have flat feet.

I bought these from Zappos in 2007, after a 2-week long hunt in rough terrain nearly ruined my feet. I bought several pairs of high end boots and tested them in my kitchen by walking on golf balls. These felt the best of the 3 brands that I bought, so I returned the other 2 pair. After over 6-years of hiking, trekking, climbing 14ers and generally abusing these boots, the sole on one finally separated after I walked into and kicked around a bonfire at my ranch for about the hundredth time. I love these boots so much that I sent them to Dave Page Cobblers in Seattle to be resoled and refurbished with Asolo components. I cannot say enough good things about these boots...just wow!

I bought these boots, based on online reviews, for backpacking and hiking. They are the most incredible shoes/boots I have ever owned. They are like wearing little bomb shelters on your feet! The support is fantastic and the durability amazing. I have worn them backpacking, climbing rocky hills and wading shallow creeks; I am impressed! The only negative I can find about these boots would be the weight and slightly "clunky" size. However, if you need a durable boot for hard wear, this is it!

These are outstanding boots. I have got 4E wide feet and these are the only boots that I have ever tried that are actually comfortable right out of the box without being sloppy - and I have tried a lot of boots looking for this. They have a great fit, and a great grip.

I have had two other pair of Asolo boots (520 gv) they last until you just want some new ones. I had my last pair 10yr. These boots are even better the pulleys in the eyelets work very well I'm impressed and you can hike in them all day without pain. (I back pack so I know the value of good boots) I probably found the boots I will wear for the rest of my life. (When they tank I'll buy these again.)

These boots are built like a tank, they're stiff but there made to be that way. Add some green superfeet and old kook laces and they will last you a lifetime. Asolos I've found are narrow and are about a half size to a size too big so. I wear a 9 1/2 D in Vans so. I ordered a 9 wide and I must say they are perfect. I've had a pair of Asolos for about five years and I'm a big guy and I'm rough on shoes and boots so trust me when I say if you want a sturdy quality, waterproof hiking boot Asolo is the best I've found.

I've had my Asolo for about 4 years now...love them. Very comfortable, support is crazy. Don't feel tired walking in them like other boots, but it's about time I get a new pair since I just got a new coat from the wife! So I gotta have a fresh new color to match!

I love these boots. I also have another pair of Asolos and the only things these lack compared to the others is the rubber bumper around the toe. I had read that but I got an excellent deal on these, so yes, they could use the rubber bumper because I am fairly clumsy and not precise about where I walk. Other than a few scuffs I have absolutely no complaint. I do not hike 100 miles, but work all day on concrete floors, so they are great for me!

I have a problem finding boots to fit. These were a shot in the dark and I am overall very pleased. esp. with the Gortex liner and Vibrum soles. I can be wear them for about 6 hours a day.
