Expensive as the dickens, but every now & than it's worth spoiling yourself. Production has been outsourced, but quality still great. Not Chinese throw-away quality like most shoes today?

Great shoe and my second pair. I wear them mostly w/o socks and they're by far the most comfortable and easy on the feet boat shoes or shoes of any sort. I've owned in my almost 70 years. Two minor issues at first, the color is ugly as sin right out of the box and they're a bit loose at the heel. The second is probably just a quirk of my foot and is taken care of by cinching up the leather cord really tight and re-tying the bow/knot. The other is fixable with a little cordovan polish and Neats foot oil. I'm sure the color would deepen over time but, as I said, it's UGLY.

Not crazy about the light color (too modern for my taste), but that's something that I can fix with mink oil or neatsfoot oil. Otherwise, these shoes are beautifully made, comfortable and and well worth the price.

I ordered my regular size and fit was way too big. At least a full size, maybe more. Shoe was also terribly wide. Based on fit, I could not even really guess what size to order that may fit. Very disappointed...I really wanted to love the shoes. I love Zappo's...great people and great customer service!

Much too large and wide. Have ordered other boat shoes from Mphisto in this size and they were perfect.

After 3 attempts at shipping me the correct shoe, I finally received the correct shoes. I am a previous wearer of the Mephisto Hurrikans, and many other Mephisto shoes, and absolutely loved them. This pair does not feel nearly as comfortable as my previous pairs. The leather feels much less supple, the sole is definitely cheaper feeling (time will tell) and the shoe just overall does not have the same Mephisto "out-of-the-box" look and feel that I have grown to expect. I have always been willing to pay the huge premium for Mephistos but these definitely do not pass that initial test (minus the mess up on the part of Zappos in getting them to me in the first place). As usual, Mephistos run around a size larger so remember to order at least one-half to one size smaller than you actual size.

I originally bought a size 9 1/2 which was very much larger than my usual size. I exchanged for an 8 1/2. that size was OK in the width but too short in length. Loved the look of the shoe but my feet did not like the feel.

Wow, the Mephisto Hurrikan quality has sure gone down hill. I had a pair from around 10-12 years ago and absolutely loved them. So, I purchased a new pair. The new pair is so uncomfortable and the leather quality is so inferior to my old pair. Save your money.

Amazing that a product of this quality and price is not available in narrow sizes above 11.

I was disappointed in the fit of this shoe. This was the first Mephisto brand that I had tried. I have a narrow foot and usually have to add a shoe pad. However, the slippage kept happening at the back of the shoe even with added padding. Loved the color in the photo, but upon arrival the color was more of a tan than a burgundy color. These are expensive deck shoe, and the best part is that I was able to return them to Zappo for a full reimbursement.

The style was great, however the color looked like the shoes were put in a washing machine with bleach. Furthermore, with all the hype about comfort, the soles were so stiff I don't think a silverback gorilla could bend them 180 degrees. Also, the heels were mentioned as having a substantial cushion to make walking more pleasant, in reality the heels were so hard you could drive nails into a soft wood board with them. All this for only $350...yuck.

THREE TIMES Trying to get a pair that would fit - NO LUCK!! Yes, my size is a bit large, as I am 6' 7", but the shoe size is 12 and has not changed in over 45 yrs. However, first order came with a size too large (13) despite ordering the 12. Second time a 12 did come but it was a NARROW, despite being a normal as well as too LARGE. I was sent another for a third item (11 1/2) and that one was also too narrow and too small. I guess being "Made in France" the metric folks could not comprehend the English (US) size format. Yes, the style was nice and the quality appeared to be fine but THE SIZING IS NOT PROPER. So, I will just have to have my prior 14 yr old set re-soled for the third time!!!
