A classic from Dansko that I can depend on for being comfortable, as well as looking good with plain (or colored) hose during the winter. The toe area is wide and comfortable - never have sore toes like in some shoes. I have several of the professional Dansko shoes, yet this backless w/ strap helps fill in times when I need something a bit dressier without being a true dress shoe.

Love these shoes. They slip on and off so easily, are comfortable enough to wear for a long walk, and even make me a little taller. I am a stay-at-home mom who is in and out of the house all day long, and love a slip-on shoe. I have trouble wearing the Dansko Professional. For some reason they are too tight across the top of the middle of my foot. But these fit perfectly right out of the box. I may get them in another color. For size reference I am a US 9 and the 40 in this shoe fit perfectly.

This was a new style for me, and they took a little longer to break in than I remember from before. I just retired my 3 pairs of Dansko clogs (which I wear for work) after six years of wear. I won't wear anything else. And, now that I have worn these new Dansko's for a couple of weeks, I can honestly say there is no better shoe if you are on your feet all day. They are so cute I also wear them when I am not at work.

Love my Danskos! They're a little snug (I do have a slightly wide foot) but they're stretching out nicely. And I wouldn't think of getting them anywhere else!

These look surprisingly cute for Danskos. However, when I tried them with socks, they slid off when walking. When I put the strap on, it helped but I felt that looked odd with socks. They stay on nicely with bare feet, but since I want these to wear in the fall/winter, the bare heel won't cut it. I am returning them.

This sounds a little flaky: the shoe is great and actually quite comfortable but because the sole doesn't flex, one winds up with a somewhat stiff foot after wearing them. Nothing is going to stop me from wearing them all day - a girl's gotta style. Excruciating pain is not involved - just minor discomfort for a short while after taking them off.

Got these midweek with nowhere to go so I have been wearing them around the house and they feel great. I'm wearing them with socks. I love the height they give me and they go with almost all my jeans/long pants. Most of them are bootleg cut - some straightleg - that was my biggest concern. I have to replace other shoes I have that never were the right size or don't go with most of my pants. And I wanted a shoe I can wear spring through fall that isn't too dressy but looks nice enough to wear many places. Wasn't such a fan of the rounded front shoe -- but they make my feet look smaller -- so great.

I love these shoes. They were a little less reddish than the picture shows, but it didn't make a difference in my case.

I am updating my last review. I was the RN with review re: the loose staple and the shoe falling apart. Just chatted with customer service and I must tell you they have received an A+ and they are sending me a replacement pair (my previous Danskos were 1.5 years old and I work part time). So happy to get my feet back in the Danskos and will be a Zappos customer for life!

Love the style and comfort, especially when I spend 12+ hours on my feet working as an RN. Purchased in 4/2010. However, unhappy about 1 1/2 years later a staple came loose along side and within the following months the shoe fell apart. Not good. I want to purchase this shoe again but scared of a bad batch. Do not know what to do. I saved them to show Dansko what went wrong. Very sad. I like many of their shoes. Maybe I will send a pic via i-phone. I adore the shoe styles and support.

These are my everyday shoes for work. I can walk and stand all day without my legs getting tired. I have two pairs; one in black and the other in brown. I also see nurses wearing them in white. If they came in other colors, I would buy them also.

I have several pairs of these & Sanita's oil. The latter is a crinkled oiled leather that stained the 1st day. Maybe in a black box Sanita's would be simpler to clean & not stain. But these Dansko's I had 1/2 a dozen at least in the last couple of years. You can put an inner sole/liner in it if you like. I do just to preserve the inner sole as I do not wear socks with it & it makes it a little narrower. Black box is very simple to clean. It resists a lot of staining. You can oil it & make it look shiny. Patent is pretty but it is a dust magnet. Cabrio leather is pretty too but not available in this shoe. I think the Black Box still sturdier than Black Cabrio.

Perfect shoes for 12 1/2 hr shifts in the hospital. Hard toe box protects my toes from all the equipment I work around.

I ordered down like the description said. They are too small! My heel hangs over the back about a half inch. I should have ordered my true size. They were too expensive to throw away and I haven't found anyone to sell them to. (will sell cheap) They are in really good shape as I hardly ever wear them. I wear them to the beach or on a car trip where I can kick them off. Its really too bad because my other Dansko's (10) fit perfectly.

These were not what I expected in terms of comfort after reading all the rave reviews about comfort. They are just okay. The style is nice, but because they were not what I expected in comfort, they went right back. I can always tell within one step if a shoe is going to work out for me and these just do not.

I realized that clogs are smaller than shoes. I ordered a 38 clogs and shoes. The shoes are perfect, but my heels hang out of the clogs.

This is a nice sturdy shoe, but it fits me in a strange way. The toebox is extremely roomy (too roomy for me). The upper part (the sleeve) is too long for the top of my foot-- it hits my instep too high up, in an uncomfortable place. In order to make the instep fit, I have to pull my foot back out of the shoe. When I do that, there's too much room in the front of the shoe, and my heel hangs off the edge. Too bad. These are nicely made and I think they would be good to walk in.

NOT FOR HIGH ARCHES! Sad face. They seem really comfortable... if only I could have gotten them on. I am a 9.5 and ordered up a size. No dice so back they go.

I have many pairs of Danskos and this is one of the best fitting (true to size) and comfortable. I have had this Dansko the longest time and I will still chose to wear this shoe over the other pairs. Thanks.

I have a few pairs of Danskos that I've had since 2007, including one with the exact same sole type as this one. I ordered my usual size 39. But when I received them I noticed they were a bit short in the heel. I thought it was my imagination at first, until I put the shoe heel-to-heel with my old size 39 clogs and saw that it was not, in fact, my imagination. The new pair of size 39 is about 1/4" shorter than my old pair of size 39, which is just enough to make me need a size 40. Hmm. I'm a bit disappointed in the size control as I expected better from Dansko. Aside from the sizing issue, they seem like the same excellent quality as my old ones, and the red ones are gorgeous. So I'll exchange for the size 40. All this to say - heed the previous warnings to size up! Even if you have an old pair and think you know your size.

I found the shoe to be comfortable as Dansko's are, but this one was a little too large in the front of the shoe. I'm still a fan though!

Love they style and color, but my feet get so hot in these and doesn't take long till they get sweaty and smelly.

These were recommended to me by several nurses I work with so I decided to try them. These are the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever owned. I'm an RT and we are on our feet 12 hours a day and do a LOT of walking (and sometimes running). By the end of a busy day you might as well have bricks strapped to your feet. I think they would be okay for someone who isn't on their feet nearly as much and doesn't have to do a lot of walking. They have 0 cushion and they are heavy. I tried to be fair and give them a more than adequate break in period before I wrote the review but it has been 3 months and they are still horrible. On a positive note, they are cute and have a good sole that doesn't seem to slip, but I still wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Expensive pair of shoes for the trash.

As always, Zappos is the best. I don't have to leave the house to shop and try. After reading the other reviews, I ordered the next size up, and it was way too big. The arch support was not as well defined either, and since I have a high arch, I don't think this style would work for me. I have many Danskos styles that work well, so will try again.
