As a woman buying mens shoes, because there are more and better options, these are my favorite. I have to have steel toe. They are little heavy if you walk a lot. Good for your butt though. I have had mine for 2 years. Time for some new ones - smelly. Haven't broke a shoelace once - you're pulling too tight. Love them.

I am a 53 year old former concrete block hauler. Hauled block for over 20 years. I am now the block yard supervisor. I load trucks with a forklift and I have to lift heavy blocks when customers need certain amounts of block for their order. I am talking lots of 30 to 75 pound concrete blocks moved by hand. Foot protection and comfort is a must as I am on my feet a lot. I have always had trouble finding a comfortable shoe of any kind because of bad feet, I always order two sizes too large. Even tennis shoes can rub my feet the wrong way. These boots, without question, are the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned, almost want to wear them all the time. They are heavy, but I have gotten use to that. I was putting an order together and a 35 pound concrete block fell onto my foot when I was wearing my old steel toe boots, and the block missed the steel toe part of the boot and mashed my little toe pretty good. So I bought the Met Guard Steel Toe for more protection. Three weeks later the same type of 35 pound block fell onto my foot and it felt like an insect bumping into my foot. These boots are excellent. I still ordered two sizes larger but that is only because of my bad feet. The only fault is that the boot laces are wimpy and wearing out after only two months. As far as long term wear and tear on the boots, I do not know yet. But I am sure I will order another pair when these wear out.

I do a lot of welding and fabrication, as well as alignments on heavy duty trucks, semi tractors and trailers. I first a thought maybe this was overkill. That was until last week when I was aligning a semi tractor, it slipped off the front plates while I was between the rear axles. My boot became the chalk block. I was pinned for about a minute before some other techs were able to help push the tire off me. Had it been standard steel toe, I feel it would have rolled up on top of my foot, possibly forcing the steel into my foot, maybe even cutting my toes off. This boot however held that truck without even flexing. I could certainly feel the pressure and weight of the truck, but the steel toe and top steel shield protected my foot and saved me from a even more serious injury. I will never switch to a different boot brand or even style again. I couldn't recommend this boot enough, and it's really not that expensive for such a high quality work boot.

I live in a rural area and finding quality metatarsal work boots is difficult. I was skeptical to purchase from an online source, but I took a chance based on the Zappos reputation and I received my purchase within a few days. The boots are comfortable, they are high quality, and I purchased them at a fair price. I would recommend them.

We have ordered a number of these for our employees and they all like them. One time we had a return and Zappos sent us out a new pair before we returned the old ones!

The best! Great price for your buy. I’ve been through lots of boots for work and this by far has been the most comfortable and don’t really have to be broken in. The only bad thing about these shoes is that when you get on your knees, it’s hard to bend your toes because of the met guard...I’m on my feet all day 10-12 hrs a day and these shoes stand up for you...comfort is #1 let these shoes do the job!

I purchased these work boots six weeks ago and wear them every day to work. I am a welder and these boots have been fantastic from the first time that I put them on. They fit perfectly and were instantly comfortable. The first day that I wore them for work I took my other pair of boots for back up to change into for when my feet might start to hurt as new shoes usually do. I never needed to use them. They were comfortable all day long. I don't think that I can run as fast with them on but, they have definitely protected my feet from falling metal. I highly recommend them for protection and comfort.

These boots are comfortable, but I have gone through boot laces like craze. The eyelets shred right through the laces.
