So Comfortable! I love mocs, but they are not the easiest shoes in which to walk. Hurrikans have that Mephisto raised heel that helps propel one forward with each step. The padded tongue is quite soft and plush. One can firm up the fit so the heels do not slip and still be comfortable on top of the foot. I can see myself wearing these shoes just about everywhere. They are soft and comfortable right out of the box.

Mephisto shoes are simply the best! I believe that Mephisto Shoes are the benchmark for quality, construction and overall comfort. The price is obviously higher but there is no other shoe manufacturer that comes close to there level of comfort and durability. The only real drawback that I can offer to a potential buyer is that the shoe widths are a little wider than most american brands, so, if you have narrow feet, you may find the Hurrikan difficult to "snug up" due to the leather lace/moc style. I currently have 3 pairs of Mephisto's (Hiker, Gifford and now the Hurrikan) and they are the best shoes I have ever owned!

Great looking, fits well, but not all that comfortable. It's a very rigid sole. Not nearly as comfortable as Ecco or Rockport. I'm kind of disappointed at that price.

The Hurrikan's are a beautifully made shoe, but the be sure to order at least one size less than your normal size and width as they are made larger than expected. I normally wear a size 10.0 medium and ended up with a 9.5. The D is also too wide but the only width available.

I had a pair of these Mehistos back in the mid 90s and they were one of the most comfortable boat shoes I had ever worn and I have had many different kinds over the years. Somewhere along the line Mephisto changed construction of these shoes and they are not comfortable or "soft" at all. This has happened to so many shoes over the years. I would have sent them back but I wore them outside so I was stuck with them.

I consistently buy this shoe for my husband every other year. It fits beautifully and is very comfortable. Great quality. Highly recommend.

My feet are too skinny for the overall width of this shoe. The bottom opposing eyelets would have needed to be pinched together before any natural stretching. My heel is also too thin, therefore heel raised up from footbed as I walked. I'm very sorry. I have an old pair of Mephisto deck shoes that I love and they fit very well. They are 8 1/2 as well.

I take 8.5, my original order which was way too large and returned for 8.0 which was still large. So I ordered 7.5 which was just right. Original order contained a shoe bag. Neither of the second or third order contained one. Disappointed.

I returned first pair 8.5 for 8.0. I can wear the 8.0 but it is still somewhat longer than I needed. I usually wear 8.5 in all other shoes. When I returned the first pair I included the storage bag. The replacement pair did not include a bag. I actually liked that bag but I guess I should have known better than to return the bag too.

Excellent material, feel , and fit. It's the first time in quite a whale some one admired my shoos.

My husband ordered these shoes and really liked the style and quality. Although he ordered his normal size, these shoes were too large; unfortunately a smaller size wasn't available.

These are the third pair of Hurrikans I have had over the last 45 years. They are as good as the first, and I hope to need another pair in 15 years.

Beautifully crafted and sturdy. A little bit stiff for actual boat use but amazing walking shoe.

Probably my fifth pair. Solid value!

This is the only brand of shoe my husband has worn for the last eleven years. Pricey, but worth it. Well made, comfortable, and long lasting.

My husband loves these shoes. I purchased these to replace a pair that he literally wore out! He wanted me to send the old ones back to Mephisto to be rehabbed. I said ‘no way’ and ordered the new pair. Thankfully. They are comfortable right out of the box, no ‘breaking in’ necessary, so my husband is a happy camper. They are his favorite shoes. He wears them with shorts and slacks.

As boat shoes go these are certainly the nicest ones I've ever had, and I've had many different kinds and brands over the years. I have wide, flat feet, so my experience with arch support in these is probably not typical. However, I must say they are also more comfortable than any others I've had. The leather is thicker and there seems to be more cushioning, including in places most boat shoes overlook, like the toungue. My only observation is these don't look THAT much different than other boat shoes I own, and would suggest that customers consider whether these or 2-3 other decent pairs of boat shoes might best fit their needs, especially if boat shoes are something they only wear from time to time.

I would expect a shoe at this price to have a larger selection of widths. Great shoe but I cannot get my size.

purchased these shoes for travel to Italy and France and to wear on the airplane. for 3 weeks I word these shoes and except for one issue, I found them to be comfortable and well made. the only issue I have with them is that they are a bit larger than expected or anticipated. length was fine but they are wider than I would prefer. I therefore wear thicker socks which is not an adversity when wearing the shoes while walking 8 to 10 miles a day on city streets and byways.

Great pair of shoes. This is the second pair I've owned. They are expensive but very comfortable and well made.

A beautiful shoe. Unfortunately there is a ridge along the outside edge of the insole that is very uncomfortable. Maybe it was just this particular shoe because it was more pronounced in the left shoe.

This is the third pair that I have owned in the past 10 years. I am able to wear for an extended period of time without having foot pain. They are pricey, but worth it.

Best casual/ boat shoe on the market...5th pair I have owned. Very comfortable and stylish! Highly recommended.

Probably the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. Only problem is size. I normally take a size 9/9.5, but with these, even the 8.5 is slightly too large. Waiting to try the 8.

I love to shop at Zappos. The customer service is excellent. I just hope that Zappos would get more of the Burberry platform booties and other name brands of platform booties. I bought from Zappos an excellent Burberry and Pedro Garcia platform booties and I love both very much.
